Welcome to the Au Gres /Tawas area on Michigan’s sunrise side- Lake Huron access is right around the corner with a sandy beach, 3 spacious bedrooms and lofted lounging area, fully equipped modern kitchen including new dishwasher and stocked coffee station, open living room with cathedral ceiling, 2 full baths, large covered porch perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails, fire pit ready for roasting marshmallows, outdoor dining with a deck and gas grill. Lawn games and hammocks included- just bring your family, kick back, and enjoy!

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:

Load and start the dishwasher

Strip any used beds and gather used towels

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash

Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys

Don't put any food down the garbage disposal. Food waste will go in the garbage. Put all trash bags in the can outside and put the handles in the locked position

There will be laundry bags for every bedroom and bathroom. Put the used bed linens and bath towels in those bags.

Close and lock all doors and windows. Place the key back in the lock box.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

The indoor fireplace is not available to guests. Rinse sandy feet outside with the hose

Fireworks are not allowed on the property due to insurance requirements. Any violation will result in a departure request without refund.

The no smoking/vaping/weed/no pet policy applies to the porch, interior and the entire property. Violations will have an added deep-cleaning fee.

The home was lovely and very clean. Our only complaint was that the description said water access was a 3 minute walk and views of the water could be seen from the house. It was a three minute walk, but then you had to step down large boulders to get to a very small patch of beach.

Could not have been more enjoyable. Accommodations were as described and the neighborhood is great. Excellent location with a 2 minute walk to the beach. Children and grandchildren loved the place and our adult friends enjoyed the property as it was an easy drive to Tawas for the music festival.

Family vacation

Everything was wonderful, our host was accurate on description of property. The home had everything that you needed and then some. If you rent this home and you forget something, don't worry it's there. The beach was close and qas great that there were beach chairs for us to use. We had an amazing time and we would definitely stay again

Overall, we had an amazing stay! The beach access was beautiful and the home was well-equipped with everything we needed — especially towels, which I really appreciated. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils, and the house was clean and comfortable.That said, we were surprised to find that the home didn’t have central air or any type of cooling unit. With 90 weather during our stay and cooking indoors, the house temperature rose to around 80 even with the windows open and the fans we had to purchase ourselves. Just something to be aware of if you're booking during hotter months.The beach access, while gorgeous, is a bit tricky to navigate and could be considered slightly dangerous depending on mobility.Despite that, we truly enjoyed our time here. With a few adjustments or added info in the listing about cooling, it would be perfect!

My family has enjoyed the “Sunrise Side” of Michigan for more than a decade now. Listening to the waves from the front porch, swimming at the numerous beaches, walking the tree lined roads, or just chilling in a hammock are some of our favorite activities. Snow shoeing and cross country skiing in nearby Tawas are great winter options, and the Tawas Family theatre is perfect for a rainy day. So whether you’re staying for a relaxing weekend or a fun weeklong vacation, I hope you make family memories that will last a lifetime!

What makes this property unique

Sunrise House is a beautiful and spacious vacation home with all the modern amenities you could ask for; fully equipped kitchen with new dishwasher, 2 full bathrooms, stocked coffee station, etc. 3 bedrooms, a large lofted area, and the open living room/kitchen area with a vaulted ceiling offers all the room you need for your family. The large covered porch is perfect for morning coffee, where you can see the sunrise across the the road. The back deck and gas grill are perfect for a BBQ, and the firepit is perfect for roasting marshmallows.
