I actually give this a 4.5 star. First, Bryan was AWESOME to work with. Very responsive and accommodating. He even added air conditioning units for our stay (without our asking) as we were in a heat wave. I really appreciated that he was OK that our party ballooned from 5 people to 8. For the record, the place actually comfortably sleeps 7. Our 8th person was not relegated to the floor either. He was fine on the couch. :) We were only there for a couple of days for a 50K/50 mile race that 3 were running in at the National Forest. This house is perfectly situated for easy trips to many of the parks in the area and to Ithaca. We loved the screened porches and how big the house was. It was perfect how the kitchen was pretty separated so those of us up at 4:30 AM did not disturb the rest of the people sleeping. It was great having 2.5 bathrooms as well, but agree the basement one is for "more hardy" people. I have rented a number of homes and this one had by far the most in the kitchen for cooking. 6 stars for that. :)
The driveway is very steep (as are pretty much all of the places down that road). There is parking at the top of the driveway that I personally think is easier to negotiate than the garage further down the road as you can turn around there. We just backed down the driveway and had no issues, and the other 2 cars parked at the top. The house was pretty quiet, but I could still hear traffic in the upstairs bedroom. I am a very light sleeper. No one else was bothered by it. Just a heads up if you are a light sleeper. The only ding I would give it is that it appears it is on a well. The water is potable as members of our group drank it without any issues, but I would recommend bringing water if well water is not your thing. Other than that, this was an awesome stay with an incredible owner.
