About Steve and Sara Lowe

Both myself and my wife grew up in Colorado. I am a Firefighter in Arizona. My wife works for a major hospital system in the Phoenix area. We stay very busy with our son but do enjoy to travel and vacation as time allows.

Why Steve and Sara Lowe chose South Fork

My wife grew up in the San Luis Valley and her parents purchased the property when she was younger. She has many memories with the property as their family spent nearly every weekend and holiday there. We try to come back at least 2-3 times a year to enjoy the seasons that we miss out on living in Arizona to give our son the same memories.

What makes this cabin unique

You are only steps from the river on this property. We love to spend time on the deck and listen to the roar of the Rio Grande. Times spent at the cabin are relaxing and rejuvenating. It is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Rustic cabin with a lot of character on the rio grande river. A nice place to wake up to and drink your morning coffee on the back deck overlooking the river. The owner responded quickly to any questions that we had

Rio Grande River 2018

  • 5 of 5

I don't think you will find a better location for a Rocky Mountain vacation than at this residence. The river flows right off the deck in the back and although I no longer fish I know enough to be surprised if the water didn't hold plenty of trout. The cabin looked to be about mid 1980's vintage and was equipped with everything you would want to take up housekeeping for a week. Other vacation homes on either side but you still had a feeling of remoteness. With beautiful scenery, the house makes a great base for whatever you want to do in the mountains plus its just minutes to South Fork for supplies or Creede for their theater. I've been sold on this area for years and I still think its the best setting in the State.

Excellent location right on the river!

  • 4 of 5

Location is convenient to visit area lakes and towns. I would give it 5 stars except some minor problems. Front storm door won't stay latched and creaks. Only 2 burners on outdoor grill work. Burner protection plates need to be replaced. If you ever decide to sell this place I would like to make an offer. Thanks for making this place available to us.
