Salty Air Cottage 475 by Liquid Life

Welcome to Salty Air Cottage, a charming beach house nestled in the heart of Gulf Shores, Alabama, just a short walk to the beach. This cozy, pet-friendly home is the perfect setting for a fun and relaxing getaway, complete with its own private pool.

With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this beach house comfortably sleeps 8 guests. The downstairs bunk room with twin bunks has a separate entrance, making it an ideal space for kids or additional guests. The living room features a queen sleeper sofa for added flexibility. The primary bedroom upstairs has a queen bed, followed by a guest bedroom furnished with a queen bed as well, for added comfort. Enjoy entertainment on the flat-screen TVs in the living room.

Step outside to the deck and patio areas to enjoy the fresh Gulf breezes, and fire up the charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal) for some beachside grilling. The fully fenced property ensures privacy. This unit is dog-friendly! A non-refundable pet fee of $150 applies for guests bringing a dog. Please notify our office in advance if you plan to bring one. This unit allows a maximum of two dogs. Most beaches in the area do not allow dogs, but there is a dog-friendly beach down Fort Morgan.

CLEAN BED PROMISE
Every Linen, Every Time: Liquid Life washes every linen for every guest. Every linen means every towel, every sheet, every quilt, and every pillow sham – every time. Inside our commercial laundry care facility, all linens are washed in our high-heat (150 degrees) commercial washers with our select, EPA-approved detergents to ensure complete sanitation. Liquid Life also follows specialized procedures to contain soiled linens and protect clean linens for every guest.

Terrible smells! Strong mold smell in downstairs bedroom. Strong paint/turpentine smell from area next to that bedroom. Horrible, horrible stench throughout house. Like human waste. Googled “sauerkraut” smell. Discovered it is most likely a damaged toilet seal or damaged vent to remove methane gas from plumbing. Or maybe a dead animal in the walls. Or maybe an HVAC problem. NOT a fun vacation smell! The first night it woke us up. The second night I couldn’t even fall asleep until after 5amAs a side note, the front door was OPEN when we arrived.

Actions we are taking now: - Open a priority inspection of the unit to verify the odor sources you described (downstairs bedroom, adjacent area, and whole‑house smell). - Dispatch licensed HVAC and plumbing technicians to test for sewer gas, damaged toilet seals/traps, venting issues, and to inspect the HVAC for contamination or VOCs. - Schedule a pest/rodent inspection to check for a possible dead animal in walls or cavities. - Order a full deep clean and odor‑mitigation service; if paint/turpentine fumes are present we will ventilate and retest air quality and identify any recent painting or chemical sources. - Open priority work orders to repair any plumbing, venting, or HVAC faults found. - Investigate why the front door was open on arrival, re‑audit our check‑in and lock/security procedures, and retrain staff as needed. - Review cleaning and turnover records and your stay for appropriate compensation. Please send any photos, timestamps, arrival time, or additional details through your Vrbo message thread so we can document everything and expedite the investigation. Not What I Expected but worked okay

Pics of home appeared bigger than actual home, 3rd bedroom & bathroom are completely separate from main home, hv to enter from outside the home. House looked clean but wasn’t clean such as floors, some trash left behind by previous people. Property manag. Very nice & helpful. We had a good time other than size & cleanliness.
