Overview

About the property

Villa, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

I fell in love with this property because of the uniqueness of it . I believe you will too. It sits high above two river valleys and adjacent to a waterfall below, easily accessable. You will want to be there every day. If you would like , let us prepare a picnic basket for you.

The casita was newly built in 2011, highlighting Asian characteristics with indoor outdoor living thanks to sliding glass doors that disappear into the wall for total access to the pool area. There are two bedrooms with private baths off each. The master has an outdoor shower and indoor Jacuzzi . The living area is accented by a gas fireplace that can certainly be enjoyed many times a year. There is a small patio adjacent to the pool and jungle that we use for private sunbathing , stargazing and yoga. A/C is available in the bedrooms but not necessary as there is always a flowing through the casita during the day. It can be chilly at night.

There is so much to offer that it is best to see the pictures and write Mercedes with any other questions you may have .

Pura Vida!!

Keywords: Mountain Top; Pool off living area: Privacy; Waterfall below; jungle valleys on two sides; two separte suites; 2 Cable TV's, WI FI, NEW home; Fab kitchen; indoor Jacuzzi; outdoor shower off master; indoor outdoor living; On site owner/manager up hill for assistance., TWELVE minutes above highway on a 4x4 accessable road ; from the bottom of our road it is 3 minutes south to Uvita and 15 minutes north to Dominical.

Wholeheartedly Recommend this Adventure

Simply amazing! Week long honeymoon at Casa Namaste in San Joceito. Such a unique house and location bordering on 2 biospheres; 15 minute drive up/down mountain dirt road, in 4WD to/from the coast and beaches of Uvita and Domenical. The house is rural/remote for some, and surrounded by Howler Monkeys, White faced Coatis, Toucans, Iguanas, local rivers, waterfalls....It just goes on and on and on. Incredible view from the pool and dining area table of the Whales Tail. Two bedrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, jacuzzi tub, pool, ceiling fans; never even turned on the A/C. The house is well equipped and frankly, after provisioning, you could go in for a week and never come out the entire time, or you could go out to eat at numerous, fantastic local restaurants like the Ballena Bistro! The local farmers market on Wednesdays and a more tourist focused farmers market on Saturdays, took care of all our local produce needs. Two BM Supermercado's in Uvita for any other needs. Local Pharmacy to stock up on whatever you might need. Must do excursion, Horseback Nauyaca Waterfall Tour, best $70/pp you'll spend; included great Costa Rican Breakfast on the way up and lunch on the way down; with awesome local guides. Cannot say enough kind words about the property manager, Mercedes, and her husband! From check in, to checking on us, made local reservations for us, plus more suggestions and recommendations then we could have experienced in a week. After a delayed flight, a holiday crowd in immigration, and a 3.5 hour drive from SJO, Mercede's directions from Highway 34, up the hill to find this house in the dark were incredible. They are some special people. Getting adopted by "Izzie" was an unadvertised extra, and she was the sweetest little dog around the house and property. If you need the hustle and bustle and night life of a resort - this is not it. If you want to get away and pick and choose when you want to go to town and the beaches - this is the house and adventure you want! We will be back....

The Jungle the Way it Should Be!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family just finished staying at Casa Namaste for a week including Christmas. Uvita and the surroundings took a bit of time to acclimatize to given that we arrived on Christmas Eve and everyone was bustling to make their way home. Arriving up at our "Jungle Retreat" brought an instant sense of relief to our long drive and grocery shop from San Jose.

The house was perfect for our family of four. Modern luxuries within a natural setting. The girls stayed in one bedroom with their own bathroom and in the opposite corner of the house we stayed in our room. We tried sleeping both with and without the air conditioning to compare. The views from the house and pool deck across the jungle are impossible to describe but I have never experienced anything so serene in my life. The privacy is also unparalleled. Pura Vida for sure!!!

Having our own pool for the girls to play in was a very good choice as the 5km trek up and down the hill can get a bit tiring. We tried the beaches, did some horseback riding and canyoning. In addition to the pool at the house was the "local" river, waterfall and swim hole just down the road. It was so cool and even had a section in it deep enough to dive into from about a 4 foot cliff. Really neat!!!

Mercedes and her family took every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable and dealt with any minor inconvenience we had. She even made recommendations for activities, places to eat, beaches to see, and actually took care of the bookings.

Awesome R & R time !

  • 5 of 5

Thank you ! Charlie & Mary, owners, Mercedes & Chuck, managers and Izzie our little 4 legged jungle, river and waterfall guide.

An experience like none other we've ever had. The incredible view of the jungle and Whale's Tail beach at the Pacific coast can all be seen from the poolside and back of the house. The back of the house has sliding glass doors and screens that opens up the entire back side on to the shaded patio, pool and sun area. The hammock was used everyday too. We fix a lot of our own meals so the BBQ grill and well stocked kitchen was a definite plus. Mercedes did arrange a catered meal by Guiselle who brought her 12 year old son Jose. She fixed a typical Costa Rican meal that was excellent and it was so relaxing to just stay at the house and enjoy our prepared meal.

The bedrooms are very comfortable and both have big private bathrooms. The master bath even has an outdoor shower and sink for that true Tarzan and Jane experience.

TV, WIFI, and all the amenities of home but we rarely used them as we were too busy watching and listening to all the jungle life and enjoying the always changing views from our own patio.

A washer, dryer and clothesline on site means you can pack lite.

The is so much to do in the area that I would advise talking with Mercedes first to prioritize your to dos based on the time of your stay.

The house is on a mountain in the jungle so I would also discuss the terrain and road to it.

We can't thank everyone involved enough for our wonderful stay.

PARADISE

  • 5 of 5

We spent nearly three weeks in Costa Rica and rented three different homes and this was by far our favorite! We liked it so much we returned when another rental home had issues and we checked out early. The home was very well stocked and had everything anyone could need or want. The welcome gift of a bottle of wine and bag of coffee was such a nice touch! The pool was wonderful. We saw so many birds and monkeys. Amazing. The managers were very good about communicating and answering emails promptly. They are very nice people too and very accommodating. The only thing I would suggest is a smaller bed in the guest room as the king bed makes it difficult to get out bed because it's so close to the wall.

PERECT place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed nearly three weeks in Costa Rica and rented 3 different homes. This was by the far the best! Fully stocked kitchen. Everything you would need or want! The extra touches like welcome gifts of a bottle of wine and coffee made us feel very welcomed and special! The managers were very nice, acomodating and very quick to respond to emails. We liked this place so much when we checked out early from another place we chose this home to return to and were thrilled it was available on such short notice. The pool was great and outdoor shower a thrill. The river was a great adventure and well worth the rugged trek down to it. Watching monkeys and exotic birds from the pool and patio was a treat! This home made our trip! Paradise!!!
