Awaken to transcendent sunrises over the Puget Sound and Mount Baker. Sip your coffee by the stone fireplace or on the private deck and breathe in wooded sea air; you've found paradise on Lummi Island.
This cozy studio cabin boasts original woodwork, a state-of-the-art kitchen, private bath and stone gas fireplace. Tuck away your car keys - with easy walking distance from the ferry dock and the Beach Store Cafe, and with bikes available for your use during your stay, the slow island life comes to you.
You may find yourself enchanted by visiting wildlife frequently seen on Lummi Island including seagulls, herons, kingfishers, eagles, seals, otter, and deer.
Low tide invites beach combing and shell collecting, as well as interraction with crab, clams and tidepool creatures along the way.
Hiking trails and nature preserves are also plentiful on the Island. Come, your island escape awaits!

beautiful view on quiet, slow paced, selcluded island getaway
The view is beautiful and for a studio, the kitchen and bathroom are beyond what you would expect, just gorgeous. The natural light and wall length windows enhance the experience. Full disclosure, during the week there is less than nothing happening on the island, so if that is what you are looking for, this location is golden. That said, if you are just looking for an affordable place to relax and enjoy the seclusion, this is the place to go. If you are looking to be entertained, especially during the week, not sure I would come to Lummi Island, though the ferry traffic and access to Bellingham is pretty easy. This is a studio, and there is plenty of seating, but understand that the bed is a hide a bed in the couch, so while it is a nice one, it is a hide a bed so that is what it is; if you have a back issue or need more sleeping space, that should be a consideration, one that is easily solved with a comfortable mattress pad or bed topper that I would highly recommend. Overall, great experience.
Perfect weekend getaway!
Perfect weekend getaway on a beautiful island. Sheila was very helpful and informative. Her cottage has everything you’d need and the pictures don’t do it justice! We went wine tasting at Artisan and had dinner at the Beach Store Café. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend staying here and exploring Lummi Island. We plan on revisiting soon.
I'm so glad you chose to stay at Jacques Point Cottage and that you enjoyed your weekend "getaway". Lummi Island offers many options for you to explore. I'm glad you had such good time and hope you will return soon.
Perfect place for a getaway weekend.
The cottage is small, cozy, and full of characters. Ferfect place for a getaway weekend for the two of us. We were lucky to catch a beautiful run rise with a lovely view of the Sound with the backdrop of mt. Baker casting on clear sky. Nice bathroom with very hot shower. Kitchen is fullly equipped with everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal. Just need to being your material for cooking. Very good movie collection. The ferry ride was 6 minutes short and “non-pretentious” as some article described it and run more often than published schedule. We totally enjoyed our staying experience. Much thanks to the owner - Sheila.
I'm so glad you had such an enjoyable time here and that you had such wonderful, clear, sunny weather. The views of the ocean and Mt Baker and the sun rises are so amazing. Wonderful that you got were here to enjoy it.
Another Fantastic Stay!
We were thrilled to com back for a second stay. The cabin is everything described. We'll be back again for a third stay for sure!
It was so nice to have you both return to Jacques Point Cottage. So glad you had a restful stay so you could look forward refreshed for Christmas with your family. We'd love to have you return. Thank you for taking such good care of the cottage.
Charming little cottage with an amazing view.
We had a great time. The cabin is small and quaint but perfect for what our sneak away stay. It’s right near the ferry so you can walk to the restaurants and little store. The view is so amazing we sat out on the deck and just decompressed. The bed was a fold away yet surprisingly comfy. We read in bed by the fire and watched the storm roll in. Great kitchen and shower. Sheila was really sweet and accommodation and let us play with her dogs which made us so happy. I will definitely go back and stay there again.
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Jacques Point Cottage and hope to return. We'd be delighted to have you as you were delightful guests. Glad you enjoyed meeting our poodles too :)
The place is in a fantastic location, walk-able to the store and the cafe, and the owners were very sweet and welcoming. The studio has an amazing view of the water, it's peaceful and private. It is equipped with all the necessities you would need. You can walk to the cafe right down the street where the food was awesome. The only issue we found was the smoke detector in the living room/kitchen is quite sensitive. There is a gas range and even with the downdraft on full blast the alarm would go off. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
So glad you enjoyed the property. Sorry you had an issue with the smoke detector! That is a first :) Maybe the gas stove was hotter then you were used to? I did see that food in the fry pan obviously had been burned at some point. I hope you will return, we enjoyed your stay.
