All one needs

  • 5 of 5

Place was perfect size and setting. Property was on the beach, with crabs to chase in the morning, ample shade in the afternoon, a wonderful view for sunsets, and quiet and peaceful for sleeping. Air conditioning and appliances all worked. The owner left a local cell phone to use, which came in handy. This is a very good place with a friendly and attentive owner.

Perfect for daily snorkeling and relaxing with friends

  • 5 of 5

Just what we were looking for in Grand Cayman on the north shore, away from the crazy of cruise ship traffic and Seven Mile Beach. The layout with screened porches both front and back were perfect for opening up the doors and shutters to allow the ocean breeze to blow through without the buzz of mosquitoes. Both bedrooms had A/C if it was too hot at night, or you could fall asleep listening to the surf on the reef. The ocean-facing porch was perfect for outdoor dining and the clothes lines for drying on the front were a big help for those of us who took multiple swims a day (plus the washer/dryer helped us to travel home mildew-free).

The condo was comfortable and we appreciated the little things, like a stockpile of snorkel fins to try out, floaties, stash of sunscreen and bug spray, foot wash buckets both front and back to keep the sand down to a minimum etc. We also appreciated the local mobile phone so we could make a short local call to verify one of our reservations. We caught on to sweeping up crumbs frequently and keeping food in zip bags or the fridge. A quick spray of the ant killer along the door sash and we were basically bug free.

The beach was great with a few palapas for shade and beach lounge chairs. The water entry was easy with turtle grass and shallow for quite a way out for my non-swimming friend, and it eventually transitioned to sand and then the inner reef which was great fun to snorkel. There was a good variety of fish: in addition to the usual suspects, I spotted a nurse shark, a large stingray and squirrel fish everywhere. The coral looked relatively healthy and there was a mix of hard and soft corals. Depth appeared to vary between 4'-12' feet, getting shallower closer to the reef. Although I didn't try it, a drift snorkel down to the Cayman Kai public beach or even to Rum Point looked to be possible.

We were very comfortable here and would definitely stay again on a return trip to Grand Cayman. Chad made everything very easy and it was a pleasure to work with him.

A little piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

Seaside Paradise #24 was just what we were looking for! We had stayed at another rental at Seaside 8 years ago which was not great but Chad's place was perfection! If you are looking for a place away from all it all w/your own private beach, this is the place! Just a 2-minute drive to Rum Point. We only encountered 3 other couples all week, so it was very quiet and relaxing. They didn’t want to snorkel b/c of the turtle grass but is short, easy to swim over and plenty of open areas to snorkel. Just out front is a small sea-wall and there is AMAZING sea life there, just steps from the beach.

The unit comes fully furnished. 2 full bedrooms, each w/full bath, queen bed, love-seat, dresser, closet, nightstand, and ac unit. The living room has a couch, love-seat, chair and Smart TV. The Kitchen has a table, sink, stove, and fridge. There is a front (6 person patio table), back patio along w/a washer and dryer for use and a charcoal grill. The patios have their own water with hose which is a huge plus. The kitchen has all utensils, glasses, plates, blender, toaster, even a cell if you don’t have an intl. plan on your cell. The unit has dedicated WIFI for your devices. Not much TV so the Smart TV is the way to go – Netflix, Hulu, etc.

Tips - make sure that any food that is left out, keep it in a sealed plastic bag. It's an island people :) Keep bread in the fridge and cereal, chips, etc. in plastic baggies. The kitchen/living room does not have AC but there are 4 doors and 2 sets of louvered panels w/a nice breeze each day - leave them open, there is enough breeze to cool the rooms off but keep your bedrooms closed with the AC on. On arrival, we found items that came in handy: plenty of snorkel gear (fins/snorkels, bring a mask) & pool noodles. In the living room cabinets there is a huge stock of left over sunscreen (several diff. SPF levels), 6 beach towels, games, cards, plenty of books. In the fridge, is keep sunburn gel - keep it there b/c if you get burnt, you'll thank me & Chad later! No one was snorkeling b/c of turtle grass except us – don’t be scared. There is a rock wall right out front with many species of fish, it’s amazing!

It's about a 50-minute drive to Georgetown. If you don't want to go that far, there are plenty of restaurants within about 30 minutes. Favs are: Rum Point beach bar for lunch, Tukka, The Lighthouse & Over the Edge for lunch/dinner.

Thank you Chad, Amazing! ;-)

Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

I've rented many condos in Grand Cayman over the years and this one is top of the list for location. Being only a couple of minutes away from Rum Point and right on the beach makes it hard to beat. Of the limited amount of time we actually spent at the condo, most of it was outside on the screened-in back porch with spectacular views of the ocean.

The complex is older, but the grounds are pristine and someone was on the beach every day to remove any seaweed from the sand.

Compared to other condos I've stayed in this one was a little tired and could benefit from some minor upgrades (especially in the kitchen, more counter top space would be a great addition) but the pros definitely outnumbered the cons.

The beds are comfortable, believe me this is NOT the norm, and having 2 queen beds in each room worked out well for us. The smart TV is an excellent idea, giving guests the ability to log into their own Netflix accounts. (Amazon didn't work as well) but remember to log out before you leave! Along with plenty of beach towels, coolers we could use to take to the beach, and extra snorkel gear and beach toys, it seems like the owners have pretty much covered everything.

Chad was a delight to book with, answering all my emails within a couple of hours.

By the second day of our trip we were already planning to return next year.

Private slice of heaven

  • 4 of 5

It wasn't quite what we were expecting at first but quickly turned into a quite wonderful vacation. Extremely private and it wasn't an inconvenience at all to drive back to Georgetown and 7 Mile beach.

The grocery stores were quite well stocked and not much different than what you see in the states. Very Americanized island as far as shopping goes.

Buy plenty of baggies to seal food in, as the humidity is constant but wonderful. Had an island breeze almost everyday and the air conditioners in the bedrooms were plenty as we spent most of everyday exploring and being outside anyway.
