The Edelweiss Condominiums at Whitefish Mountain resort is the premier location for your winter or summer vacation. Located across a small parking lot from the main chairlifts with a gorgeous view of the entire Flathead Valley, you can't find a better or closer location. Immediately next door to the Bierestube and across the street from Ed & Mully's restaurant and just a short walk from the famous Hellroaring Saloon the Edelweiss condos are right in the heart of the village. The condo is also 30 miles or ~45 minutes from West Glacier National Park

Unit #312 is the largest unit in the complex at around 1100 SF after a recent full remodel which added a vaulted living room ceiling and an upstairs loft. The upstairs bedroom has a set of twin log beds and an extra long twin daybed + trundle that can be made into 2 more twins or a king. The upstairs loft has a double futon sofa sleeper. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. There is one full bathroom up and one full bathroom down. The upstairs has a kid's TV and Wii video game area. The living area has all new log furniture, a real wood fireplace, and a balcony overlooking all of the flathead valley. This is a top (3rd) floor unit with some of the best views on the mountain.

There is a laundry room in the facility along with a sauna, seasonal hot tub, and private ski locker off the main lobby.

Parking is available for 1 car at the condominium. Additional cars may park in Whitefish Mountain Resort Lots per resort policies.

About Charlie Hall

My wife and I have two girls aged 12 and 14 and we love to spend our winters in the mountains skiing. We totally fell in love with Whitefish Mountain Resort and the town of Whitefish during ski trips to the area. We live on Camano Island on Puget Sound in Washington State. We love boating and spending time on the water in the summer and on the snow in the winter. When we aren't at our condo in Montana we can be found in our RV slopeside at Stevens Pass, or out on Puget Sound boating.

Why Charlie Hall chose Whitefish

You can't beat the quality of the skiing, the community, and the convenience of getting to Whitefish by either train, plane, or driving. We purchased this property because of the incredible value and location. You can't get closer to the village or the chairlifts than the Edelweiss condominiums. When we saw this top floor unit we realized its great potential with a little remodeling. The low ceiling was removed revealing a large vaulted ceiling and allowing for the addition of a new loft. Now this unit has plenty of room for the skiing family with room to spread out and relax after a busy day on the slopes.

This property was purchased for winter vacations, but after spending time there in the summer we have found that summer is just as enjoyable as the winter. The activities on the mountain along with the nearby lakes and trails and of course Glacier National Park make this a fabulous location year around.

What makes this condo unique

The large upstairs bedroom has been set up as a separate living/sleeping area giving this unit 2 living areas so that kids and adults can have their own space. The upstairs window has a beautiful NW view of the ski runs and the downstairs balcony looks out to the SE and over the entire Flathead Valley.

Clean, Excellent Location and Comfortable

Stayed at Charlie’s condo for several nights with a group of 8. We had excellent parking, a short walk or ski down to the 2nd lift and when groceries or food was needed, it was within several feet at either th bierstube, ed and mullys or the grocery store! Another benefit was that the condo was actually larger in-person than in the photos so it did not feel crowded when everyone was watching tv or eating breakfast! Would highly recommend this condo for everyone.

This condo is in a fabulous location with great views. It was a nice unit but there were definitely some things that should have been better. It indicated that it sleeps 8 but was not comfortable with 4 adults and 3 children. When we arrived it was late and the final bed was not made up. Our reservation was for 7 people, needing that final bed.

Communication became very poor once we arrived. Everything about the condo was written down in different places. I had to search many different places for answers on where things were, how to use specific things like wifi and tv, etc.

There were not enough linens for more than 4 people and we were staying for a week. I had to wash towels and wash cloths mid week, which you do have to pay for. When asked for more linens they were brought to us the next day and smelled terribly of cigarette smoke.

Floors were not vacuumed especially bad in entry way.... we actually ended up vacuuming. Bathroom toilets all had a layer of urine and dust around the base.

On top of it all, some expensive meds were found that we accidentally left behind. We asked for them to be mailed. I was told that they would be and is been 8+ weeks. Correspondence happened only when initiated and the responses were poor communication.

*also, there is only one bedroom that is actually closed off and private. The other is upstairs connected to the loft and does not have a door on it. Stairs going up lead into the bedroom.... with kids this was a major downside because we had to be quiet when they went to bed as sound carried. Plus with no ac it got hot upstairs and the fans available did not work.

Overall, I would look for a condo in the same resort but not through this individual owner.

Owner's Response: Wow. All the correspondence via VRBO emails was within 30 min & the guest thanked me for my "(qu)ick" and "attentive" responses. The day of check in the guest did complain the hot tub was closed in the summer & they just found this out. I apologized but I had no ability to change this fact. It is noted on the website & in the documents I sent the guest that the hot tub was only open in the summer. The documents I sent when the reservation was made (6 months earlier) clearly indicate the hot tub being closed & also clearly show how the guest is to set up the extra beds because I don't always know what each guest prefers. If they ask for something specific then we are happy to accommodate. Also the email from the guest said 5 or 7 guests and implied a high probability of only 5 guests in which case the futon would not have been needed. We had no way of knowing what they wanted as they never told us. The documents I send each guest include full instructions on how to operate the TV, WiFi, Wii, set up the beds, where the linen is stored etc.. These were never read or printed and brought with them. The first 3 lines of the main document gives the address, unit number and directions. Yet long after I sent the documents I was asked for the address saying I never provided it. Also, they would have known about the beds, hot tub, and TV instructions if they only read them. Having to search for TV instructions makes no sense they were also available in a folder on the downstairs coffee table and at each TV. The real problem seemed to arise when after the guest left they noticed they had forgotten the grandparent's expensive Rx medications. There was difficulty getting it sent back to them. The housekeeper (HK)found them and I asked the guest to forward her the address, but as I now know the link to the HK address was deleted by VRBO when the gmail was sent to the VRBO guest address. The return email implied that all was fine and I assumed the guest had complied and forwarded it to the HK. I didn't find out until weeks later by which time they had been misplaced. They were subsequently found and I made a special effort to retrieve them on a recent trip and got them mailed. There is no AC, but I was just there and the fans work. The lack of door on the upstairs room is clearly shown in the photos. I was the one staying there before and I cleaned 90% before I left. The HK may have assumed it was completed & not finished the job.

Perfect for a family!

This condo gave us lots of space to spread out, with the loft for the kids and a private bedroom for the parents. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep -- even a crock pot! We also appreciated having a laundry room close by. Everything was spotlessly clean. It's not super close to Glacier, but having all that room and being away from the crowds made up for that. Finally, Charlie was helpful in answering my questions. Great experience all around!

Take Amtrak's Empire builder from Portland/Seattle or Chicago and arrive right in the heart of Whitefish 7 miles from the slopes. Summer activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, Glacier National Park, Flathead and Whitefish lakes and on the mountain zip line tours, canopy tours, alpine slide, hiking, wild huckleberries, and mountain biking.
