This cabin on the Guadalupe was true to the listing. We were able to fish and swim and enjoy the back yard that was very close to the river. The host was so very helpful and went out of his way to make sure that we were enjoying our stay, and even came in clutch when our truck battery died. We all enjoyed our stay and will come and stay again!

The best part of this property is the view of the river. It was fun to watch boats go by. The grass is very sloped so the river bank itself is best accessed by a series of steps. The character of the house was also enjoyable, with original floors in the living room and kitchen. We appreciated the open access to both bath and swim towels, as those aren’t often freely available at rental properties. We also appreciated that the check in and check out processes were low-key.

We visited NB for a family birthday celebration. Our kids and dogs loved the experience. Paddle boarding and swimming every morning while parents enjoyed coffee in the yard. We grilled outside and enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. It was a picturesque place and many great memories made and we can not wait to visit again. Side note, the area of the river is a “no wake zone” which was fantastic for the kids swimming and us floating around and feeling safe- really enjoyed that location of lake Dunlap. Thank you so much for creating such an epic space.

This property is really rustic just like it says. Beds are comfortable, cute furnishings. But the journey down to the outdoor area is pretty hard if you have issues like my friend did. Without grass on the property, it's s bit dusty but we had a good visit. Tom, our host, was good about helping us with the tv, and fixing s toilet that acted up. I just didn't realize it was going to be so hard to get down to the lower level so if you're older like we were you need to consider that. The front porch chairs needed work and new cushions and the whole place could use s paint job. At our ages, we probably would not go back. But overall it was pleasant.

The house was cute and comfortable, but if you are a senior, this house is not for you!!!! Trying to get down to the back yard is pretty dangerous!!! Really needs some updating !!!we were really disappointed that we didn't get to set out back much!!!! and really needs cleaned up!!!!

We came here to make memories that will last forever — my wife is battling terminal cancer and wanted to give our kids, and her mom, a trip they'll never forget. This place delivered in every way.The location is perfect. We watched gorgeous sunsets, made s'mores by the fire, and relaxed in the hot tub every night. The highlight was finally getting the kids out tubing on the Guadalupe River — a true bucket list moment for our family.We are so grateful for this place. Couldn't recommend it more.

This was a great location and backyard view of the Guadalupe River. Easy access to Buckeyes and Gruene TX. Less than 10 minutes down the road. The cottage was awesome and it had everything you needed to stay. The neighbors was quite and everything was so relaxing. The hot tub was great to relax after a day of fishing or shopping at Gruene and collecting Buckeye souvenirs!!!! Thank you Tom for sharing your cottage and hospitality. I highly recommend this stay here and this particular cottage.
