Overview

About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin with calm sound and sunset views

Welcome to tranquility! Step back in time on Anderson Island, virtually unchanged in the past several decades.

Watch brilliant sunsets and eagles soar over the calm waters of south puget sound, which are perfect for kayaking (available for rent on the island), standup paddle boarding, and even swimming during the hot summer months. Wake up to orcas, porpoises, seals and otters splashing in the sound, and deer walking the beach.

The company that owns this site has recently changed its structure and is now requiring online booking and charging more to customers - please contact me directly to book.

If you enjoy the simple beauty of nature, glorious sunsets, collecting sea shells and finishing the day with s'mores by the fire, this is the place for you.

Our rustic cabin, which has been used by our family for generations, is not luxurious, but it is cozy, comfy, and boasts beautiful views of the sound and is surrounded by an enormous lawn, perfect for family activities (and tent camping). There are two bedrooms: the master with a queen bed and full bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has twin beds, which can be pushed together to create a king. There is a second full bathroom with tub. The cozy living room with breathtaking views of sound has a gas fireplace and pullout queen sofa. The kitchen has all the essentials for cooking, a breakfast bar, table/chairs, and the outdoor fire pit is perfect for roasting s'mores. There is a gas bbq out on the deck, along with picnic table and umbrella.

Very peaceful beach house

  • 5 of 5

Amazing sunsets and a lot of beach for the dogs to run on! A little bit tricky to get on the property; my car was struggled a bit with part of the winding steep driveway when leaving. But otherwise, we had a great time here and would go back again.

Even better than the pictures!!

  • 5 of 5

This quiet cottage on the sea was an amazing, peaceful place. We went for 6 nights, and should have stayed longer.

We were a party of six, 2 grandparents, 2 adults and 2 children. You would think that we would have been tripping all over eachother, but in reality there was so much to do that we were only all in the house at night. Even at night we didn't feel crowded.

The kids (ages 11 and 13) were constantly entertained by the ocean. There were crabs to play with. There were birds, seals, and dolphins to watch. There were endless hours of getting the clams (or mussels, I don't really know) to spit water at them during low tide. There was a hammock to rock and read in. Although there was nothing official to do, the kids were always busy.

As for the adults, we brought our two sit on top kayaks with us. The water was always calm enough to paddle around on. There was a little park that we could paddle to down the beach. It is not a park with play equipment, but rather a little preserve. There were also trails to walk or jog on on the island. And don't forget the back deck. The sunsets were spectacular every night that we were there.

The cottage was rustic and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. There were plenty of supplies. The shower in the main bathroom was delightful, with perfect water pressure.

The owners were very easy to work with. They didn't balk at us bringing our Great Dane mix. They were very nice when we messed up and accidentally stayed later than we were supposed to. (Check out time is 11 am :) ) All in all, if they will have us back, we will be going again.

Perfect for a weekend away with friends

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was quiet, well stocked, and cozy. It was perfect for a women's weekend away from Seattle. We had a campfire, a BBQ, walks along the beach, and our dog loved the freedom to swim and roam. The water was calm enough that we paddle boarded just offshore.

Thanks for having sun hats available, they came in handy while having drinks on the deck.

Excellant choice

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful setting reminded me of summers at Holly Beach on Hoods Canal. Lots of wildlife and beautiful sunsets. Comfortable cabin with everything but clothes and food. Ample firewood and shooting stars. Prompt deposit refund. Owners are easy to work with.

We will be back.
