About Philip Roberts
Hello, My name is Philip Roberts. My Grandparents purchased this property in 1927 as a residence where they had a small farm and ran the C&H Mining Co. Waterworks. Year round my grandmother enjoyed sharing this special place with the most attentive hospitality and today we strive to meet that standard. While there have been some changes over the years we like to think that time has somewhat stood still. The serene peacefulness of this little private beach location is unparalleled here on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Enjoy the most restful sleep, breath the cleanest air, and swim in the cleanest most refreshing body of freshwater.

Why Philip Roberts chose Calumet
The Roberts family has enjoyed this beach property for three generations. We completely gutted and remodeled the cottage in 2010-11 to upgrade and conform to travelers needs and preferences. We love to share this special place with visitors from all corners of the world.
What makes this Cottage unique
Running along side of the cottage is a small babbling brook, otherwise known as Brewery Creek that opens up to the lake on the beach. On the beach you can enjoy a camp fire under the stars or even catch the northern lights, swim the Great Lake Superior, hunt the perfect rock or agate, fish till the sun goes down, barbecue on the charcoal grill and picnic at the picnic table, or take a nature walk and enjoy the natural beauty of the beach and forest. In the winter, ski, snowmobile, or snow-shoe right out your front door.

Little slice of paradise
We loved our stay, which was in the middle of winter. Absolutely beautiful views over Lake Superior, very peaceful and private location. The cottage is very well designed - cozy and contemporary. Phillip was a great host. And Calumet is a lovely town to visit. We hope to return in summer.
A great home away from home 🏡
Always excellent, thanks Philip!
Another great stay. The location is perfect for exploring the Keweenaw. Philip is super-responsive and helpful.
Great location in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
Updated small older cottage that sleeps 8 with a pull out couch in living room. Not directly on Lake Superior, but could see it from two windows.
Great place to stay. Owner is responsive and helpful.
Great place to stay.
