Wonderful place to stay! Very comfortable, has everything you would need. Host was wonderful to communicate with. Very responsive and helpful if needed. We stayed for 14 days and were not ready to head home. We love the Maalaea location. It is so quiet and peaceful there. Amazing views of the ocean and whales, right out of the lanai. Peaceful location with beautiful ocean views!

Our family stayed here for 10 wonderful nights. We enjoyed listening to the ocean out the lanai and our bedroom windows. The kids loved the boogie boards that were provided. We really appreciated the lawn chairs and ice chests as well. If you are looking for an oceanfront condo without the hustle of all the resorts this is where you want to be! We would highly recommend this place and would definitely love to come back.

This renter was extremely difficult. Please compare to our other reviews who love our place. Renter arrived and called me at 2am because she incorrectly input numbers on door code. Finally she did code a third time and it worked. Renter broke our window shade pulling it down too hard. Sat in and broke our bedroom sitting chair along with staining it and tearing it. Renter created many stains on our carpet throughout condo. Didn't like the mattresses on our beds. Didn't like the couch as it was too hard. Constantly complained and texted me because she didn't like things in our condo. In fact there are no major repairs needed. We have had to file an insurance claim for damage this renter did to our condo. Renter did not say anything about any repairs that needed to be done. Our rental agreement indicates to contact me immediately. Renter now decides to post here on major repairs.

Wonderful stay. Views from the lanai were excellent - spotted whales each day. Location of condo was ideal for visiting a variety of Maui locales. The condo was clean, quiet, and comfortable with all the amenities. Recommend this condo.

Feels like home in paradise

Great VRBO experience. Keyless entry was really convenient! All the amenities you would need on a vacation getaway. The view is beyond gorgeous from the balcony. I would love to book again when we return, just loved it!

Great quiet and central location

The property is located so that both western coasts were easily reachable, as well as being close to nice beach park and marina. Property was very clean with everything you need for cooking. Beds were great for a family of 4 and the living area was comfortable. Nice views and close enough to the airport. There was good and timely information provided by the owner for how to use the property on arrival and departure.

Fantastic Anniversary and Birthday

Our family vacation was perfect and it was largely because of this amazing condo. The location is perfect. Each morning we would take a stroll along the water on our way to the nearby general store for coffee/breakfast. The neighbors are so friendly and welcoming and one even invited us to play golf! So great and would certainly stay here again.

Relaxing week in Maui

Loved hearing the waves and seeing the many whales from the condo. We enjoyed staying here as it was nice and quiet. The condo had all that was needed for us to cook a meal, walk to some lovely restaurants, enjoy an early morning snorkeling trip and visit the entire island. A great way to start 2023!!!

Great location

The property was clean and well maintained. The lack of air-conditioning was not a factor. There was a nice breeze coming in from the ocean. We stayed in February and were able to see turtles on the beach and whales from our balcony.

Maui Trip

My family really enjoyed staying in this condo. Great view and the proximity to everything was perfect. Our snorkeling excursion was walking distance which made it perfect. Yes it was hot and the A/C was definitely missed but having the doors open and using the fans made the evening nice and cool. I would definitely recommend this condo as it does have a beautiful view.

Wonderful location

Maalea Bay is an easy drive from the airport and gives access to both sides of Maui. The unit is walking distance from the wonderful Maui Ocean Center Aquarium as well as a delightful beach at the end of the street. The lanai faces Haleakala across the bay. Many sea turtle sightings from the front lawn. Lovely swimming pool. Close to restaurants, farmers markets and snorkeling beaches.

Great location and view

The property was as described in the listing and I feel good value for Maui. Beautiful grounds and view. We had rain which happens more in January. In spite of this we had a great time sitting on the lanai and watching humpback whales. The shore is rocky but you are just a 5 minute walk from 6 miles of beach.

So many whales

We found another great location in Maui in Ma’alea bay. Easy drive to many things. I loved our ability to watch so much whale activity. The condo was dated but very clean. The residents in the condominium were very friendly. I will say the tone of the owner was off-putting before we arrived but they were responsive once we arrived. Also, the listed rent on the VRBO website changed to a higher rate once I requested the dates.

Thanks for your review. I'm glad you had a great time. Yes our condo is all about location location location as you experienced seeing the whales and turtles all the time out our balcony overlooking the ocean :) The condo you mentioned is dated but it is listed and described in the VRBO listing as a "retro" condo when you look to book. We do love the carpet and our furnishings we personally decorated with. When you say off putting I presume you are referring to the mandatory screening questions we asked you before you could book our condo. It is our second home and not all renters are allowed to rent it. By screening questions we find it helps keep our home cherished and kept up. We have had it listed to anyone but that proved to be damaging to our condo with some destroying it and partying there. Now we now ask mandatory screening questions before booking. The VRBO website is geared to changed prices during high season with the parameters I put in. It changes automatically depending on the date. You must book immediately to retain the rate. If days or weeks go on before you book or pay then this automatic price rate changes at times and especially during high season. I hope that clears all up. We welcome your return one day :)

Chill and relax

This is a wonderful vacation retreat. The condo was clean, comfortable and well stocked with the essentials. The size was good for our group of four.The views were beautiful. We watched the whales, the sunrise over Haleakala and the green sea turtles. The outdoor grilling area is great. The ocean is right there! Maalaea Bay is a prefect spot to stay. It is quite and right at the harbor. In our opinion it is a hidden gem. Yes, you do get some trade winds but this condo is centrally located. You are in the middle of things, you can take a trip to Wailea or Kaanapali or just enjoy the pool and condo. We truly enjoyed this lovely spot and would highly recommend it. Aloha

Amazing location with cozy condo and oceanfront view

Shhhhh you found a gem. Quaint, quiet beautiful stunning location overlooking pool, lush lawn with scenic point BBQ/sitting eating area, and of course the beautiful sparkling blue ocean. School of turtles live about 1/4 mile out. Whales seen with their babies. Walk to boat marina off to the right for fresh fish, boat rental/tours, aquarium, restaurants. Walk to the left for famous beautiful white sand beach. Condo has all amenities needed to cook meals if you like. Lanai/balcony for sipping cocktails and watching the sunset. Comfy beds and couch. Cute island decor. YOU'LL LOVE IT AS WE DO!

Hidden Gem

If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing environment, conveniently located-but not super touristy- look no further! This condo really made our trip fantastic! The view is beautiful and proximity to the ocean is just perfect- waking up with the sun rising over Haleakala, and the waves lulling us to sleep at night, you really cant beat it! It is in a bit of a wind pocket- but it helps with the heat and humidity. The property is well maintained and everyone is very nice- especially Lynn- who went above and beyond to make sure an issue was fixed before our visit; despite the quick turnaround from the previous guests. Nice Condo, Convenient location

We usually stay in West Maui, but since we were booking on relatively short notice (about a month out) the options in West Maui were few and very high priced. We decide on this property because it was reasonably priced and conveniently located to access all parts of Maui. The condo property itself is very well maintained and pretty. It has great views of Kihei and Maalaea Bay. The condo itself is dated, but that shouldn't be a surprise as the pictures definitely show you what you are getting. I struggled on how to rate this property overall because although the condo is dated and it doesn't have air conditioning (all of which is shown and stated upfront) it was clean, quiet, convenient, had lovely views, and communication with owners was easy and they were quick to respond...which makes me lean towards giving it a 5. Just know it's not a 5 star property, but 5 stars in the sense of you get what is pictured for a reasonable price, will have great views and a clean place to stay. I would have no problem staying there again during cooler weather temps. During higher temps I would definitely prefer something with an AC.

Thanks for that review Jana! During summer it does get hot; but with the front door open with the heavy duty locking screen closed and the back patio screen open the lovely tradewinds come through. And a dip in the pool right below is a great cool off. We do plan to eventually get an air conditioner for those Summer renters in July & August. The best attribute is our location and view of the ocean and turtles right out in front! Location location location! Aloha!

A slice of heaven!

A slice of heaven! Beautiful view! Amazing heated crystal clean pool. Awesome huge lawn. Turtles feeding right at shore. Occasional hammerhead shark strolls by right at shore. Huge famous Sugar Beach two walking blocks away. Beach Bums restaurant four walking blocks away with an awesome breakfast, lunch, dinner. All the rental boat excursions four walking blocks away...snorkel trips....fishing trips....sunset cruise....etc. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION this condo is. Tiki lights light every night. Two awesome bbq's and eating area to cook your fresh caught fish or locally brought. Dinner tables right there at BBQ's or 2 large wooden tables in breezeway. Elevators, gecko's, parking spot. Condo was perfect for my husband and I and our two teenagers. Kitchen stocked. Ice Maker awesome. Beautiful decor. Lanai (balcony) has table for four and a lounge chair. Spent hours hanging out looking for those humpback whales, turtles and monk seal. Not to mention watching all the boats leave the harbor. A slice of heaven! Mahalo

Indeed slice of heaven. Hearing the waves crash at night while sleeping, always able to sit on lanai and look at the ocean seeing whales and turtles, the crystal clear pool for a dip when hot, etc. All are indeed priceless.
