The cottage is part of a complex of buildings which once made up the historic Martha’s Vineyard COOP Dairy. This sunny three bedroom once served as it's carriage house. The Martha’s Vineyard COOP Dairy was an operating dairy and milk bottling facility until the mid 1960's. During its hay-day, all the island’s farmers brought their milk to be processed and bottled here. The owners unit was the Dairy’s barn and is adjacent to the carriage house.
We are year round residents and would be glad to help out with some tips to make your stay a memorable one.
Have a great summer!

HERE'S A FEW FUN THINGS GOIN' ON NEARBY
BIKING - Great location as a base camp for biking the island. Bring your own bike or easily rent one, bike rental shop is just a 10 minute walk toward town, they also will deliver.
FISHING - Just a 1/2 mile away the bend in the road beach offers some of the best surfcasting on the Vineyard, head another 1/2 mile down the road and drop a line off big bridge, great spot for Stripers and Blues.
CLAMMING - Just a ten minute walk is Sengekontacket pond by far one of the very best clamming spots on the Island.
CRABBING - 5 minute walk toward the beach is a colvert where the salt pond rushes under the road. Great spot for catching delicious blue crabs.
KITE SURFING - Well known for its great windsurfing, Sengekontacket pond is also quickly becoming known as one of the best places in the east coast for kite surfing. Vineyard native, Rob Douglas, earned the title of fastest kite sailor in the world & can be regularly found rippin' it up on Sengekontacket pond.
KAYAKING - On the far side of the State Beach, 10 min by bike, Kayaks can be rented by Island Spirit Kayak. They also offer great day and sunset tours island wide.
BRIDGE JUMPING - One mile down the road, nothing like Jumping off State Beach's big bridge! You'll regularly find kids and adults alike enjoying the 10' plunge into the cool waters of the Vineyard Sound on a hot summer day.
Nothing like the Caribbean, but the waters here are typically, surprisingly clear. Floating around the rock jetties of either of the two bridges along State Beach you can ride the current in or out of Sengekontacket pond. Small fish, conch, starfish, crabs and the occasional Stripped Bass are your quarry. The free ride in the current is worth the effort. After 15 years living here this is still one of my favorites on a hot day!

Fantastic Vacation on the Vineyard
Dear Mike and Sandy,
We had a super time on the Vineyard last week and really enjoyed staying at your 3BR cottage. It was perfect for us and our greys in every way ... there was plenty of room, it was well appointed, very clean and conveniently located to the bike trail, the beach, downtown Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower and fire pit. We were so comfortable that we didn't want to come home! We also enjoyed meeting Mike and really appreciate all of the recommendations that he made (restaurants and sightseeing). Thanks to you both for making our stay so pleasurable. We're already looking forward to a return visit.

Sweet house in great spot!
Wonderful, cozy house with excellent energy! Outside shower is great, the house is in perfect location for exploring the island. (walking distance to the beach)
great little cottage
This is a pretty basic cottage but has a lovely outdoor shower in a nice private yard. It's very well located - close to South Beach, Edgartown and Oak Bluffs - and comfortably housed a family of five. This is our second year here and we'll be back!
Cozy House 10 minutes from the beach
This was a comfortable place to stay for our visit to Martha's Vineyard. The cottage is located right off the bike path and is only a 10 minute walk from a beach. Great house for visiting with a young child and a dog as there is a nice fenced in yard and the windows of the kitchen and living room provide a good view of the entire yard. Great ambiance in the backyard to sit, read and relax. The hosts were very prompt answering questions and were very helpful.
One negative was that a few things in the house are a bit worn and some windows had missing or loose screens which let bugs in if we wanted them open (I feel that if we asked the host they probably would have fixed the screens but we just never did)
Overall we had a really nice stay and would definitely return
So glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you next year.
Sorry about the broken screen, I'm gonna fix that right now for the next guest :)
All the best
It was quiet, affordable, and within walking distance to stuff. It was too cool for us to enjoy the outside much but had a great private yard with a grill, lots of seating, a fire pit, and lighting. Owners were very responsive and nice. Would highly recommend this as a great cottage stay.
So glad you guys had a good stay, Hope to see you next year!
A great vacation spot!
This is a really cute, convenient place and we had a great time. The beach is so close, the bike pathway across the street was great for walking my puppy and it was a short walk to the 'triangle' for coffee etc. Being fenced/hedged in it feels very private and safe and quiet. Mike was very helpful with any questions I had. Yes, it's got some wear, but I understand the owners are working on some updates which I'm sure will be great. Thinking of booking for next year for sure!
So glad you guys had a good stay and enjoyed our place. just ordered new out door furniture and am building a new outdoor table for the grill area as we speak. Thanks for those suggestions. Hope to see you next year!
