About Megan Simonds
Kris & I started renting this studio out as an experiment roughly 3 years ago. Little did we know how much interest it would get. Since then we have been married and plan to continue sharing our studio with all of you. We are usually around to answer questions or give recommendations, but leave you all the privacy you need to enjoy your getaway.
Megan Simonds purchased this Studio in 1996
Why Megan Simonds chose Mystic
Going into 2018 will be our fourth year sharing our space on Home away & VRBO. We had no idea how much we'd enjoy having others experience the views and all around relaxing environment of Studio by the sea. Some have said it feels as though you are on a boat, because you can see water from every angle. Sitting out by the water to read or watch the sunset is popular or just taking the short walk into town for happy hour and dinner. Whatever it is your looking for to unwind, this studio is sure to please.
What makes this Studio unique
Swim or paddle right from the property! Have a fire or a picnic inches from the ocean! Walk to town for dinner, drinks, and entertainment. Close to Mystic Seaport and aquarium. Casinos are a twenty minute drive.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the studio. The place is immaculately clean and contemporary, tastefully decorated, very convenient to Mystic attractions, surrounded on three sides by quiet waterways. The owners live upstairs but are absolutely unobtrusive except when being helpful. For peace and quiet, this is the place. Highly recommended.
We had a magical week in Mystic. The studio is beyond beautiful. The setting is breathtaking.
This is a very special place. Megan and Kris made the stay even more enjoyable with their warm hospitality.
This was our second stay, and everything was as pleasant and clean as our previous visit. The "Getaway" is well designed and decorated. The kitchen is a dream to cook in. We think of it as our home away from home for visiting with kids and grandkids.
Our studio by the sea experience was comfortable and relaxing.
The view of the Mystic River/Bay area was exceptional. Windows line the walls to give you a feeling of being on the water when you are eating, lounging and most lovely is to wake up to the call of the sea life there. We took kayaks out several times to explore the smaller river and then around and up the Mystic River past the marinas and under bridges. We walked to downtown Mystic and enjoyed the shops, food and various entertainment to be had. It was a much needed get away for my husband and I and would recommend it highly. Relaxing , relaxing
This is our fourth year of staying at the studio by the sea and it still amazes us at how wonderful this rental is. It has become our annual home away from home.
The studio could not have been better. Wonderful views from every
window, most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Everything provided.
Wished the location was a little closer to the village.
Thank you Kris, Megan, Noah and Jake, .....Jack and Jackie
Mystic is historically a leading seaport of the area and the story of Mystic's nautical connection is told at the Seaport, the nations largest maritime museum. The village is located on the Mystic River which flows into Long Island Sound. The Mystic River Bascule Bridge crosses the river in the center of the village.
