Fabulous house! We had a great time. Thank you for thinking of us and providing everything we could need. We tried to take advantage of as much as we could of your beautiful area. Hiking, whitewater rafting, scenic drive to Cherokee, NC. Ate at Trail Head Restaurant twice, great food nice people.

Hopefully we will be visiting again and will try to come in a different season to enjoy another fantastic view.

Thanks again for sharing your beautiful cabin on your beautiful mountain.

Perfect Mountain Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly the reason we use HomeAway. Perfect location, perfect rental - has everything you need, is beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, effective HVAC. We visited in late December and the weather was unseasonably cold. We were so warm and cozy in the cabin. Grocery store nice and close, small town of Townsend is so much less hectic and crazy than Gatlinburg, and you are right there at the Townsend entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We will definitely be back some day!!

Beautiful clean property. I would be afraid to try to make it up to the property in ice or snow.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed carving pumpkins on the deck and making turkey t shirts with the grandchildren. We would not have to have gone into Gatlinburg to enjoy the trip We felt right at home on the property and just enjoyed our surroundings.

Pros and Cons

  • 3 of 5

Pros: very nice interior, beds are comfy, linens and towels very nice. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook a great meal. Nice views and very quiet.

Cons: Location. Townsend is away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, but if you do things there, be prepared to drive. It is 15+ miles and does take a while to get there. If you do want to take advantage of the nice kitchen facilities in the cabin, plan ahead. Have a cooler because the nearest decent large grocery is either in Pigeon Forge or in Maryville, 15+miles the other direction. There is only an IGA market in Townsend that will not cut it for the discriminating cook! Restaurants are also very limited in Townsend. Another issue with this cabin is the access to it. The road up to the cabin, while paved most of the way, is not for the faint of heart. Very steep and narrow, the last bit is gravel to the cabin. I would not be comfortable using that road if it was raining, or forget it if ice or snow. You are pretty isolated .We could not fully enjoy the screen porch in the afternoon as the sun shines directly in your face. The deck side off the living area has a prettier view as well, less comfy chairs though. There is also no WiFi that we could find, cell phone service is also limited.

Beautiful cabin great views

  • 5 of 5

If you like to get away to a secluded, quite and peaceful place this is the place to be! A beautiful fully equipped spacious cabin with a great deck, screened in porch and beautiful views. Close to Townsend, Maryville, Pigeon Forge Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Can't wait to go back.
