About the property

Beautiful Cabin overlooking Teton Valley

This super cute cabin with high end finishing is a great getaway during any season. Quiet and secluded, yet close to all the Teton Valley attractions (less than 2 miles from Hwy 33). Wonderful views and sunsets from the wrap-around deck. Cabin is situated on 10 wooded acres with Fox Creek running through the property, hiking trails around the property and direct access to the National Forest. Very private, cozy location with great wildlife viewing.

Great home base for all your adventures in Teton Valley and beyond. Awesome hiking, snowshoeing and antler hunting right out the front door. On site huckleberry patch in the summer (you'll have to find it's secret spot though!)

Large propane freestanding stove heats the cabin up very quickly and is wonderful after a days skiing or during the cool evenings. Loft bedroom with a full size bed, small couch on the main level pulls out for additional sleeping space for a guest or child. The cabin is quite small though, so it is most appropriately sized for maximum of 2 adults and a small child. Fully equipped kitchen. Bathroom with a tub and shower.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband and I stayed at the cabin for a long weekend of skiing at Grand Targhee. The cabin was the perfect place for us. Beautiful, quiet, peaceful, and romantic. I highly recommend staying here!

Fox Creek Cabin in the Woods

First impression: quiet and remote... just what I needed after a long writing workshop in Jackson.

A little scary arriving later in day and being a single woman in a remote area, but once I came to grips with that.....

Lovely little cabin for seclusion. Owners had all the amenities one might want.

Two problems they might consider dealing with:

1. The place could have been cleaner as far as windows and dead insects go.

2. They should address the fly and moth issue.

The flies got to me. Drove me nuts. Thank God for fly swatter. Was swatting flies constantly. And these were there to welcome me! I kept doors and windows closed so flying insects would not keep coming in, but owners really should have rid the place of them prior to my arrival. Trying to read in bed and being buzzed by flies was not the most enjoyable experience. If flies are a problem in the woods, the owner really should consider fly paper traps, etc to help stem the problem.

Quiet time in Idaho

  • 5 of 5

Property is off the highway 33 but still close enough to run out to the market or for dinner. Everything was as described when we arrived. Made use of the kitchen for breakfast and lunches. Bathroom was fine. Shower is a little tough to get into due to high tub but water pressure was great. Bed was comfortable and we had plenty of blankets. Bedroom area stays warm throughout the night we found. Sat on the porch for drinks at sunset and had great view of mountains on other side of the valley. Only thing we noticed was cabin could use a deep end of summer dusting. Would definitely stay again.

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very clean. We had plenty of hot water and heat. Extra fans, blankets and pillows were also provided. It was very cozy and far enough away from town that you really got a feel of the wilderness. Ash was very courteous and answered all my questions before our stay. There was a resident grouse and great horned owl. We heard some howls at night and elk bugling in the morning. I am a very picky sleeper and I had no trouble at all. The bed is comfortable, and it's easy to heat or cool the cabin easily (except maybe in hot temps, it was quite cold at night so I was fine). The driveway is a bit rocky, so I do recommend having a bigger car or truck, though I'm not sure it's necessary. There are also some great food places nearby in Victor also. We went to enjoy Yellowstone and the Tetons, but we actually ended up spending more time in idaho. There was lots to explore and a few national parks a short drive from the cabin. Overall the cabin was perfect for us. We wanted to experience the wilderness of Idaho and we are definetly happy with the trip.

Fantastic get away

  • 5 of 5

The night time Star view was unrivaled. The cabin was the perfect size for the two of us.

Also, Ash delivered a new coffee maker the same day it broke and bought us Hot coffees from a local coffee shop. Quite excellent service.

One heads up for those renting in July, the cabin is not air conditioned (I suppose it really doesn't need it for the other 11 months out of the year). 4-6pm are actually the hottest part of the day and not coincidentally quite warm in the cabin. We went out for happy hour during these times to beat the heat, so plan on being elsewhere if you need to stay cool.

Very private and cozy, yet close to everything.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin immensely. It was the perfect size and in a convenient location between Driggs and Victor. Jackson Hole and the Tetons were a short drive over the pass and we enjoyed the scenery along the way. Provisions in the cabin met our needs and we found everything clean and well appointed. Bear spray was also in the cabin which was useful on hikes. Overall it was a great getaway cabin and I would recommend it to all travelers with 2-3 people to accommodate.

Awesome retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our getaway, cabin is easy to find but feels truly removed from it all. I didn't ask about firewood, so we had brought some of our own- but there is plenty on site. If planning to do any gourmet cooking you may want bring any special pots and an extra cooler (small fridge), note: this is not a compliant!

Cabin was just what we were looking for as a couple. Would be tight with four and you need to be able bodied to navigate the stairs to the bedroom. We would absolutely return.
