About Henry DeMello

We are a family that have entertained and enjoyed this house and its beautiful surroundings since 1997. We have entertained adults and children (ages ranging from newborns to 82) here and all have enjoyed it. It truly is an oasis, a place to rejuvenate you mentally, physically and spiritually. I am certain you will enjoy every minute there.

Henry DeMello purchased this house in 1997

Why Henry DeMello chose Bridgton

Not only is the property located on a beautiful spot but it is also beautiful within. The house was just completely remodeled in 2008; from bathrooms to kitchen to the deck and bedrooms. It was done with a sense of style and comfort for all those who stay in it. I don't know what season is the best to stay. In summer it is so much fun to light a fire and sit by the water enjoying a drink and family and friends. In winter taking walks on the frozen lake and enjoying a nice wood fire in the woodstove. In Fall taking the canoe around the lake and watching the leaves change. In Spring taking long hikes to see the rebirth of life. Honestly, it is a place of rejuvenation and relaxation to be enjoyed with family and friends.

Wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a lovely stay on the pond. Kayaks and canoe were in constant use. Such a peaceful place. The home is welcoming and thoughtfully laid out. We will definitely return! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Surprised to see a For Sale sign up when we arrived and trash scattered on ground.Apparently the home is being alittle neglected. He asks you enter thru garage, first impressions can tell a lot. The garage was filthy with outside debris, blinds were dirty and missing, work equipment all over, personal items scattered. inside the home was dirty. The refrigerator had hair in it and was dirty, counters and table were sticky. There was a large leak in the kitchen. The other home I rented had everything I would need, this one had no bathroom rugs to step out on etc.He was very accommodating however, he did send someone over to clean it better. However all they did was get the hair out of the refrigerator. Living room table was glass top and dirty along with the windows.Area rugs thru out were not vacuumed at all. This home has the potential to be beautiful and it is centrally located to everything. We made the best of it.I don't think I would use this site again for a rental property.

Owner's Response: It is too bad the guest did not enjoy their stay, though every time he called he assured me he was having a good time. We try to ensure all guests have a wonderful vacation but there are times when no matter what you do or how you strive you cannot make someone happy. Though I never like to hear a guest wont return for this induvidual I am actually overjoyed.

Beautiful View with great house layout

  • 4 of 5

The house has an incredible view of Beaver Pond. Quiet and secluded, it was wonderful for a lovely weekend getaway. We enjoyed the fire pit, canoe, and kayaks. Beaver Bond was lovely and very enjoyable. The house location was close to town, which had great shops and a cute ice cream place. The layout of the house was also very accommodating for our family (immediate family plus grandparents). Nice sized kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, lots of sitting room around the table, and good bedrooms. Everyone agreed it was a great trip!

Beautiful, Serene Experience in Bridgton ME.

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice stay in Bridgton, the cabin was well equipped, the surroundings were peaceful and the scenery breathtaking. We saw lots of wildlife, beavers, loons, ducks and turtles, we spent a morning exploring the pond in the kayaks, its a perfect pond for kayaks. We enjoyed a night under the stars, toasting marshmallows on the fire pit. We have been vacationing in that area for many many years now, there is so much to do, from Bridgton drive in movie theater, browsing the quaint little stores in Bridgton, the town beach and of course a vacation is not complete without a trip to the Gazebo for ice cream. Some great local places to eat, Ricky's Diner serve a great breakfast and the Black Horse Tavern is always a great experience. We took a day trip to Mt.Washington and drove the auto road, we saw a Mommy and baby moose, we did some browsing around the stores in North Conway and of course a trip to the Moody Moose Restaurant and the Lobster Trap, two of our other favorite restaurants. Its always a great time visiting Bridgton. Henry was a pleasure to deal with and responded to any questions we had in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away from it all. All in all a very position experience.

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

I agree with most of the previous reviews. The pictures don't do this home any justice. It's much nicer in person. First off the owner, Henry is easy to contact and he gets back to you very quickly. He is great to deal with. The house is fantastic, from its location on the pond to the cleanliness. We used the canoe and kayaks everyday to fish and paddle around the pond. The fishing was excellent! The fire pit outside is great at night. We also saw a lot of wildlife while here. A beaver made an appearance at dusk every night and there was a duck at the beach everyday. The back deck was huge and we ate outside for every meal. We will go for sure!

We absolutely loved it!

The pictures don't do this house justice! We had a great time using the canoe and kayaks for fishing and just paddling around. The pond is gorgeous. We relaxed at night around the fire was great. Henry was easy to get a hold of and very easy going.. We had 6 adults and the house fit us comfortably. The kitchen is stocked with utensils and pots and pans. We are definitely booking again!
