Why Ric chose Ennis
The Madison River Anglers Rest and Retreat at 33 Last Best Place offered a perfect fit for our needs. Outstanding views, closeness to the Madison, and its ideal location in respect to Yellowstone National Park and Bozeman made this a choice we could not pass on. Certainly the ability to be at any of the classic fly fishing destinations in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming within a 1-3 hours was also a huge factor. Also, with the address number '33' matching Ric's jersey number in high school and college, this was meant to be!
What makes this House unique
As you will see, great attention was given to the quality of design and decor at The Madison River Anglers Rest. Whether it is the views of the Madison Valley and the Madison Range as a backdrop or the decor touches throughout the home, you will want to return to stay time after time.

Great Place to Stay
Great house, close to town but very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable and well appointed. Owner was on-site and able to make recommendations about local attractions, food, etc....we look forward to staying at this property again on future trips.
Best rental in Ennis!
Our family had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful home. The view is sensational! It was extremely clean and had everything you would want in a rental. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet. The kitchen was stocked with all the items you would need to cook any size meal. We loved the plates with the fish! We will definitely go back when we visit. The owner was wonderful to work with. I can't say enough! Don't miss your opportunity to enjoy this amazing home. This is truly paradise in Montana!
Cindy and I are happy that you had an enjoyable time "back Home" in Ennis. We appreciate your gracious review and glad you found The Madison River Anglers' Rest to your liking. Last, thanks for taking great care of the place during your stay.
Madison River Angler's Rest
The best description from our group of four would be to say it was "perfect" in every way! The Layout of the house was comfortable, relaxing and nicely furnished. We enjoyed the back deck with the backdrop of the Montana mountains in view. It's a great place to enjoy your morning coffee and quiet evenings for reading.
The house was thoroughly equipped for every possible need. The guys had a great day of guided fishing in the Madison Valley River, we loved Yellowstone and Virginia City. The little town of Ennis has wonderful choices for eating out, great shops and the people are very friendly. We loved every minute and would love to return to these comfortable surroundings again in the future.
Thank you Ric for sharing your home and for making our stay one of the best we have experienced in our travels.
We have rented many properties all over the USA and were very pleased with our stay at the Anglers Rest. The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and stocked with lots of everyday items. The beds, linens and towels (plenty of towels) were all great. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed
The location was very quiet yet only minutes from downtown.
This is a great place to relax.
The owner was easy to contact and a pleasure to deal with.
Great Views and Location
We just returned from four nights at the Madison River Anglers Rest and can recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a beautiful home in a quiet location in Ennis with great views of the mountains. The location was in a residential area on the edge of Ennis, a short drive down a well-maintained gravel road but just a few minutes drive to Ennis restaurants and shops. The house had plenty of room with a huge master bedroom and bath, and then with two smaller bedrooms rooms with a shared bath that was perfect for our grown children. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking or grilling (though we enjoyed the Alley and Banditos restaurants too). The house was well maintained, well decorated, and very clean, with newly refinished floors. The house has terrific uninterrupted views out the back, over the Madison River valley, to the mountains. We enjoyed the sunrise over the mountain peak with morning coffee and we enjoyed the evening views as the mountains caught the last of the setting sun. What a retreat! For fishermen, the house is just a few minutes drive to wading access for the Madison, and it was nice that my wife could drop me off while she used the car. Overall we had a great vacation and thoroughly enjoyed using the house as our base of operations for our family get-away.
Dave and Deb,
I'm so glad your stay turned out well. We appreciate the kind words about our Madison River Angler's Rest, and especially the great care you bestowed on it during you visit.
The perfect Madison River accommodations
My wife and I stayed at the Anglers' Rest in Ennis during the last two weeks of June 2014. The home is in the best location for anyone interested in fishing the Madison as well as the many surrounding mountain lakes and streams. It is located within the city of Ennis and is also within walking distance of downtown and therefore close to all of its amenities and shopping. The house is very private and has the best views of the surrounding mountains. The home has a very well equipped kitchen, a large living / family room with large screen HD tv and reliable WiFi. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and well appointed. For the fly fisherman, there are five public wade-in fishing access sites all within approximately 15 minutes of the home (actually, all but one is within an approximate 5 minute drive of the home). And the Ruby River is approximately a 25 minute drive away. For the non-fisherman, Virginia City and Nevada City are a short 15 drive from the home. My wife and I are already making plans to return next year. You can not find a better location nor a better value than the Anglers' Rest.
Yellowstone National Park, southeast of Ennis, is a beautiful, 50 minute drive away. If city amenities attract you, go to Bozeman, another picturesque, 50 minute drive to the northeast. Virginia City, a historic gold rush town, is 30 minutes away.
