Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, 3 baths, patio, gardens, balcony with views

Juniper Vista is located on an acre of land in the desirable Cima Norte (North Hills) district of Santa Fe. The historic plaza is an easy one-mile walk downhill from the house. We provide 2,800 square feet of gracious living on two levels. There are three separate sleeping areas: an Upstairs Master Suite, a Downstairs Master Suite and a third downstairs bedroom. Each has its own full bath. Both Master Suites have their own kiva fireplaces and sitting areas.

The main floor of the house has a sunken living room with a kiva fireplace and a 48' HDTV, a fully equipped kitchen, and a formal dining area. Adjacent to the dining area is a breakfast alcove for informal meals. The two dining areas share a kiva fireplace. The alcove has french doors that open to the patio and the private enclosed gardens. The Upstairs Master Suite has a private deck with spectacular views to the East, South, and West.

Santa Fe is situated at an altitude of 7,000 feet on the side of the Rio Grande valley. To the east are the Sangre de Cristo mountains rising to over 13,000 feet. To the south are the Ortiz Mountains, the Galisteo Basin, and Sandia Peak which overlooks Albuquerque. To the West one can view the Jemez Mountains which rise to over 12,000 feet. The house has a wonderful 300 degree view of these mountain ranges from the deck off the Upstairs Master Suite. All of Santa Fe's museums, the Canyon Road galleries, and the Santa Fe Opera are within 5-10 minutes drive of the house. The Santa Fe Ski Basin is 17 miles to the east. Taos is 75 miles north. There are many activities for all nearby including fine dining in world class restaurants, visiting the areas many museums, shopping and gallery hopping, and exploration of the area's Hispanic and Native American heritage.

In summer Santa Fe temperatures range from the mid 80's and low 90's during the day to the upper 50's and 60's at night with very low humidity. The weather is almost always sunny with an occasional thunderstorm in late summer. This is a perfect climate to enjoy both the private walled garden with its birds, fountain, and sculptures, and the spectacular views from the upper level. In winter Santa Fe's climate has cold nights in the teen's and 20's alternating with dry sunny days in the 40's and 50's.

We have created a web page, JuniperVista dot com, for our home. It has many additional pictures and lots of information about vacationing in Santa Fe.

Warning: although we do not accept pets the house is occasionally occupied by our cat.

Our City of Santa Fe Short Term Rental Permit is current.

About David & Sharon

We are a semi-retired couple who split their lives between the hectic excitement of New York City and the peace and beauty of our home in Santa Fe.

David & Sharon purchased this house in 1989

Why David & Sharon chose Santa Fe

Santa Fe has been the capitol of New Mexico for over 400 years. It has a rich tradition of superb food, art, music, and native american and hispanic culture. We also love the climate and the mountains. Our home is close to the center of Santa Fe while still offering privacy, beauty, and quiet.

What makes this house unique

We adore our private garden with its multitude of birds, trees, and flowers. The views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular. And all this is only 5 minutes from the Historic Plaza of downtown Santa Fe.

Great house!!

  • 4 of 5

I was with two girlfriends for a few days of exploring Santa Fe and this was a perfect house for us! We each had our own bedroom and bath, so could have a bit of 'space' at the end of each day. . . .were able to have breakfast before we started each day and a cozy place to sit and visit each evening. All in all the perfect home away from home!!

Beautiful and cozy house in a quiet neighborhood, close to the plaza and the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The location was very convenient and the outdoor space was fabulous. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pots and pans. The artwork was very interesting.

Sharon ( the owner) was prompt and helpful in her responses to my queries.

We look forward to staying here again on our next ski trip!

We all enjoyed it all!

  • 5 of 5

The property is beautiful! And all the windows to see outside from the inside, and the fireplace and being

at the end of the street for privacy and being able to walk about safely.

We enjoyed being able to see into the den & dining room from the kitchen. The house worked so well for all the family.

Thanks so much!

Spacious, Comfortable Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a lovely time. The house is very comfortable with three spacious bedrooms. Each bedroom is separate from the others, which allows for breathing room. The open living area served as a meeting place for our family after our separate adventures.

The terrace off the upstairs bedroom offers a marvelous viewing platform overlooking all of Santa Fe and the distant western horizon. We were treated with dramatic sunsets and one of the most spectacular rainbows ever!

The kitchen is spacious and stocked with new appliances, every utensil, food preparation apparatus, pot, pan and serving plate known to a gourmet chef.

Very walkable to town, although being slightly older, I would take an Uber or a taxi back, as it is uphill. Our host provided us with detailed information regarding the sights and stores. We would definitely come back.

Juniper Vista in Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 3 couples, all retired. We have been taking vacations together each year for the past 7 years. Juniper Vista worked perfectly for us, as each couple took a day to prepare meals. The kitchen provided all the necessary equipment for meal preparation.

Everyone had mentioned how comfortable the beds were, and each couple had there own bathroom. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio, and the garden was lovely.

We appreciated suggestions for dining, shopping and sightseeing.

Sharon always responded quickly to any questions that I had.

We would definitely consider staying there again.
