Relax and enjoy your vacation at this newly remodeled home on your own private 2 acres and 200' of pristine Lake Michigan shoreline This Cape Cod style home has a coastal cottage feel with hardwood floors, painted woodwork, granite countertops and tall vaulted ceiling.
The exterior is all cedar including the large relaxing deck overlooking Lake Michigan. Majestic Cedars, Hemlocks, and Maples tower around the home.
The shoreline boasts a great view with shallow water making it great for kids.
You can take in the beautiful views from the large wrap around deck or stroll down to the water's edge where we have additional seating and table. Relax and enjoy your morning coffee with gorgeous sunrises. Then finish your day off with your favorite beverage and take in the reflective sunsets.
You can go for walks along the shoreline, skipping stones along the way or walk down the private drive viewing the abundant wild flowers and beautiful woods. Watch for various wildlife such as Deer, Turkey, Wood Chucks, Eagles, Swans, Pelicans and many more woodland creatures. Walk a little further and explore the Heins Creek Nature Preserve, with it's winding creek that flows between Kangaroo Lake and Lake Michigan.
You can enjoy gathering around the fire pit by the shoreline for roasting marshmallows and telling your favorite stories beneath the bright starry sky.
The location is perfect; not in the middle of the noisy busy part of the county, yet centrally located and close enough to get most places in under 10 minutes.
Enjoy the abundant recreation of Door County such as; winery tours, golf, kayaking, zip lining canopy tours, Cana Island light house tours, performing arts, galleries, world class salmon and walleye fishing, hiking, wind surfing, sailing, diving on shipwrecks, romantic sunsets, and ongoing festivals. There are also endless dining opportunities to experience.
A great place in Baileys Harbor to check out is Lake Shore Adventures. They have glass bottom kayak tours of ship wrecks, Salmon fishing charters, zip lining canopy tours at Ridges Sanctuary, and lots of rentals (kayaks, jet skis, bikes, pontoon boats). Their office is located in downtown Baileys Harbor and they have a great website.
You'll find yourself relaxed and very comfortable in this home away from home without breaking the bank. We also have a similar remodeled home between Baileys Harbor and Sister Bay with beautiful views of Cana Island. This home also has a 5 star rating, VRBO # 699521.

Our family recently purchased this beautiful property and had it remodeled with new wood floors, kitchen cabinets with granite tops, air conditioning, carpeting... and the list goes on. We fell in love with this location in Door County long ago and built our own home less than a mile from here.
Chris purchased this House in 2013
Why Chris chose Baileys Harbor
We love this area of Door County with its pristine shorelines, mature trees and abundant wildlife. Door County resembles the Atlantic Coast of New England with its rugged limestone shorelines and bluffs. This home is located away from all the noise and congestion of other areas yet is conveniently located to most activities of Door County in less than 10 minutes. We love outdoor activities such as going to the beach, hiking endless trails, kayaking or paddle boarding by the light houses and bays, world class King Salmon, Small-mouth Bass and trophy Walleye fishing, golfing, awesome kiteboarding and its all right here without the noise and congestion of traffic. There is also very fine dining in all of the towns in Door County wether you like steaks and seafood, Italian or a Friday fish fry. Door County boasts several wineries as well as art and theatre entertainment. Every weekend there is a festival in one or more of the nearby towns. We find that one summer is not enough time to take it all in, but we love trying. We are very excited to be able to offer such a great property for you to enjoy your vacation at and we care about your visit being memorable.
What makes this House unique
The open great room with many windows and views of the water make this home ideal. Step outside through the double doors onto the huge cedar deck and take in the beauty of the large trees and sounds of the waves on the shore. Go for a long walk down the private drive that leads to this home and pick Thimble Berries or go further and explore the nature preserve at the end of the road.

Lovely home and a gorgeous view! So incredibly charming & quaint.
I would highly recommend this great home. Bring your 4-legged friends too! The lofted area is great for kids and the downstairs bedrooms for the adults.
Amazing location, great place for a family of 6! Owners very responsive and home is nice and clean!
Home is very neat and clean, great fireplace, comfortable beds, and quick to respond owners. Top it off with sunrise views over the lake and you are all set! Quiet woods location and water front views through trees. We will be back!
Christmas in Door county 2014
Lovely home, comfortable space with lots of hiking and beautiful view of Lake Michigan.
We are very glad you enjoyed your 2017 Christmas in Door County. We also hiked the neigboring nature preserve on Christmas day and saw a gorgeous snowy owl and several large trout swimming in the creek. We hope you will visit us again! Chris and Robin
It's A Shore Thang!
This lovely Cap Cod has more to offer than listed. Driving through the canopy of trees through the lush grounds before arriving to the home that sit's before breath taking water views is Amazing. The wrap around porch is a bonus - to sit outside and hear the waves was a highlight. Spacious rooms, all new interior and extremities and decor was put together with a theme of Cap Cod charm and great taste. We had a memorable stay and look forward to many more to come. Communication between the owner and client was spot on. Thank You!!
We are pleased you enjoyed your holiday visit. It is a wonderful location to relax and unwind. We look forward to your future visits!

Four of us enjoyed our stay. Furnished nicely, nice remote location, extremely quiet which was perfect for us. Looking forward to the next time...

we enjoyed it a lot !!! Very clean and well equipped. Would recommend to everyone! Loved being away from hustle bustle of the other side but close enough to drive over when we wanted to. My only suggestion is maybe consider a campfire pit up from the water also we would have sat out there at night, but the one by the water is cool, just can't use your camp chairs there and at night a little risky getting down there and up, but that is just our opinion. We all enjoyed the house so much and it was so beautiful with the fall colors Thank you for sharing your house!!!!
Ray and Amy,
Glad you enjoyed our beautiful home. It's hard to beat for a central location with peace and quite. The shoreline has gotten narrowed this year by the rising water levels in Lake Michigan. We are looking at a different location for our fire pit and plan to relocate it for next season unless the lake level goes back down.
We look forward to your next visit!

Baileys Harbor is conveniently located among many of the Northern Door County communities. We boast over 6,000 acres of natural areas to explore including the Ridges Sanctuary. A favorite activity is the new zipline overlooking the Ridges Sanctuary. We go every year and it's always a great time! You can hike, bike and kayak to your heart's continent around Baileys Harbor. There are three lighthouses in Baileys. Cana Island just north of town is open to the public and you may even climb to the top of this working light house. Another is the Bird Cage light house on a private island in Baileys that can be viewed up close by Kayaking or taking a boat tour from Lake Shore Adventures. Then there is the light house that is now part of the Ridges Sanctuary with a long boardwalk leading up from the public beach. There is world class King Salmon and Rainbow Trout fishing off Baileys Harbor. Catch your trophy or at least some fine table fare for the grill during your stay. Again see Lake Shore Adventures for Charters or the latest fishing report if you have your own boat. On a windy day go almost anywhere in Baileys and watch the kite boarders doing there acrobatics across the waves. There can be a dozen kites going at any given time. If your real adventurous you can snorkel or dive various ship wrecks scattered across the Lake Michigan bottom. Again see Lake Shore Adventures for scuba and snorkel equipment, guided tours, or glass bottom kayaks to view the wrecks. There are endless things to do in DC no matter what you prefer to do. One of the best parts about staying at our home is the location. It is tranquil and relaxing yet convenient to all the attractions. Enjoy your activities during the day and come home to peace and relaxation.
