My pup and I spent 2 nights over April break and the cabin was great. Rustic, cozy, and had everything we needed. Host was responsive and helped me figure out the VCR. Highly recommend if you want to get away to unplug
Super cozy and clean. Was great to disconnect and enjoy the serenity. 10 minute drive to Stratton and probably about 30-40 to Bromley and Mt Snow. I’ll definitely do it again.

Liked: Check-in, communication
This cabin is located in the forest and very close to Stratton ski resort, which makes it a convenient place to stay for skiing. The road leading to the cabin includes a long unpaved section, which can be a bit challenging to drive on, especially in winter. The host provided clear and accurate directions, and check-in went smoothly.
The cabin itself has an older, rustic style. Some facilities, especially in the bathroom, could use updates. The toilet does not have a flushing system and is very basic, and the shower area is also quite simple. The kitchen equipment is somewhat dated, and a few items did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. It was also the only place we have stayed where guests are asked to bring their own bed sheets and pillowcases.
One of the most pleasant surprises was the record player and the large collection of vinyl records. It really gave the cabin a special character and atmosphere. The living room was definitely the most enjoyable space in the house.

About the host
Your host
Hi, I'm Jason. Me and my wife Sara split time between our home in Brooklyn, NY and Jamaica, VT. I've been hosting for over 20 years and love sharing a special part of southern Vermont with guests. I also run a non-profit organization called Toilets for People which makes composting toilets and trains people in developing countries how to make them using local materials and labor. Hosting guests at my cabins on VRBO helps to support these efforts. Thank you!
Why they chose this property
Off a quiet country dirt road, tucked into the forest with a babbling brook on the property. Private and remote but close to Stratton Mountain resort.
What makes this property unique
It feels a world away from day to day stress, yet close to the action at Stratton. The simplicity of listening to vinyl records, watching VHS and sitting around a fire and looking up at the stars.
