About the property

Lake Dunlup River Front Cottage with Sprawling Beautiful Cypress & Pecan trees

Camp Willow Cottages are located on the Lake Dunlap. 1 bedroom with queen bed, loft area with 2 queen beds, and sleeper sofa in main living area. Full kitchen and 1 full bath. Charcoal BBQ grill and washer/dryer in outside cabin.

Lake Dunlap is part of the Guadalupe river. It is a constant level lake designed for skiing, lounging and swimming. Quiet, serene, a great place to decompress and relax away from all the crowds. 2 1/2 acres of lush green lawn with many 100 foot tall trees. We have 600 feet of water frontage with new fishing dock/pier and boat ramp. A great place to fish, swim or just relax. Its a constant level lake so we always are full with water.

We are located within 5-10 minutes of Schlitterbahn, the Comal River, the Guadalupe River and Gruene Hall.

If you have a larger group, we have a matching cottage near this one that can house your additional group members. Please inquire for more information. This piece of property has a total of 4 rentals, nicely spaced that is a great location for family reunions, company retreats, etc.. The full 4 unit property can sleep up to 38 guests.

A great place for families, weddings and reunions. We have a launching ramp on site so bring your jet ski's or boat.

About Thor & Courtney

Live in Austin Texas with my wife and kids. Enjoy the Texas coast and great rivers like the Guadalupe.

Thor & Courtney purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Thor & Courtney chose Hill Country

Peaceful and relaxing. When you first see the 100' Cypress trees that shadow the water on Lake Dunlap you will immediately fall in love with the property as we did.

What makes this cabin unique

Sprawling 2.5 acres of green space with 600 ft of shoreline along Lake Dunlap. The property has many large Cypress and Pecan trees that provide a great canopy of shade in the summer months. The property has a private boat ramp for those that want to trailer their boats or Kayaks and a great place for fishing and swimming along the shore front.

If your looking for a venue to host your family reunion, Wedding, or Graduation - Camp Willow is the perfect setting.

Nice cottage and I like the sun shine getting in from every side of the cottage. Also nice view to the lake.

The 4 star is for the cleanliness of the furniture and the billow sheets. This area can be improved.

Relaxing by the River

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was just right for 4 healthy people to stay relatively comfortably. It was clean, quiet and serene - even with guests in the other cottages. I say "healthy people" because the two beds upstairs would be relatively inaccessible to older, less flexible individuals. The stair case is 2' wide and the height of the upstairs loft is about 4 ft. (no standing up - just stay on your knees at the top of the stairs). The upstairs would be perfect for children and/or younger adults. All in all, a very nice experience - recommended.

Sulphur Smell, Ants and Lovely Vista

  • 2 of 5

The best part of staying at Camp Willow was the view of the lake. We really enjoyed sitting down by the lake. We recognize that this was an inexpensive property but we would not stay there again even if it were free. We couldn't use the air conditioner because the smell it emitted was gag worthy. It smelled like sewage. There were ants all over the kitchen. We ended up putting ALL of our food in the refrigerator for safe keeping (e.g., Graham Crackers, Cereal, etc). We ended up having to go to the store to buy toilet paper and paper towels....they did not have enough for our stay. Between the smell, the ants and uncomfortable beds, we seriously considered leaving a day early but we needed a break so badly, we stayed. If they get new air conditioners, do pest control and provide adequate paper products, then the stay would have been fine for the cost. We do not recommend this place.

Great place for a close group of friends to enjoy the beutiful NB Outdoors!

  • 5 of 5

Me and 7 of my friends stayed at Camp Willow over WurstFest weekend to join in on the festivities and it was an absolute blast! The outdoor area by the river is a beautiful and perfect place to spend time with close friends. The cabin is pretty small but was perfect for all of us to sleep in. It might not be ideal if you are looking for a house to hangout and socialize in, but it definitely did the trick for providing all of our necessities and giving us a cozy place to sleep.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway :)
