About Pam and Scott Lackman

This is our future retirement home and we can't wait to be here full time – six months to go! We will be sharing our home with our guests until the end of November 2017. We have so enjoyed hearing about the wonderful memories that our guests have made at our home, it has been a great experience! We have truly been blessed to have wonderful people enjoy our home.

We have enjoyed the Lewes/Rehoboth Beach area for the last four decades with family and friends and are happy to now own a home here. We currently live and work in the Lehigh Valley Area of Pennsylvania and visit as much as we can to enjoy the beach and the peaceful setting of our home.

Pam and Scott Lackman purchased this house in 2012

Why Pam and Scott Lackman chose Delaware

We love the closeness to the beach, restaurants and shopping but love to come back to our serene setting on Love Creek.

What makes this house unique

When we were looking for our retirement home we fell in love with the mature trees, the private location, the sunsets over Love Creek and our amazing home.

There is nothing like sitting on the flagstone patio in the morning to greet the day and watch the birds come to visit the feeders and watch the ospreys and bald eagles fly over Love Creek. And then at the end of a busy day at the beach, shopping or sightseeing to come back, sit out on the patio and watch the sunset. And because there are no distracting lights, the stars at night are incredible.

Guestbook comments from the owner

You have a beautiful home – we especially enjoyed the birds being the only “life” noise of the week! Thank you for sharing your home.

A relaxing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This is not a typical beach rental. It’s the owners' future retirement home on a premium lot at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet well maintained subdivision. You truly feel like their welcome guests staying here. The backyard is very private as there are many trees with wetlands and Love Creek beyond. We found it very relaxing to sit in the rocking chairs on the flagstone patio enjoying this natural setting. The great room takes advantage of this view with an abundance of windows. It’s a short drive from this home to Lewes or Rehoboth Beach and all the restaurants and stores you’ll need on your vacation. We were here in October and particularly enjoyed hiking the many trails and walking along the beaches in Cape Henlopen State Park. We also visited the nearby Prime Hook and Bombay National Wildlife Refuges along the Delaware Bay to do some bird watching. If you enjoy ocean beaches, wetlands and viewing wildlife then you'll want to enjoy quality time here with family and/or friends. The owners were very professional and helpful in making our rental reservation.

Rejuvenating & Refreshing!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I just finished a week long stay at this property, and our only regret is not having found this place sooner, so we could have stayed a second week!

Pam, the owner, is a most gracious host. Her emails leading up to the trip were always warm, responsive, and friendly, and their home reflects just that as well. I am impressed that even though this is their final season renting, they still truly desire for each of their guests to have a 5 star experience.

Some Highlights- the back patio, as others have mentioned, was picture perfect. It was so peaceful and private! Every morning my husband and I sat out there in their comfortable chairs with our morning coffee and enjoyed watching the many birds fly in to the feeders. In the evening after the kids were in bed, we were back out there with a cocktail watching the moon rise over the water and the trees. Simply perfect.

The house itself is charming- roomy, well equipped, comfy beds. Our kids enjoyed the pier, and riding their bikes in the cul-de-sac - and I appreciate the safety of the quiet neighborhood for bike riding. We also enjoyed the community pool a couple days- there was a decent amount of young families there, which was a pleasant surprise for our kids.

During our stay, we enjoyed the waves at Rehoboth beach, the tranquility of Lewes Bay, Funland/the boardwalk, and some great restaurants that we've always loved, as well as some new ones- Surfing Crab, grottos on the boards, Crust and Craft, pickled Pig Pub, bluecoast.

This was our first experience renting through VRBO/Home Away, and I'm so glad it was here.

Thank you Lackmans, for sharing your cozy, beautiful home with us! Best wishes on your future retirement. Peace, Love and Crabs 😊🦀❤️

Fourth of July Week

  • 5 of 5

We had an outstanding time. Beautiful home with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. We got a lot of use out of the community pool, which was uncrowded almost every time we visited. Relaxing on the back patio, we did a lot of bird-watching and also saw a few deer throughout the week. Watched the fireworks from the patio on July 3. Generally, considering traffic, it usually took from 10 to 30 minutes to drive to Lewes Beach, restaurants, or the Rehoboth boardwalk. All in all, this was probably the best vacation house we have rented in any of the locations we've visited over the years. Thanks to Pam and Scott for the use of your home.

Owner's Response: The July 4th week is always the most crowded at the beach and it is so nice that we have the neighborhood pool just a short walk away during this busy time of year. And with the lap lanes and the never crowded pool area it is like having your own private pool. And thanks to our neighbor across Love Creek, we always have our own fireworks display without having to leave the patio! We are so delighted to have our home provide such a great vacation experience. We have been so fortunate to have wonderful guests that appreciate all our home has to offer. Thank you for your very kind words, it is very special to us that you found our home to be one of the best in your vacation experience.
