Our rental is SUNDAY TO SUNDAY. We did that because most rentals are Saturday to Saturday, which means ALOT of traffic and headaches when you are trying to get to your rental. You want to avoid the traffic and start enjoying your vacation on the ride down. You cannot do that if you are sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. Plus, another little known secret is that the Saturday before your check-out is the best beach day, because everyone is leaving, and the check-ins haven't arrived yet!

About Peter

Working for myself basically means working 24/7, because even when I am not at work, I am thinking about work. Even on the weekends it seems there is always something to do, whether at work, or around the house. So, I don't truly feel like I 'clock out' until I reach the Outer Banks. For me, it takes an 8-1/2 hour drive from New Jersey to Hatteras Island, where there are no distractions, in order to completely relax!

Peter purchased this house in 2012

Why Peter chose Brigands Bay

Vacationing on Hatteras Island for the last 17 years, I fall more in love with the area every year. Traveling to the Outer Banks was the experience I looked forward to most throughout the year. I would start missing the island the moment I left, every year getting more and more excited to go back. Often times I would stay at Frisco Campground for a couple of days before our rental started, because I am simply trying to sneak in a couple of extra beach days. Also, I enjoy Hatteras Island most with my friends and family. There is nothing better than a campfire at night with your best friends, laughing and joking, looking at the fire and the stars. All in all, everything about Hatteras Island truly feels like the best vacation ever. Some vacations are exhausting, Hatteras simply takes your cares away. I sincerely hope you enjoy the Outer Banks, and my home, as much as I do!

What makes this house unique

Got enough kayaks for the whole family, four bikes for you to enjoy Brigands Bay community, enjoy wine in the hot tub after a long hard day at the beach.

Nice house. Great value

  • 5 of 5

Peter, the owner, was very responsive to all of my questions. The house was very clean. Beds were extremely comfortable. The house is just a short drive from the Avon Pier, Hatteras Point and Ramps 48/49. Would recommend this house to all of my friends and family. Will most likely be booking again for our future fishing getaways. To all the fishermen looking for a place to stay, we caught trout, drum and even a striped bass from the dock in the backyard.

Wonderful owner, very responsive!

  • 5 of 5

We were excited to book this house as it had everything we were looking for. The owner was highly responsive before and after booking to help make sure we were getting the best spot for us. About 2 days before our trip their was a power accident from construction at the bridge. After speaking to the owner we were able to work out a solution for both of us. He is truly a unique owner and I'd recommend this house simply based on the integrity of its owner. We are already trying to figure out next years vacation to be able to book his house in advance. Thank you.

Exactly what we were looking for! Perfect for our family- 4 adults and 2 kids.

  • 5 of 5

This house had everything we wanted and more! The owner was very easy to communicate with and answered all questions promptly. Everything was very clean and well organized. We used the bikes, kayaks and hot tub and found them to all be in excellent condition.

The house is located in a nice neighborhood with local neighbors that were very friendly.

The outdoor shower made coming home after a day at the beach much easier. The kids were able to shower without making as much of a sandy mess inside. There are also three water hoses which made cleaning up all the stuff we took to the beach convenient.

We cooked numerous times and found there to be all the pots, pans, utensils and dishes we needed.

We definitely hope to stay at this house again!

Great Easter Get-Away!

  • 5 of 5

Hubby and I absolutely loved the property and home! We enjoyed the sunset while riding the bikes around, soaking in the hot tub and playing some games of pool. The paddle boat was fun and brought back childhood memories. The neighborhood was quiet. Everything you need was there! Of course we had perfect weather for hubby to go Kite Surfing! Pete has done a wonderful job maintaining the home and we look forward to going back!
