This house has two first floor bedrooms both with twin beds and two second floor bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a double bed, both looking out to the ocean. There is a half bath on the second floor; a full bath with tub and shower on the first floor; and a covered outside shower.
Two large family rooms provide ample space for everyone to relax and enjoy their favorite activity. Relax in front of the flat screen TV, play your favorite DVDs, or enjoy a board game with family and friends. For readers, a library of books waits for your use in the second floor sitting room. The house is delightfully furnished.
The ocean can be seen from most of the rooms in this oceanfront house situated on a slight bluff with breathtaking panoramic views of South Shore Beach and the Goosewing Nature Preserve. Beyond stretch Cuttyhunk Island and the cliffs of Martha’s Vineyard. Enjoy spectacular sunrises, colorful sunsets, and moonlit nights on the deck spanning the entire oceanfront and side of the home. Fall asleep to the peaceful rhythm of the waves 250 feet from your window. Combine an oceanside experience with your morning coffee or evening lobster bake on the deck, or the kitchen-dining area overlooking the water, or on the sitting rocks along the beach. Fly kites, play croquet or badminton in the expansive yard, or watch ospreys fishing as they travel along the coast that is your front yard.

Complete your day with scoops of ice cream at Gray’s Ice Cream.
This magical setting is a short walk to popular South Shore Beach and Goosewing Beach Preserve, a pristine and scenic 75-acre stretch operated by the Nature Conservancy. Coastal ponds flank both ends of the Preserve, making it one of the top birdwatching spots in the RI. For a change of scene, drive to Horseneck Beach and State Reservation in nearby Westport, MA, one of the most popular facilities in the Massachusetts State Forests and Parks system
Little Compton enjoys warmer water than the rest of New England because Cape Cod blocks the cold Labrador currents from reaching the south facing beaches in RI, allowing warmer water from the Gulf Stream to penetrate the area's waters. As a result, South Shore and Goosewing beaches are popular with swimmers and surfers. We provide enough boogie boards for the entire family, as well as a surfboard for the surfer in the family.
When Andrea Oseas and Gary Jefferson are not in Little Compton, they live in Cambridge and Newton, MA. Andrea is an artist and writer who also teaches and coaches in the area of management communication. Gary is an economist on the faculty at Brandeis University, where his research focuses on innovation and development in China. Andrea’s son, Jesse, who loves to surf, was the first to discover Little Compton, which enjoys the reputation as one of the best surfing spots in New England. Gary’s two older daughters, Sarah and Annie, live in London and Paris; youngest child, Sam, is a senior and basketball player at Newton North High School. The couple shares a love of family and friends, outdoors, biking, swimming hiking, writing, and a variety of creative pursuits.
Gary Jefferson and Andrea Oseas purchased this house in 2014
We fell for 50 Ocean Drive the instant we saw it. We’d heard about the charms of Little Compton, and were enthralled by the ever-present ocean views, pastoral charm, and comparatively easy access. The waterfront location, with stunning views and close proximity to South Shore Beach and the Goosewing Nature Preserve make #50 Ocean Drive particularly special.
Everything about this house says ocean. Virtually everywhere you look, your eye meets the majestic Atlantic. To sit on our bench beside the ocean, with the waves lapping, is to experience true tranquility.
From the moment you walk in the front door of Oceana, the panoramic views to the ocean are breathtaking. This beautiful oceanfront home is situated so that every window and the expansive deck accommodate endless views. Oceana is very comfortable and well appointed for every need. The house is located in a neighborhood of tranquility and privacy, yet close to nearby shopping and sight seeing tours. The beach within a short walk is an added bonus. Andrea and Gary were very easy to work with and were always available and helpful. We had a wonderful vacation the week we were there, and plan to return.

What an unexpected treat to spend the 4th of July at this beautiful ocean side cottage. We could see fireworks on the nearby beach and in 8 (we counted) other locations from our deck. We launched our kayaks right from the rocky shores in front of the yard. South Shore beach is walking distance but we found it easier and more convenient to just invest in the week pass, so we could come and go with our vehicle loaded with umbrellas and beach chairs. Great waves, warm water and a very clean beach. Had to go early for a spot on the weekend but very quiet during the week. We swam every day. The house itself is charming and accommodated our extended family without a problem. Everyone loved the space. The owners are lovely people and very responsive. A wonderful setting for some fun and relaxation. Enjoyed ourselves immensely and plan to return again.
This place is magical. Waves hitting the rocky shore -- hypnotic. Beach rocks in beautiful pastels -- art. The bird life -- yellow, black, brown, blue, white, warbling, wading, paddling, flitting, soaring – uplifting. Bonfire on the beach. Sinking your toes into the sand. A cozy home, with room for everyone to gather and rooms for everyone to be in their own space. A kitchen with everything you need, open so family can keep the chef company. Dining outside, with the ocean as a backdrop. The ocean through almost every window. Sunset painting the ocean pink and purple. Comfy beds. I can’t wait to go back. Until then, I do, often, in my mind.
We rented this property for a week in April 2015. We were 6 adults and 2 children. We really enjoyed the house and had a lovely vacation week in Little Compton. The property is beautiful and the views astonishing, particularly at dawn. It is conveniently located near a nice beach (about 800m), and relatively near to supermarkets and grocery stores (about a 5-10 minutes drive). The owner was really nice and polite. I enjoy cooking and think the kitchen was well-equipped and comfortable. It was also nice to find a lot of towels in the bathroom. The house has 1.5 restrooms and an outside shower, which we did not use because it was too cold (we did not swim at the beach either). You need a car if you want to get some groceries or go to a restaurant. Overall, the property is beautiful and a great place if you want some quiet vacations.
This property offers panoramic ocean views from most of the rooms. Plenty of plein-air entertaining can be done on the decks or a cookout on the rocks. The lawn is great for summer sports. Nearby is a quaint center commons, picturesque harbor, and unspoiled beaches. There are plenty of hiking trails around the immediate region, and incredible biking on relatively flat terrain.
