Very relaxing stay. Kids had a great time on pier.
We would like to thank the Callaway family for use of house. The house had everything we needed. Kitchen was stocked very well. Kids caught crabs everyday we eat fresh seafood three days. House was very clean and plenty of room.
Good for the Soul
The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The view is fabulous and the sunsets were spectacular, in spite of contending with Sub Tropical Storm Alberto! Owner provides crab traps and beach chairs and a wonderful venue in which to enjoy them. Very much looking forward to going back!
Amazing! We loved it here! The house was beautiful. Even with houses close by it was so peaceful and felt private. The only problem was I did not want to leave!
We will be back!
Peaceful and private
Shellbanks is a lovely old beach home that has been updated with a modern kitchen, satellite TV and WiFi. We caught fish and crabs from the pier, and spent lazy days watching the seagulls and pelicans from the deck. A perfect getaway!
We are so happy that we found the Shellbanks property! It is so peaceful there! The house is lovely, and so comfortable. We immediately felt at home. There are houses on both sides of the property, but with the way the property sits and with all of the Live Oaks with the Spanish moss, it really was private. We were not bothered by ANYONE!! The property was clean, the beds were all comfortable, & Melissa had stocked the house with everything we could have possibly needed. The master bath has an oversized walk-in shower, which was the favorite of our kids! My family spent a lot of their time on the pier fishing & crabbing. The fishing was not that great, but I think that was because of Hurricane Irma. We did catch one Redfish that was big enough for dinner one evening. It was so good!! The Blue Crabs were abundant & tasty!! My youngest spent most of her time playing in the sand, and checking the crab traps with her dad (which are also supplied by Melissa). When we weren't fishing & relaxing, we were enjoying the beach on the wildlife preserve. It was all but abandoned & so beautiful! The family also enjoyed the hiking trail through the preserve & exploring Fort Morgan. Our evenings were spent watching the sunsets on the bay. We were able to see the dolphins swim through the bay once, which was a sight to remember for sure!!! There were tears when we left. We will be back!!!!! Thank you, Melissa!!!!!
