About the property

3 bedroom 3 baths with UNBELIVABLE VIEWS of Cove Mountain and Wears Valley!!!!

Thankfully, our cabin nor any cabins near ours was NOT damaged in the fires that have been in and around the Smokies. Wears Valley had some fire damage, but it was on the other side of the road off of Little Cove Rd from Cherie's Chalet.

ALWAYS book 6 nights and get the seventh night FREE! Rates maybe a little higher than stated if booked over a holiday weekend.

Nightly rate LOWER for stays longer than SIX nights.

The cabin is perched on the side of Hatcher Mtn about one mile from Wears Valley Rd on a paved county road. From the new windows, you look out at Wears Valley and the Smoky Mountains. Enjoy the privacy and seclusion of this location as only one other rental cabin is nearby. It is located close to the Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. There are 3 bedrooms(incl. one loft), each with a queen sized bed and their own private bathroom. A washer and dryer located in the main level bathroom. The living and dining area on the main level is has been expanded so you can better enjoy the awesome view through an entire wall of windows. If you get tired of the view, the living area has comfortable seating to enjoy the wood burning fireplace, reading, or the flat screen TV. Besides a bedroom and bathroom, the downstairs level includes a pool table, TV, small refrigerator and a sofa sleeper. There are several deck areas to enjoy the views, relax in the hot tub, or cook on the new gas grill. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal for your family and friends. There is ample parking for 3-5 cars or a few cars and a boat or a small RV.

Pet fee: 2 small dogs-$60 or 1 medium to large dog $60

2 medium to large dogs $100

Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am.

If you have a large group and need two cabins nearby, there is a rental cabin next door to our cabin called 'A Sight to See' that is listed through HomeAway-927351.

Besides echeck, credit cards and debit cards, I will accept Paypal and money orders. Contact me for details. If you are using a debit card, please consider the echeck option. It helps to keep the costs down so that I can offer affordable rates.

Assuming that there is no damage, the refundable deposit will be returned 10-14 days after you check out.

About Cherie Allen

We both grew up in TN and met in college at UT Knoxville. Growing up my family spent a lot of time in the Smokies. As a young adult driving through the area with my family, I would wonder what it would be like to own a rental home here. In 2012 we purchased Cherie's Chalet, added the dining area, and then put it on the rental market with the plan to move there when my husband retired in a few years. In 2015 we decided to look for another rental home and in the process found a home to live in. So, after living in MO for 22 yrs(my how time flies!), we retired in the area in the summer of 2015.

We have used VRBO for some of our vacations for about 10 years. It has always been a pleasurable experience. With all the improvements in VRBO over the years , it is even easier to find and reserve the perfect vacation. And now, we are excited about being able to offer our home to others through VRBO.

Cherie Allen purchased this cabin in 2012

What makes this cabin unique

There is a whole wall of windows at one end of the cabin that allows us to look down at Wears Valley, but also look out on some of the Smoky Mountains as well. It so peaceful to relax on the decks while watching the birds fly around.

A Wonderful Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We spent the weekend of Jan 7th at the cabin and I cannot say enough about how nice and well equipped it is. We awoke on Saturday morning to about foot of snow. The view from the cabin with the snow covered valley below and the mountains in the distance was spectacular. We were pretty much snowed in on Saturday and Sunday and enjoyed the fireplace, pool table and the countless number of board games. It was a true family time weekend! We have rented a lot of VRBO rentals over the years and I must say that no owner has been as pleasant and friendly to work with than Cherie.

Would definitely return to Cherie's Chalet if we're in the area again! Wish 4.5 stars was an option.

What a lovely home to stay in. From the fireplace to the amazing views....aaahhhh!! We had the "privilege" of being in Tennessee during the recent fires in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Not being familiar with anything in the area I made a call to Cherie who helped ease our dis-ease at the situation. Cherie maintained appropriate contact with us and made recommendations as she understood the situation. I am glad we stuck it out...it made for many good stories to share. The chalet is accurately described and was what we had hoped it would be. A few minor maintenance things to tend to but nothing needing to be mentioned here. Plenty of blankets tucked in the ottomans which were great for the evenings when we settled in for the evening around the fireplace and games. Nicely equipped kitchen made preparing meals easy. Clean, comfy and ooohhhh the views!! YES!! Love the huge wall of windows!! (worth repeating :) Our favorite activity was probably a hike that we took in the mountains in Cade's Cove. I really enjoyed the Old Mill area while we were able to be there but we left early due to the smoke in the air. We did take a drive to Blountville to go through the Appalachian Caverns there (nearby ones were closed and we wanted to avoid the smoke) although it was a bit of a hike it was certainly worth the drive. We also enjoyed the Titanic museum and the Apple Barn area. It was just nice not to be hurried and able to hang with the family. Thankful for the time, the hearts and hands that made it a great place to stay. We would certainly recommend staying at Cherie's Chalet!

We all loved staying at Cherie's Chalet!! This will definitely be our go to place to stay in the Smokies!! I did not want to leave at all!! My favorite thing about the chalet, was, well everything!!! Even our little furry family members loved it!!! Can't wait to come again next time!! Thanks so much to Cherie & Leon for their hospitality in making this a "home" away from "home" a hit!! Lovely!!!

Sincerely, Melissa "Missy" Barnes (10-29 - 11/5)

Our cabin is located off Wears Valley Rd about 7mi from Pigeon Forge and only a short distance to the Smoky Mountains. Some of the Smoky Mnt. sites you would want to take in are Roaring Fork trail, Cades Cove and Clingmans Dome. There are numerous hiking trails where you can see waterfalls, quiet streams and the mountains. If hiking is not your thing, driving through the Smokies is also a great way to see the sights. If you are lucky, you might even see a black bear along the road! Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg also have a lot to offer. There are restaurants, Dollywood, water parks, and shopping galore. In Townsend you can rent inner tubes and float downstream. Throughout the year there are many festivals to enjoy as well. In the summer you can go watch the Tennessee Smokies baseball team. There are also several locations where you can zipline and at least one is located in Wears Valley.
