Absolutely amazing experience. Location was perfect and the communication with the host was ideal. Really awesome location with convenient spots. We all had a great experience and appreciate the hosts hospitality. The outdoor space is the highlight for sure!
A beautiful stay for families. You can spread out in the two homes in the property. The place down by the water for fires.. is wonderful. We had a wonderful time and made many memories.
The house is gorgeous. Perfect location for outdoor activities. We did a lot of fishing. Close by to shops, restaurants and Newport. The week was just perfect. Ann was very accommodating, helpful, and responsive. Fantastic Vrbo experience!
We really enjoyed out stay in Tiverton. The house was well equipped, we enjoyed the kayaks and canoes, and yard was perfect for yard games and hanging out.
We booked this property for a multi-generational family trip, it was the perfect setting and location for all ages. We loved having easy access to all the local attractions. We kayaked, canoed, watched the sunset from the hammocks, sat by the fire everyday! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and community with us! We will be back!
The house was amazing. We celebrated a 40th birthday for my wife. We had a couple other families stay with us and there was plenty of space between the main house and guest house! Entertaining on the property was easy with large patio and picnic table as well as a large kitchen and table that seats at least 10. Owner and property manager were great to work with. The kitchen had everything we needed. Large mixing bowls, large pots, plenty of dishes and cutlery and any appliance you could think of. The views of the water are spectacular. The property is expansive front and back. The kids enjoyed the water and all the activities the place had to offer. Can't say enough great things about the house!
The property was great, being so close to the water was so nice. 10 degrees cooler down by the water. The kayaks and all the games were so nice to have. The house fit us well and so glad there was air conditioning.
Anne was wonderful to work with.
Our family had a great time.
beautiful property and private location. we had lots of space for gathering of family and friends. the kids enjoyed the guest house. Everything we needed was there. kitchen supplies were great! our favorite part was waking up with a beautiful view of the water!!

Our family had a wonderful vacation here. Plenty of room and privacy. We had great weather and enjoyed being outside. Well equipped house. Could use some TLC and the bushes need trimming. Anne and Terrance were very accommodating.

Deanna, I greatly appreciate you talking the time to write a review and value your feedback. Could I ask what type of TLC you think the property needs? I'm always try to improve it and your insight will help.
Thanks,
Michael
We enjoyed every part of our weekend. We booked to accommodate friends and family for a wedding at Blithewold and this was the perfect spot. Lots of comfortable beds, a large kitchen, and a stunning setting on the water. We had a fire in the firepit, kayaked, and walked over to Evelyn’s for lobster rolls. The caretaker, Anne, was gracious and easy to communicate with. Thank you for a great weekend!
We were a family of 14 ages 7-74 The outdoor space was wonderful and provided so many fun filled activities. The inside space was great but bathrooms could use a little updating. The property manager was very responsive with all of our needs. Note to others - the guest cottage first floor bedroom is an open area with no privacy. It worked well for our group that had a family of 5 staying there. We had a wonderful time.
Our family stayed here for our daughter's wedding in Providence. The home and property are just beautiful! Everyone had a comfy bed and enjoyed their stay. The grounds and inside of the home were perfect for pictures of the bridal party and the water views are gorgeous! Would love to come back for a summer vacation! Thank you very, very much!

10 of us gathered for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The water views and sunsets are spectacular. The house fit us all comfortably (beds, big dinning room table, etc). (Note that the guest house downstairs and upstairs loft are open spaces so you need to adding rooms accordingly.) Anne, Terrence, and Michael were great on communication. Would definitely come back.
12 of us stayed at the house for a wedding weekend in Newport. All was fabulous - great location, great amenities and lots of space for sleeping and relaxing for all of us! Just sad we didn’t have the time to really use the waterfront with kayaks, etc. Yard is beautiful with wonderful flowers and waterfront pier. Great privacy. May stay here again next year when we have another family wedding in Newport!!! You can’t go wrong between the house and the guesthouse - a winner property!

Beautiful property, missing niceties
While the views and yard are wonderful and the home is charming, it is missing some of the nice details/updates. For example, kitchen faucet leaks, bathroom water is brassy/yellow, towels are well-loved, etc. If you are low maintenance and laid-back just looking for beautiful views on the water, this is the spot for you. Owners are very nice and responsive.

Laurie, I'm just seeing your review and am disappointed and taken back. After extending myself and allowing you to rent in April which I explained was our off season and that the house had been shuttered; and then allowing you to book a business group and reducing the minimum stay by a day and after you left the house a mess and apparently damaged one of the dining chairs, you rated us as if we were a business venue with inadequate amenities. We've never gotten a rating below 4 stars and regularly get 5 stars. In the future, I suggest you either rent a business venue or better advise the owner of your needs.
This house was perfect for our large group of girls. We loved having the backyard to hang out in and the picnic table is great for eating outside. The pictures do not do the property justice! Even though we didn’t have the best weather, some of the girls were still able to take kayaks out! The inside has plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The kitchen had everything we could have ever needed for our meals! They had thought of everything.
I would absolutely make a point to return to this house.

About the host
Hosted by Anne/Property Manager
Purchased in 2017 for family use and rental the new owners are from the New York area and are steadily improving the property as they plan their future retirement. Guests continue to benefit from the continual upgrades. This spectacular family compound is peaceful, private, charming and well appointed.
Why they chose this property
Only direct waterfront property in the Tiverton/Little Compton area that can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people on a private wooded 3.3 acre compound with gorgeous water views of the cove and sunsets. Private dock allows for swimming, fishing, and boating. Perfectly situated between Newport and Providence and up the road from historic, undiscovered and undeveloped Little Compton, the house is an ideal base to access nearby beaches, hiking trails, golf, wineries fine dining, fishing sailing and marine activities, farm and nature preserves.
Bucolic and quaint, Tiverton, Rhode Island is an old new England town, founded in 1694. Its rich history begins with the landing of the pilgrims, the Indian wars and the American Revolution. Main Road is one of America's most scenic drives winding 9 miles South along the wide Sakkonnet river thru farmlands and estates in Little Compton, RI. ending at ocean beaches.
What makes this property unique
Situated 60 minutes from Boston and 25 miles East of Providence, 20 minutes from Newport and the historic whaling town of New Bedford there are endless opportunities for exploration. The Main House vine covered patio faces west down the manicured lawn to the water. The new owners, who have a close relationship with the previous owners, continue improvements year after year and plan to one day retire to the home and so treat the home as their own. Rental guests are often greeted with fresh bouquets from the garden which is typically filled with fresh herbs, vegetables and flowers.
