As the personal home of the owner, this beautifully maintained property is available for rent when I’m traveling, offering guests a unique, lived-in warmth that you won’t find in typical vacation rentals.

Designed for both comfort and entertainment, the home features an open kitchen fully equipped with modern appliances, perfect for preparing meals while staying connected with loved ones. The spacious living area is anchored by a cozy fireplace, ideal for relaxing evenings. Step outside to the private backyard oasis, complete with a full-sized pool, BBQ grill, and a pizza oven—an entertainer’s dream. Enjoy dining on the beautiful patio, surrounded by lush greenery and the peaceful sounds of local birds.

The home is designed to comfortably accommodate 4 adults or 3 adults and 2 children. The master bedroom features a luxurious king bed and an ensuite bath with a walk-in shower. Our host was informative; excellent and prompt assistance was provided.The amenities were perfect and extremely comfortable. The entire home was spotless, well-organized, and perfect for entertaining a small family group for brunch.The weather was unusually warm; our 2 grandchildren and son-in-law had a wonderful time in the pool.We give this home a 5 star plus rating!

Upon arriving, we were greeted in the driveway by multiple OVERFLOWING trash bins, which had a smell you could detect immediately after opening car door. We then were informed the front door was broken and we would not be able to lock the door during our stay. Extremely scary and concerning for the 4 girls staying there alone. The VRBO listing photos were very misleading. The photos on this listing are from the Zillow posting prior to this person owning or living in the home. Completely different decor and furniture. It also conveniently doesn’t show the 20 or 30 family photos of all sizes on every wall and shelf. It seemed like the family who lives here had left without knowing they would rent the space out. We had to live around their personal belongings to utilize the space, especially in the bedrooms and bathrooms. There were hand written notes on walls and mirrors made my children. Including one on the hallway bathroom door saying “do not enter”.

The inside of the home was clean and well appointed. The exterior needs some TLC. Check in was simple, instructions were easy to follow. We did have an issue with the lock. Its a keypad entry and the mechanical part on the inside of the door fell off as soon as we unlocked it for the first time. We were then unable to lock the door. I tried calling owner twice but no answer. We eventually figure out how to re-attach the unit and it gave no additional trouble during our stay.As I mentioned earlier, the exterior of the home needs some TLC - specifically the backyard. There was an inflatable pool toy (giant turtle sitting next to the pool half deflated - we left it alone. There are planter boxes with weeds growing, grass needed a mow, patio furniture is worn with a few holes and needs to be cleaned. We never attempted to use any grills etc. Nothing too terrible, just some TLC needed.The pool itself had a automated pool cleaner "robot" type of thing that would move around the pool (when it wasnt stuck by the stairs.) I am not sure if it was supposed to be left in the pool but makes pool awkward to use when your feet are getting run over and you get tangled in the hose. The pool itself would turn off around 2:45 in the afternoon and all the debris in the skimmer would then float out in the pool. In most of the house the A/C worked well but the master bedroom was at least 10 warmer than the rest of the house. Not sure if the system was designed that way.

Not as advertised

While the place was clean and nice it should be known that this is literally a families home. Nowhere in the listing does it say that the family actually lives there and two of the three bedrooms are literal children’s bedrooms. We were very disappointed and felt uncomfortable as a group of adult women sleeping in children’s bedrooms and family photos plastered all over the walls. The host definitely should’ve mentioned this in the listing.

Nice home in Austin

We had a great stay at this home. It’s a nice house with modern updates throughout, and the pool was definitely a highlight—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the warm weather. The location was also a big plus: it’s situated in a quiet neighborhood, which made for a peaceful and comfortable stay.Just a heads-up for future guests: this is a personal residence, not just a full-time rental, so you’ll notice the owner’s personal belongings around the house. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a well-maintained home with a great pool and a relaxing atmosphere.

Matthias is a wonderful host! His house is lacking nothing and sparkling clean! The pool is refreshing in the Texas heat and well maintained! We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Wonderful Place in Austin

We really enjoyed our stay on Stardust! The house was indeed very stylish, very clean, and very comfortable. The pool, patio and private backyard were outstanding, just perfect, exactly what we were looking for! The master bedroom and bathroom were spacious and terrific. We were 3 old college friends on a mini reunion so we were thrilled to find a home with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The 3 bathrooms were great! The listing details were not quite clear on the 3 bedrooms; the 3rd bedroom was a twin over full bunkbed for children, and we were expecting a full bed (plus a bunkbed), so two of us shared the master, which was fine, but not what we had planned. We had a little trouble with the front door "sticking" and so the lock sometimes did not operate smoothly, but we figured it out. Future guests should know that you are renting a wonderful family home, not a sparsely furnished full-time rental unit. The great part about that is that the house is fully stocked with most everything you could need and the host even stocked the fridge with waters for us; it is a very homey and lovely residence. If you are expecting an empty fridge, empty closets and empty laundry room etc., like many rentals, this is not that. This is a family's home. Thank you Mathias and family for opening your home to us!

Great Stay

Great location and layout for our family of 5. Basketball hoop and pool were a hit. The pool was a dirty when we arrived, but the host was able to have someone clean it to make it usable. We also found out when we got there that the dishwasher did not work. Otherwise, a great stay. Definitely recommend it and we would stay again.

Great place in Allandale!

Great house for family to stay in for the holiday. We live about 1/2 mile away, and it was lovely to have our aunts and my father-in-law stay here for a week. The house was clean and well prepared, and although we didn't use the pool, it was very well kept.
