Amazing Heron Loft in Gulf Shores entertainment district

Welcome to the Heron Room at Waterway Lofts, an exciting new high end, low density vacation rental complex located in Gulf Shores’ vibrant new Waterway District. Beautifully appointed, the Heron includes a fully equipped kitchen, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and LVP flooring. A large balcony overlooks the new, bustling entertainment district The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils, pots pans, dishes etc. All linens and towels are provided as well. The living room has a pullout couch to accommodate extra guests. Pets are “not” permitted in the Heron or Osprey Loft but are allowed in the Sandpiper or Pelican loft with a pet fee. See details.

The apartments are a short walk to some of the areas best known restaurants, bars—-Big Beach Brewery, Acme Oyster House, Sloop and of course, Galway Irish Public House. We are also a short drive to The Wharf, Orange Beach’s premier shopping and concert venue.

The Waterway District is emerging as Gulf Shores new downtown. In addition to the many fine eating and drinking establishments, the District hosts numerous music and art shows and borders the Intercostal Waterway. A pedestrian bridge crossing the intercostal is slated for construction in a few months that will connect the District to marinas and restaurants on the north side of the Intercostal. We are just under 2 miles to Gulf Shores main beach.

Grrat place to stay!!

The pictures of the property are exactly what it looks like! Great location & quiet. Pots, pans & dishes were provided if you want to cook or right downstairs, there is an Irish Pub with a great menu!

This place was fantastic! We will stay here again for sure! Very clean and very spacious. Loved the balcony and the pub down stairs!! BOOK! It’s amazing.

Great place! Did not disappoint!

I was in town on a work trip with a tight budget and wanted to stay as close to the beach as possible. I honestly didn’t expect to find a place this nice and clean within my price range, but The Heron Loft exceeded all expectations! The space was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and the deck was a great bonus. I was a bit concerned about potential noise from the restaurant/bar downstairs, but I barely heard a thing. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

Overall, it was a good stay. Only downfall was that the floor was dirty & needed to be mopped. Our child’s feet were black after walking on it. It’s above a restaurant but you could not hear anything from down below!

We loved the charming vibe of Gulf Shores, and this condo location was perfect—tucked just minutes from Gulf State Park and quieter stretches of beach. It’s also close to The Ugly Diner for breakfast and just a block from a fun little ice cream shop. The condo is very clean, well decorated, and offers a king size bed and a sleeper sofa. It is situated directly above an Irish pub and restaurant that served up delicious meals and even had live Irish music, and a very old orange neighborhood cat that likes to hang out there too. The only minor downside was a limited supply of towels, but with a washer and dryer on-site, it was easy to refresh them—just be sure to bring a bit of detergent.

Beach Stay

Let’s start with the good:The lofts are in a great location. The property looks just like the pictures. The outside area is absolutely wonderful.The downside:The loft itself needs a major deep clean. The amount of hair and dust is unacceptable especially being that you pay a cleaning fee. For example, the duvet covers couldn’t have been changed in between guest stays. The bedroom chair was dusty and contained pet hair (the rental isn’t pet friendly). Other areas in the rental consist of dust and hair as well. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to make contact with the owners to get the issue resolved out as my schedule was supper tight. If the cleaning crew steps up their game this place has the potential to be great but the amount of filth makes it questionable to return to.

great location close to restaurants

I was in town for a sports event, and the area where this condo was located was very convenient to where I needed to be. There are multiple restaurants very close by-- I love Acme Oyster House and it was right around the corner. There is also a restaurant, The Galway, below the condo. I could hear dinner noise, but it wasn't bad. There's a Publix very close by as well. The condo has a nice balcony with comfortable seating. I did like having the dedicated parking spot that was very convenient to the unit. The host was very nice and quickly responded to a couple of questions that I had during my stay. There are two things that might be important to some people: 1/ The washer and dryer are in the hall outside of the unit. I think there are only 4 units, and there are 2 washer/dryer sets. Just FYI they are not actually in the unit. 2/ You do have to climb one flight of stairs with your luggage. I will definitely consider this condo for my next Gulf Shores trip.
