Beautiful property with a lot of open space.

  • 4 of 5

Had a wonderful stay in a beautiful home surrounded by the forest. Only complaint is that the water heater was probably not working during our stay which meant that out of my group I was the only brave enough to deal with a cold shower. Other than that it is a nice place I'd consider staying again at in the future.

Great property, Beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we walked in it felt like a home away from home. All the amenities we could think of are available, from cooking utensils in the kitchen to extra bedding/blankets for the living areas. The various windows allow for a beautiful view of the surrounding greenery. We really felt like we were far off in a forest of our own. The drive from the exit to the actual home looks a little scary/secluded at first, but once you find the actual house its a beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

Nice stay in woods

  • 5 of 5

The Redwood Chalet was a great place for our family to stay over Labor Day weekend. This was our first time staying overnight in Arcata area. We were very pleased with our selection. Perhaps the best part was how accommodating Krista was. We arrived well before our check-in time after driving all through the night and really needed a chance to get cleaned up and rested before starting our day in Arcata. She allowed us to do so without hesitation, which was a big deal for us. The house was everything I'd hoped it would be. We always like staying in B&Bs or rental homes when we travel. I would definitely stay here again. It's a little difficult to find because it's off the beaten path, but not far off 299. Price was very competitive compared to other homes in the area. A great value.

The Whole Package

  • 5 of 5

The Redwood Chalet is everything you could ask for and more in a vacation rental. My family stayed in the lower unit, and it was so hard to leave the tranquility, that we decided to stay for another night! You truly feel like you are part of the forest. The chalet is nestled in the heart of the redwoods, but we never had to drive more than an hour to see breathtaking sites along the north coast. Fern Canyon; Golds Bluff, Moonstone, Trinidad, Agate and Luffenholz beaches, and of course, Arcata's Farmers Market were just a few of the fun day trips we were able to experience during our stay.

The home's interior decorating is beautiful, and it is fully equipped to meet all of your needs. It is apparent that the chalet is very well cared for. My daughter was ready to move in permanently.

The home owner, Krista, is easy to communicate with. She was always there with a timely answer to my e-mails, and we were able to call and get a quick response when we wanted to stay an extra night. Thanks to Krista, we are still smiling and looking forward to our next vacation at the Redwood Chalet!
