Beautiful house! Beautiful weather! My only complaint is that I didn’t book a third night! This was our second stay here and we plan on returning next year!
The experience was wonderful the house was clean, roomie, comforting, and the group enjoyed the location! Oh we were picking shells, enjoying card games in the living room, resting comfortably after visiting spots on the island. There were suggestions incase we had no idea what to eat nearby or what there was to do if we had no plans. We didn’t use the hot tub but it looked inviting! Honestly we joked about revisiting that house in some years, but I’m kind of hoping we actually do cause it was a great spot to be at!
Beautiful view of Camano Island from the deck and great beach combing! We spent Thanksgiving weekend and had fun exploring the island. The only negative was poor water pressure - well water wasn't enough for showers for 11 people.
Amazing location. Great communication with host. Location was quiet with towns close by with everything you need. Lots to do - we went paddle boarding, walked on the beach, played games outside and relaxed in the hot tub.
Beautiful house and location, well set up and equipped. Host was very easy to work with. The house was perfect for us (5 couples, two small children). We enjoyed the easy beach access, the sun-washed deck, and the hot tub!
Eleven of us (spanning 3 generations) and three small dogs came for 6 days in May. The place is wonderful! The house itself is beautifully designed with many lovely touches. Three bedrooms up, three bedrooms down, four bathrooms, yoga (or computer) room, living/dining room (the long, narrow table was great for card and board games as well as meals), open, well-equipped kitchen, living/tv room (with an extremely comfortable right-angle couch). Double doors in the central lower bedroom lead out onto a play area facing the water. Lovely water views from most of the rooms. Great wrap-around porch with big picnic table and grill on the north side, and deck chairs for sunning, reading and animal watching on the east side. The small-pebble beach is 3 minutes away and very walkable and essentially empty; we took long, secluded walks in the north direction. If you’re brave, you can swim in the water. And there’s a hot tub! The bottom of the lot, next to the beach, is large and level, a good place to throw frisbees, baseballs, footballs, or whatever. The animal watching is great, our faves being the swallows swooping back and forth over the lower lot, the eagles and osprey hunting above the water, and the porpoises and otters playing in the water. We also enjoyed visiting Fort Casey and Coupeville (loved the pen cove mussels we had at the Osprey). Finally, Elisabeth was great, very helpful and easy to work with. Overall grade is an A! We hope to come back next summer!

What a lovely review. Thank you. I can visualize your experience and it sounds wonderful.
And thank you for leaving the house so clean!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! It’s beautifully decorated, well-equipped, and the views are truly unbeatable. I was amazed at how calm the water was—we’ve never been anywhere on the Sound with such peaceful conditions. It was perfect for the kids to paddleboard, do a little crabbing, and enjoy quiet bonfires on the beach. We can’t wait to come back!
We enjoyed four days for a Fall Family Getaway on this gorgeous property. There are six of us and there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and do their own thing. If we needed to work (great wi-fi), do a puzzle, read, play games or watch sports, we were all able to do our own thing. We had one calm day on the water and were able to paddle board, which was amazing. The outdoor hot tub with a view of the harbor takes the experience to the next level. The beds are very comfortable with great linens. The kitchen and dining area are perfect for us to dine together. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful time! The house was excellent for such a large group. Our view was outstanding. Main level entry with bedrooms available worked perfectly for the seniors in our group.
We had a wonderful day and very much enjoyed this beautiful home! The home has everything that one could ask for, clean, comfortable accommodations, a generously sized sparkling clean Jacuzzi, a beautiful and quiet beachfront for evening campfires and room for pet guests to enjoy themselves. We very much appreciated all of the personal design touches that the owners curated, that so many rental homes lack; well done!! We highly recommend!!
Lovely house right near the water with so many great amenities from the yoga mats, games, toys and recreational equipment to the well stocked kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Perfect amount of space for our party of 11 ranging from tweens to grandparents and the dogs were so happy to have space to explore and run around too. The beds and hot tub were a bit tricky to get in and out of for my older sister and parents since they were a bit high so perhaps step stools would be helpful. The host was super responsive to all my messages, had a very nice welcome basket of goodies waiting for us and even took the extra effort to return some clothing that was accidentally left behind, which was greatly appreciated!
We had a wonderful time, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished it could have been for a longer period. The rental was so nice and comfortable for our large (9) group. Well equipped with necessities and clear instructions on how to care for the cabin while there and what to do upon leaving. Very clean and amazing view! Great access to the beach. We’d like to return next summer!
Our family of four hopped out to Salt & Soul House to wrap up our summer. It exceeded our expectations and we are ready to return already!! Location, accommodations, EVERYTHING makes for a memorable and amazing visit!! Highly recommend…our day trips are also listed in the guest book…whale watching, Seattle, alpaca and lavender farms, and sea kayaking await!

Jill,
Thank you for your review.
We love to tell our friends up at the beach about HOW MUCH you all did while you were at Salt and Soul. Thank you telling us all about it and inspiring us to create a new list of possible excursions on the island (and in Port Townsend!)
We'd love to host you again.
Absolute gorgeous views! Extremely well maintained and well stocked house. Owner is super responsive and very helpful. Definitely coming back.

About the host
Hosted by Elisabeth Root
We live in West Seattle with our 2 children and have been coming to this same Greenbank beach, at a different house, since I was a young child. This is such a special beach and location right in the "Heart Center of Whidbey" and we love that we now have the opportunity to share it through this beach house!
Why they chose this property
Greenbank is a perfect central location for those who like to get around and explore the island and offers a private and very quiet beach, especially in the off seasons. I love that we can walk to the Farm in less than 10 minutes for the huge dog park, food, shops or wooded hikes.
What makes this property unique
The house itself is so solid and spacious. The property is unique with its private wooded yard on one side and open access to the beach and big views on the other. Its dedicated retreat room meets right where the woods meet the water views and is great for one person or a small group to drop in for a sensory reset.
