Great downtown location is perfect for fine dining, sightseeing & entertaining.
Our home is in the heart of Historic Mystic located half way between the Mystic Museum of Art and Captain Daniel Packer Inn and is within easy walking distance to all Downtown Mystic restaurants, shops, and attractions.
This Water Street property is an historic 2-bedroom home constructed in 1845 in the Greek Revival style and offers both 19th century charm and 21st century convenience. It is fully furnished and decorated with an eclectic collection of Americana, period pieces, folk art, curiosities, and other items of local interest. The doors are a bit crooked, the floors slant and the glass in most of the windows is wavy. Keep in mind the home was built prior to modern building codes so the stairs are a bit steeper than modern homes and may be a challenge for guests with a mobility condition. But you will also find Wi-Fi with High-speed internet access, HDTV and state of the art heating and A/C.
On the main floor, you will enjoy a fully appointed galley kitchen equipped with a range/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and microwave oven. You will also find a coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, dishes as well as all essential cooking/eating utensils. There is generous seating in both the dining and living room areas together with remotely controlled lighting and ceiling fans. Sorry, no washer or dryer.
The two bedrooms and the fully renovated bathroom are located on the second floor where you will also find a cozy reading nook with its own great view of the Mystic River. Both bedrooms have queen size beds, a comfortable sitting area, dresser drawers with full size mirrors and plenty of closet space. Recommended occupancy is for parties of four but additional sleeping accommodations can be found in the living room on the queen size convertible sofa bed for larger parties. The single bathroom offers a full-size tub/shower combination and custom vanity/sink. Bedding, linens, and bath towels are provided for the number of guests listed in your reservation.
Our guests with youngsters you will find a highchair in the kitchen, a Pack and Play crib, a crate of juvenile toys in the reading nook, plenty of puzzles, lots of board games and plenty of books, books, and more books. There are playing cards and plenty of great books for adults as well – lots of books.
The elevated front veranda seating area offers an awesome view of the Mystic River and is a great place for people watching. There is a large rear deck with table, chairs, and gas grill right at the foot of historic St. Jago Ledge if you prefer a more intimate setting.
We provide on-site parking for two vehicles or a single vehicle with a modest boat trailer. There is a public boat launch less than a minute’s walk from the front door and transient dockage at Downtown Mystic Marina directly across the street.

Very relaxing weekend getaway with the ladies
This rental property was perfect. The owners supplied everything you could possibly need to make it feel like home away from home. We will definitely resent this space in the future...
Quaint older home within walking distance of town. The beds are comfortable and the house has everything you would need. We loved the town and would definitely stay here again.
Suited our needs perfectly :-)
This house was exactly what we needed for 3 old friends getting together. We were walking distance to downtown but it was nice and quiet with all of our needs met. I highly recommend this property!
Charming and close to downdown
Every detail is thought of in this clean and tidy charming little spot across from the harbor and around the corner from the shops of Mystic. Thanks for having us!
Perfectly comfortable and perfectly located
Possibly one of the best spots in town is the front porch of this home with its harbor views and seeing the coming and going of folks into town, but not right in the midst of it all. Everything is walkable. The home is more than comfortable with an amazing array of antiques, art, period pieces and general decor items. Don’t miss the public library a five minute walk uphill from Michael’s. Michael was very accommodating with early arrival and late checkout and we met his daughter at one of the local establishments so we felt a bit like locals!
A great choice!
Adorable roomie house, walking distance to everything in Mystic, very clean and a nice, responsive owner. High marks all the way around:))
