About Katy Zappala
Our house was built in the early 1900s as a summer house. Our parents purchased the property in 1961, and had the house winterized in the late sixties. In the 70s, the upper bedroom was added and the house split into two units. The four sisters (Charlotte, Hilary, Jenny & Katy) now own Little Neck and continue enjoying swimming, fishing and kayaking in the river with their families, as we hope will you!

Absolutely breath taking location
Just came back from a week at Little Neck with the kids and dog. What a spot! We brought our boat and tied right up to the dock which was a huge plus. We explored the Slocum River and Buzzards Bay all week. I had an issue with the boat and the owners put me in touch with a marina to help with the problem. If you love the ocean, this spot is for you.
We're so glad you had an enjoyable week at Little Neck! It sounds as if you enjoyed the Slocum River and the Bay as much as we did as kids, and do now as adults. We hope you come back sometime!
Great Holiday Weekend, Best View!
We had a fantastic holiday weekend at Little Neck! The home is very charming and has one of the best views in town. The home was plenty big enough for my group of 9 though we spent most of our time watching the birds from the porch and swimming of the dock.
Thanks so much for staying at Little Neck! We're so glad you have a pleasant holiday weekend!
Beautiful spot, lovely and comfortable home, exceeded my expectations!
Little Neck is a beautiful spot, upon arrival, it took my breath away, the pictures cannot capture the magnificence of the place. Surrounded by the water, the conservation land, so beautiful and quiet. The house was comfortable and very well equipped for for our multi-generational long weekend. With places to be together and for separate/alone time, everyone was happy! It felt like home. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Pamela, for your kind words! You seem to have enjoyed Little Neck as much as we do! We hope you return for another stay. Katy
A beautiful location, very comfortable home!
Recently our family gathered in South Dartmouth for the wedding of our son. We chose Little Neck because of the beautiful location, room for extra family & friends and so that we could bring along our dog.
The entire week was rainy and cool, but we could still enjoy the beauty of nature all around us; the deer; waterfowl; watching rowers and fishing boats; Buzzards Bay and Cuttyhunk in the distance.
The home had everything we needed: linens, towels, cooking utensils etc. The family photos and other memorabilia added to the warmth and welcome. An additional bonus for us was that the owner looked in on our dog while we were at the wedding festivities.
A very wet week at Little Neck was actually a most "sunny" week for our family. We would love to visit again.
We're so glad you had a pleasant week and wedding even with the weather!
We hope you return for some sunny weather!
Thanks for staying at Little Neck!
It was home, and we didn't want to leave
Little Neck became our home as soon as we crossed the threshold. Even though it was our first visit, it was if we had been there many times before. For our family the location on the water and surrounded by acres of nature preserve was ideal for its solitude, quiet, and chance to fish, walk, and swim. We ranged from 91 years of age to 8 and everyone was happy. The numerous books and comfortable chairs and couches made it hard sometimes to want to go outdoors. in addition to a variety of fiction the Little Neck library holds many natural history guides and other useful books for our stay, including cookbooks. Many of us talked about how content we could be there even in the winter months. The kitchen had everything we need, and we are a family of cooks and food lovers. Our hosts were easy to work with and eager to ensure our stay was pleasant. The views from the house, including from many rooms and the porch, reach out to the Slocum River as it meanders through marsh and just past the house, and the out to Buzzards Bay and beyond to Cuttyhunk Island.
What a lovely letter! It sounds as if you enjoyed your stay as much as we do when we can get there! Please come back anytime!
A remarkable spot for a vacation
Our large family stayed at Little Neck for a week. Situated on a bluff overlooking the mouth of the Slocum River with its very own dock, the house offered us more than we could have asked for. The house had plenty of sleeping space and privacy for everyone - so nice to have so many bathrooms! We appreciated the "homeyness" of the decor - lots of family photos and much-read books - as it is clear that the house enjoyed many years of being inhabited by people who loved it. The kitchen is very small but has what you need to cook for lots of people. The children loved playing on the dock, catching crabs and jumping into the water. We rented kayaks which enabled us to cross to a sandy beach on the Bay.
We also loved being in the middle of a nature preserve with plenty of trails and an informative nature center. Little Neck is close enough to grocery stores and restaurants but entirely in its own world. Charlotte took care of the occasional, insignificant glitches. Her cookies are delicious! We can't recommend Little Neck highly enough.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Little Neck! It sounds just like our childhood vacations there!
