THE MAIN HOUSE
The main house is a traditional log cabin with 4 bedrooms. In the great room, you'll be greeted by Wally the Moose who keeps watch from his perch above the fireplace (he's always a hit with kids). The main floor has 2 bedrooms - the master suite (fully renovated in 2013) and a guest room with a queen bed. The kitchen (renovated in 2014) is built for a crowd with ample cupboard and prep space, a large refrigerator, and a 48 inch Viking range with double ovens. Upstairs you'll find a cozy sleeping space with 2 twin beds. The basement is split into 2 rooms - one holds 2 more twin beds with an attached full bath, and the other is the Big Red Room, our Cornell-themed game room with a pool table and dartboard.
THE GUEST HOUSE
The guest house is perfect for kids or a family unit. Bedroom 1 holds 3 twin beds (1 bunk, 1 single), and bedroom 2 holds a queen bed. The den has seating for the crew, plus a full bathroom.
AROUND THE PROPERTY
You'll have lots of space for your outdoor enjoyment. We have a Weber barbecue grill on the back porch of the main house, plus outdoor picnic tables. In the yard you'll find a beautiful firepit with outdoor seating. The yard is large and gives you plenty of room for playing catch, kicking a soccer ball, or practicing some chip shots.
To get down to the waterfront, you'll cross the railroad tracks that go along the east side of the lake. This is an active railroad, however, seeing trains is quite rare, and when you do, they are very slow and very loud. The few guests we've had who have seen them thought it added even more charm to their vacation.
From there you'll head down a set of steps to the landing, our large deck atop the boat house with lots of seats and a gazebo for shade. One more level of stairs takes you to the beach, where you'll find 4 kayaks for your enjoyment, a dock with boat hoist, and a perfect swimming cove that gently slopes into the water.

I grew up in the Finger Lakes, and graduated from Cornell University in 2001. This is one of the most beautiful areas in the country, and I purchased this property so that I could have a wonderful second home for my family and an exciting side business providing a fun and luxurious retreat for visitors to the region.
Steve Engelbrecht purchased this cabin in 2011
We looked at many houses in the area when we decided to buy a vacation home. This property stood head and shoulders above the rest - even before we got inside! The views, and the rare combination of privacy and accessibility is simply unmatched in this price range. We had a vision for how to update and decorate the houses, and we saw that vision through completion in 2012.
This property is full of fun places to explore and relax, whether alone or with your group. Join your party at the outdoor firepit or on the landing, overlooking the beach. Or, cuddle up in the great room with a great book, or take a nap on the hammock. The lake is a wonderfully serene setting for total relaxation!
The accomodations were perfect for gathering as a group (there were 12 of us)as well as for enjoying private moments with spouses, children, or grandchildren. The location allowed for quiet time in a kayak or on one of the many decks, or enjoying the wineries and the endless activities in the nearby town of Ithaca. We highly recommend these extraordinary cabins for an exceptional family vacation
This is an incredible property. It is situated right on the lake, with an amazing dock, and a wraparound porch with beautiful views. The house has tons of great little amenities, including a fire pit, a grill, a game room featuring a pool table and dartboard, a spacious kitchen with modern appliances, and several large televisions. The location is perfect - close to the gorgeous Watkins Glen State Park, several great wineries, and the city of Ithaca. 5 star experience and amazing for groups.
We've rented this property two years in a row for our annual family trip!!!! The kitchen is huge and perfect for cooking for large groups. The amazing dinning room table fits everyone! The guest house is perfect if you need a quieter place for younger kids. A fire pit, huge front porch, pool table, darts and kayaks provided entertainment and gathering spots for everyone! It's a perfect location if you like to ride bikes and its convenient to get to Aurora and Ithaca! We've made it our home away from home for one week every year! The owner, Steve is great!!!! He responds quickly to any questions. We never had any issues but I imagine he'd rectify those just as quick!!! Our family definitely gives this rental five stars!!!!
A mom, 4 sons, 4 daughters in law, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren celebrated our mom's 90th birthday at Cayuga Cabins. My mom's comments says it all: "I wish I could stay here for a year."
The cabins were everything we wanted and more. Thanks to Steve and his staff for making our mom's birthday on Cayuga Lake a memory we will never forget!
Cayuga Cabins was a wonderful place for a peaceful vacation in the Finger Lakes. We immensely enjoyed the property and the well-stocked homes. There is lots of room for company. The yard and the view are great! There is so much to enjoy around Cayuga lake. We used the kayaks and rented a boat which we were able to dock at the cabins. We also went paddle boarding at a nearby state park. The owner and property manager were very attentive and responsive to any requests. The kitchen was very easy to work in and the dining table was great for family dinners. It was especially nice to be able to bring our dogs on the trip, who really enjoyed the yard. All in all, a great vacation!
Everything was very easy to handle, from the initial reservation to the last day of the stay. In today's busy world we wanted a great place to stay while not having to put a lot of effort in preparing for the stay. And our stay was effortless done, when we showed up it was extremely clean, well stocked with the essentials, and ready for real living and enjoyment for the week.
Steve (the owner) was very welcoming and very easy to work with. Although we have never met Steve, but my brothers and I felt like we have known him for years.
We did find the place very relaxing, from the nightly bonfires, to the very comfortable deck down by the waterfront, overlooking the lake frontage/beach and dock area.
The inside of the two cottages was great too, plenty of space for our sizeable group.
The kayaks came in real handy also, there are a number of them, along with life jackets and paddles - we had a blast using those items.
The large dinning room table was also great for a group our size, a lot of meals were prepared in the large adjoining well equipped kitchen and eaten at that table, a great gathering place.
And we held cookouts outside, using the gas grill and eating at the multiple number of tables on the large wrap around deck.
All and all, a super week at this property......we would definitely recommend this property to others, and are planning a revisit ourselves for either next year or the following year....
