Wonderful condo in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

First, about the skiing...

If you love to ski, you can't find a better place than this. There is a shuttle bus to take you from the condos up to the slopes. It's so close that you could actually walk it, if it weren't for all the wonderful snow in your way. And then you can just ski all the way back down to the condo's via a back trail (which is even on the Killington ski map). But we just drove ourselves each day, since parking is free. We assumed the skiing out East would not be as good as in Colorado, but we were wrong. Killington is fantastic. Yes, there are places in Colorado where the condos are right by the ski lift for true ski-in / ski-out. Are they worth twice the price? No way. This is amazing skiing in a great condo for a great value.

OK, now about the condo...

Everything about the unit was just what we wanted. Our teen boys loved the loft, but it is nice enough up there that a couple would enjoy it too. It was not your typical loft. The master bedroom is wonderful and the kitchen has everything you need. We never went out on the patio because there was just too much snow that week. But we sure did enjoy the great views - from the MBR as well as from the living room. I would not say that this unit is high-end luxury, but it is VERY nice. And you're not paying a high-end luxury price. Everything about our stay was wonderful. Absolutely no negatives.

I'm actually writing this review as we plan our return trip.

Now about the owner...

We have done this VRBO thing many times in different locations. It's so nice when you get an owner like Kim, who is responsive, flexible, friendly, and helpful. She was so professional and everything went so smoothly, that it takes the stress out of planning.

Wonderful & cozy

  • 5 of 5

One of the things I consider a high priority is the bed, because I simply love my comfort and rest. So when I checked out the main bedroom, I was very pleasantly surprised. The king sized bed was absolutely amazing and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on, besides my own! I loved the fire place and all the coziness of the entire place. Simply relaxing & perfect! Of course no place is absolutely perfect and everyone will find something that isn't quite perfect to them, but that would just us being petty. Definitely a great place and very relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely not disappointed!

Great location

  • 5 of 5

This property is located in the heart of Killington resort and was convenient to many area hiking trails and a short, 20 minute drive to Rutland. We enjoyed a free concert on the slopes of Killington and highly recommend the Saturday morning Farmer's market in Rutland.

As advertised, 66 Trail Creek was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable with great pillows and linens. The unit was very clean and the owner is very responsive and easy to work with. My only suggestion for improvement is to replace the brown upholstered chair in the living room with something more comfortable. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this unit for anyone vacationing in Killington.

Great location and great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay and Kim is just a wonderful host. The condo was very clean and was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the fireplace in the evening, and there is ample locations to find firewood outside adjacent to the condo buildings. The bedding in the condo was very comfortable. All appliances, lighting, plumbing, and cable tv's worked absolutely great. You can tell a lot of the condo features have recently been updated within the past couple of years. The unit even has a screen door in the front. That was very nice to have to allow you to get your gear in and out of the condo without letting the cold air plus snow/sleet/rain in. I do want to point out for future guests that you can not park right up against the building at this condo. The parking lot is about 150 feet or so from the condo unit. It's not a big deal b/c there are amble dollies/carts for you to use to wheel to the unit from the parking lot. The dollies/carts can hold a fair amount of gear and luggage. I would think most people would have everything to the condo door in one or two trips. And on the flip side, the unit is more quiet for not having cars running in and out adjacent to the building. The ski home trail was a real treat to use. You can ski back to within about 100 yards of the condo. That was a nice bonus considering true ski in/out lodging at Killington is very hard to find. I do also want to point out that the ski home trail can not be guaranteed as Mother Nature has to cooperate for natural snow on the ground to use. The resort doesn't make snow on any of the ski home trails at the resort. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Kim or this condo again for another visit in the near future. And I would recommend this condo to anyone. 5 stars!

This condo is a nice place to rest your head but there's nothing spectacular about it. It's fairly small and is on the very far side of the complex. Loading and unloading all our stuff was a pain since their were no carts anywhere on that side of the complex when we arrived. It's also really far from the hot tub/pool area. The biggest disappointment was the jacuzzi was dirty when we went to the pool area. Their was a ton of stuff floating around like it hadn't been cleaned for days. The pool was way to cold to get into even though its supposed to be heated. The ski conditions were terrible while we were there(which is clearly no fault of the owners) so the ski in/out option wasn't an option. I will say that the condo was well supplied with kitchen condiments which was nice since most places don't offer that. The TV in the living room had no DVD player and the TV which is newer didn't have HD Cable going to it so the picture was very grainy. Overall its a decent place but the cost to stay here outweighs the benefits. They nickel and dime you for everything: 195$ for cleaning fee/firewood; 40$ for concierge check in; and 45$ for amenities/pool towels. I've used VRBO to stay at much better places in much better locations for much cheaper.

Owner's Response: Yes guest is correct about the weather cannot control that but that is all. They are incorrect about the cable I stayed in the unit after their departure and cable and TV was fine I also never heard from the guests as to the issue with the TV during their stay nor did the concierge. It is a smart TV with access to all of a smart TV's benefits and also cable, all other TV's in unit have cable as well and DVD player. The unit is close to the parking lot takes me 1 min to walk to the unit from the lot but it does not sit on the parking lot which I think is nice since you do not have to hear the cars or see the lights of anyone arriving later at night but some like chocolate some like vanilla so I guess it is all a matter of what you like. Also the amenity building takes me 3 min to walk to again not far in my opinion. The guests makes it seem you are walking for a long time in their review and that is simply not true. There are carts to carry stuff not sure why they could not find any I also have never seen an issue with the hot tub but they were there on a busy weekend the tub is cleaned daily. I guess if they went in after guests that were not so nice to it there may have been some of the issues stated again this is not something I cannot control but the tub but it is cleaned daily. The unit is 900 square feet I do not consider it small for what it is but maybe some do a one bedroom downstairs unit is much smaller than the loft units. Maybe they live in a big house so rent a larger unit it clearly states unit size on VRBO really not something where I mislead. When you book on line with VRBO They charge service fees and I am also not in control of that it is the new system with VRBO and owners must have the guest pay these fees or VRBO takes them off the site so this is again not anything to do with me it is with VRBO. my units are not bargains but I do not advertise them that way they are nice and well maintained. The guests did leave the unit extremely messy I was there after their departure they had 5 bags of garbage by the time housekeeping cleaned up all the bottles and items left behind by the guests there were dirty dishes in the sink, dishwasher crammed full and never run on departure and also grease all over the stove with a dirty greasy bacon pan left on the stove. while not the worst I have seen by far certainly not the best care I have seen for my units. Concierge confirmed pool was clean you get some good and bad guests these were bad

Perfect for our needs

  • 5 of 5

This was a great condo for our weekend away. The location was perfect, either a short bus ride or a short walk to the Snowshed lifts. The walk was probably even easier than the bus ride. Skiing home was great, and easy as well. The condo was just what we expected; 2 nice sized bedrooms, both with TVs, 2 full baths, a comfortable family room and nice fireplace. We stayed with another couple and everyone had plenty of room. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen was equipped with everything you would need. It was easy to get a cab/Uber to head out for dinner or wherever. The provided linens were great, and it was nice to not have to make the beds upon arrival - it was already done! Easy check-in and check-out and the owner made herself available for anything we needed. Didn't get a chance to check out the pool/hot tub - maybe next time. Would definitely rent again.
