About Thor & Courtney

I have lived in Austin, Texas for 21 years and enjoy everything about this state including the Texas Coast and wonderful rivers like the Guadalupe. My wife and I love the water and enjoy bringing our kids including our black labs to the water.

Thor & Courtney purchased this house in 2015

Why Thor & Courtney chose New Braunfels

The 100'+ tall cypress trees on this property are amazing. Lots of shade and cool water breeze make this a hidden gem. My Kids love the swimming, fishing, and the huge camp fire site and me and my wife enjoy the quiet, peaceful surroundings.

What makes this house unique

Great location, close to town but just far enough to avoid all the noise. The 100' trees and cool water make it a perfect destination for a quick getaway. If you want to have fun floating the river call our friends at Rockin R tubes and they will pick you up and take you home.

Cool spot, for family and friends.

Our families came together here, 4 adults, 2 kids, and 4 dogs. We fit nicely and enjoyed the open property, fishing and fire pit. The red house had everything we needed, but would suggest putting a curtain or towel (like we did) over the door in the bedroom for privacy. Thanks for the great stay!

Wurst Fest!!!

  • 4 of 5

We absolutely loved the location right on the water and only minutes from the festival. The house was cozy as we expected but the couches need some attention desperately. As we advised the owner we had 10 people stay but with the shape of the fold away beds we were unable to use either of them. Luckily, we brought several blow up mattresses just in case. This is a great place to bring your friends/family and spend quality time outside but I would definitely address the sleeping arrangement or not post that it can sleep 10. Overall, we had a fantastic time and made great memories.

Great Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and being right near the river was also a plus. We loved the nice "firepit" area where we could all sit and relax by the Guadalupe. If you are looking for a riverside hideaway, then this is the area you need to check out.

Very nice stay and location is amazing

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay it's right on the lake and we enjoyed it so much we only had an issue with the mattresses on the fold out couches were missing springs and the oven has grease covering the bottom so you can't bake anything without it almost catching on fire or smoking the house out but everything else was great

Quiet and Pretty

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was surprisingly quiet and was clean. My only complaints are that the fridge is VERY small and there were ant issues. Overall, it was nice.
