A very peaceful, serene setting right by the river. The cabin itself is quite charming. Outdoor shower (overlooking the river) is wonderful. The owner (Steve) was friendly and helpful.
The WiFi reception is very very sketchy.
We loved our stay.
Very comfortable property close to a number of fantastic hiking trails and far away from the hustle, bustle of everyday life. Steve the host was informative, kind and very accommodating. Highy recommend!
The property was secluded, quiet, and had a lovely river running through it. However, the morning we were to stay there, the power company decided for good reason, to cut the power to avoid a wildfire. No power, no hot water (the water did run, most of the time). The owner did not give us an option to rebook, and provided us with a single lantern to light our way in the dark along with a single working flashlight. IN the morning, the owners' generator was off, so we had no running water to flush the toilets (luckily the river was close). We toughed it out, but feel like there should have been some kind of accommodation (reduced price, option to book somewhere else with power, a care package with a burner to heat water for coffee, something) to make up for the severe inconvenience.

I sent you several text messages informing you of the problem of an outage caused by potential fire danger add a very high level I did not hear from you for your information you failed to mention the generator that was running the full time of your first night so that water could be provided all of this was in the notice I sent you and yet you still came I too lost money as a result of the fires just about everyone I know has
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin nestled in the trees overlooking Horse Creek. The outdoor kitchen and bath house are a bonus to this beautiful setting. The bath house has 2 private outdoor showers, which overlook the creek. There is also a full bath inside the cabin. We spent most of our time sitting on the fully screened back porch listening to the creek.
The kitchen and outdoor kitchen are both well stocked with cookware and utensils. For outside, it would have been nice to have a BBQ grill, but the camp cookstove w/griddle type grill worked great for cooking chicken.
The bath house includes a sauna. But we couldn't get it to heat up.
Bring your own games and books as there are no games and limited books available.
The cabin was clean and in good condition. It could use a good cobweb cleaning, though. Both beds were comfortable with nice linens. There were plenty of towels and hot water!!! Be sure to bring your own toiletries.
There is a very peaceful vibe on the property. Enjoy a walk through the old growth forest, spend time meditating or doing yoga in the yurt. Take in the serene beauty of it all. If you are looking for a quiet, off the grid cabin, this place is for you!!! The only noise you will hear is the rippling creek. We had such a wonderful time and Steve is a great host.
My friends and I are unconventionally spiritual and silly with a great love for each other, different cultures, and nature. This rental and location was perfect for that. We absolutely loved it. Sometimes there were missing items that would have been nice like salt (which we bought and left for the next people) or we almost ran out of toilet paper or the wifi was awful because there was no wifi extender in the cabin or the sauna didn’t work but overall, that’s not a setback for all that we got out of this beautiful location. We’d stay again any day.
This property was a very zen setting for our weekend getaway with friends. Property is beautiful and spacious and just makes you feel relaxed! The sauna and outdoor showers were such a perk!
Staying here was such a lovely experience. This sanctuary is clearly loved and cared for. I appreciated the warm water in the outdoor shower - such a treat. I also enjoyed the moss habitat engulfing the statuary amidst the old trees.
We haven't left our home since the pandemic started and needed a break. We didn't see a soul for our two days, enjoyed listening to Horse Creek roar by, and the gentle rain in the forest. Was just what we needed.
We loved the cabin and the setting on a bluff over horse creek. The outdoor kitchen and bathhouse is fantastic. Probably the best outdoor shower ever. The whole compound is thought fully designed and very well-built. Numerous trails nearby with access to beautiful old growth forest. Absolutely loved it.
We had a great stay over the holiday weekend. Plenty of room for four adults and two dogs; easy access from the property to creeks and outdoor seating everywhere, and a 5 minute drive from the McKenzie River Trail. The outdoor bathhouse - showers, toilets, sauna - was a huge hit. Steve was a helpful host, and we look forward to visiting again.
Beautiful property located right on the river, nestled in the trees. The cabin was well-furnished and beautifully decorated with a variety of interesting artwork and tapestries from around the world. Had some really good nights of sleep, due to the comfortable bed, serene location, and restful sound of the river rushing by. Lots of trails around the property to explore, which the dogs thoroughly enjoyed. There was so much thought and energy put into building out the property - from the personal touches in the cabin, to the detailed woodwork in the pagoda, to the fun art around the outdoor kitchen/bathhouse area. In addition to the cool cabin, this would be a good place to have a campout with multiple families/campers, as there are lots of camping spots around the property and a nice large fire pit. This location has a ton of personality and is perfect for those looking to get off the beaten path.
It was a very relaxing stay. Loved sitting in the gazebo above the river! The architecture and artifacts were very interesting. Steve answered our questions in a very short time.
Love this place! Vast grounds and interesting spaces. We loved the outdoor kitchen and the sitting pond. A previous reviewer bashed the cleanliness but the reality is the grounds take so much maintenance you have to appreciate the entire premises not just the cabin. We will return!
I feel very lucky to have snagged four nights at the property given the relatively short notice for our stay. Very beautiful understated cabin with all the necessary amenities, full kitchen and interesting and nicely executed outdoor shower in addition to normal typical indoor full bathroom with conventional shower. Right on the bank of a small creek. Well done outdoor dining set up with polished hardwood (cypress, oak?) serving counter and propane grill. My adult daughters and wife enjoyed the beautiful private sauna and we all sat around the large fire pit in the evenings with abundant logs for burning. We all wish we had abandoned our coast side trip and spent the whole week at the cabin. Many great easy day hikes very close by including Blue hole, several small lakes, three Sisters Wilderness, hot springs... this was a memorable trip and stay that I hope to repeat in the future.

Thanks for the wonderful rendition of your stay made my heart smile.
Not a good place for kids. More of a spiritual retreat I would guess. The grounds were lovely, but sort of hard to find. Some signs out to lead the way would be awesome. No creek or water access unless you can hike up and down a cliff. Refrigerator did not work and it was 94 degrees outside. Kids had to drink warm water till we could find a store to buy ice. The freezer sort of worked. 1 tiny ceiling fan, and it was so hot inside. Manager was nice but the cabin was filthy. I have pictures. Just bring lots of ice chests and ice. Don't expect to use the oven, its never been cleaned. There was a crusty toaster oven though, sigh. I'm thinking a new housekeeper and new fridge would really help. Maybe a nice place for winter? Not much privacy, but you could hear the creek, which was great. Like I said, the cabin itself was amazingly well built and solid. This was our first experience renting from VRBO and let's just say it was different. Undecided whether we will try VRBO again. It was spendy, but was nice to have something other than a motel room.

Cathy I am truly sorry and a bit perplexed at the problems you experienced while never raising with me after many conversations we had during your stay here. I'll try to address them although your comments could have been resolved by sharing your concerns with me during your stay.
Cathy: Beautiful cabin but.......
Not a good place for kids ???
Steve: Really, All the Kids I've seen are enchanted with their forest experience, I watched your grand daughters when they were alone and all I saw were big smiles.
Cathy: The grounds were lovely, but sort of hard to find.
ME: Just have to walk about to discover the forests. Flags delineate the path down to Horse Ck and walking paths have quiet endings in forested settings.
Cathy: No creek or water access unless you can hike up and down a cliff.
Steve: I encouraged you to walk to King Ck at the end of a gentle road with a wading pool because Horse Ck path is a bit steep for older folks
Cathy: Refrigerator did not work
Steve ;-) : The Welcome Card has instructions to turn on/off the Refrigerator and when we spoke several times you didn't mention the Refer was not working for you?
Cathy: it was 94 degrees outside.
Steve: The Cabin is well insulated but you left all the doors & windows open during the Day just opposite of letting the cool air in at night?
Cathy: Manager was nice but the cabin was filthy. I have pictures. .. .. . sigh.
Steve: Housekeeping assured me that both appliances were working and had been cleaned so I would like to see your pictures?
This is a beautiful and cozy cabin. Feels clean and well kept. The river noise helped us sleep in after a long week of traveling around and not resting well. 2 days was too short to appreciate all of the elements of the property. Within 30 minutes of some great hikes. We would be glad to stay there again.
