Our home is in a prime location and part of historic downtown Phoenix. The Ashland House originally was a bunk house for the Heard family ranch hands, built in the 1920's. We think you’ll experience the same peace, relaxation and enjoyment that we do when you come to stay!
There’s so much to experience in downtown Phoenix within just a few miles of our home. Take a morning walk to a local coffee shop or an early afternoon walk for lunch or happy hour at Humble Pie, Durants, The Main Ingredient, Switch, Sochu House or any number of other restaurants – all less than one-half mile away. Get on the light rail and go for an adventure or straight to the ballgame.

A kitchen with Corian counters, updated appliances, and ample kitchenware make cooking in this kitchen better than being at home. The only decision you’ll need to make is whether to eat in or at one of the numerous establishments nearby. One of the most popular places in the house isn't in the house at all - it's in the fabulous covered areas in the landscaped backyard. There is a 4 person jacuzzi in the backyard to help make the stay even more pleasurable.

Located within 2 miles from the I-10, 51, and 202 freeways, and just two miles north of the original downtown Phoenix, this house will allow everyone easy and quick access to everything there is to do in the Valley. Located within 10 minutes from the downtown Convention Center, Chase Field, US Airways Center, the Encanto Golf Course and Phoenix Country Club, the Phoenix Art Museum, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, the Heard Museum, and the Arizona Fair Grounds– this neighborhood is also renowned for its great locally owned bistros and cafes and its close proximity to a lively art and theater scene. A short 15 minute drive gets you to Sky Harbor Airport, world-class shopping, spas, and golf at the famous Arizona Biltmore, the Desert Botanical Gardens, the Phoenix Zoo, ASU and Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe and Tempe Town Lake, and the beautiful Phoenix Mountain Preserve.

We’re centrally located and a great place to stay if you are coming for the spring training games – or if you want to launch off to explore Sedona, the Grand Canyon, or one of the many other natural wonders, National Parks and National Monuments Arizona has to offer (did you know Arizona has more National Monuments than any other U.S. State?)

About the owner: We are retired educators who enjoy staying in comfortable and quaint homes when we vacation. We live in Phoenix (my wife is a native) and wouldn't move anywhere else. We went to school here, our children and relatives all live here too. We have made this property a place we would stay in if we were visiting Phoenix.
