Galloping Getaway on the rolling hills of GemStone Stable

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Come enjoy the brilliant sunrises and sunsets over the rolling hills outside your window at GemStone Stable. Have your morning coffee watching the horses graze (weather permitting).

The lower level apartment is 100% your space, about 550 sq ft. Beautiful space with living room, bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom.

We have quiet hours so baby's and toddlers aren't idea for here, please ask before booking if you have children. Thanks

We have 16 acres of rolling hills you can take a walk on. At your request we have corn hole, ladder ball and croquet.

We have horses and we can get one out for you to pet and maybe brush, but no rides. If you want to see a horse, please bring closed toes shoes for around them, no sandals. Don't go in the barn without us. Thanks

Please don't pet or feed the horses unless we are present. Horses are amazing creatures and all the horses that live here are kind, but they have a mind of their own and can be dangerous. Thanks

This is a great place for a small family or smaller group to stay. We have stayed here previously and had a great stay. The kids were talking about the entire way home (again). The host welcomed us but also gave us our space. The fireplace and bathroom with the large shower and heated floor were nice after we had a cold day outside.

Peace in the Country

Perfectly located near interstate and surrounding towns to visit friends/family, in a very peaceful setting, place had what was needed for our week-long stay! Tammy was very friendly and helpful. Nice walking areas to walk our dog while there.

Great Atmosphere

We stayed here to visit family locally and loved it. The property had horses on site and a nice private patio to enjoy the views at the beginning and end of days. The owners while on site were accommodating and very friendly. Couldn’t say enough good things as the family and myself enjoyed our stay.

Very clean and pretty one bedroom lower level apartment. Beautiful grounds. Lots of horses and space to walk my dog after being in the car all day. Tammie thinks of everything you and your pet would need. It's also not far from highway and easy to find.

Our overnight stay with our small dog at the Galloping Getaway was such a pleasant surprise. Having just completed a long day's drive, the beauty and quiet of the property was so refreshing. We found the apartment pristine in appearance, with many thoughtful items added to make us feel right at home. Even though the apartment was located below the owner's residence, it was very quiet and the furnishings including the bed, were very comfortable. Tammie was very helpful in communicating with us during the reservation process and also during our check in process. We would certainly stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

Very comfortable and clean

My husband and I stayed two nights at Galloping for some hiking and to catch some foliage. What a quaint apartment. They thought of everything!! Loved the heated floor in the bathroom too. We definitely recommend this place and I’m sure you would feel just as comfortable as we did.

Wonderful property

My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed at GSS this last weekend. The apartment is spotless, everything well marked and well thought out. Tammy was lovely, and responded quickly to all our questions. We greatly enjoyed walking around the property with our dog, checking out the horses and chickens and we caught a glimpse of a barn cat. The property is 15 min away from downtown Hagerstown and we had some very good food there. Also super close to a variety of good hiking spots. I would certainly return and recommend to my friends and family!
