About Jennifer

We own two units at the Canyon Racquet Club condominiums (VRBO #138692 4 bed 4 bath in the same building & #324276 2 bed bath) and manage this unit for another owner. We take great pride in making sure our guests are happy! We love Utah and all it has to offer!

Jennifer purchased this condo in 2005

Why Jennifer chose Utah

Location! This community has the best of both worlds - it is great for the owners and their family to visit because it is close to family members and close to all the activities they enjoy (including summer and winter sports)....but also great as a vacation rental for others.....the unit is fully licensed as a tourist home (required by Cottonwood Heights).

What makes this condo unique

The location is ideal - right at the mouth of the Canyons so we can ski, snowshoe, hike, bike, and picnic in 20 minutes, yet still in Salt Lake county with quick access to the freeway to go downtown or to Park City. Grocery stores and restaurants are close by as well.

Affordable, convenient condo, caring owner

  • 5 of 5

Recently enjoyed staying here and found it to be a nicely appointed, very convenient to all the regional ski resorts. If you stay on the mountain you will find it be very inconvenient to visit any other resorts. The condo is also near a grocery, the best rental place (Twin Peaks), and lots of great food options. In addition, the owner showed a lot of compassion and understanding working with us on issues that arose after my friend got hurt skiing. Very much appreciated.

Owner's Response: Dear Evan, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review! I'm am very happy you enjoyed your stay. I wish I owned this condo! I manage it for the owner who lives out of state. We do own two others in the community however. I'm so sorry your friend got hurt......and we were happy to help out what little we could. Take care and we hope to see you back soon!

Condo Review

  • 5 of 5

I spent the past summer in this unit. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. The unit itself if very nice and the location is fantastic. Simply walk across the street and go for a hike up Fergusen Canyon. Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons are right there, as well. Grocery store, restaurants, and freeway access are nearby. 15 minute drive to downtown Salt Lake City. Very much enjoyed my stay.

Great Place and Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the bottom on Big Cottonwood Canyon. Location was great because we could zip to either canyon (Alta, Snowbird, Brighton etc.) . The facilities were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Our host (Jennifer) was very helpful with getting discount lift tickets. We had an issue with the washing machine ( hey things break down every now and then). Jennifer was very accommodating as she gave us access to another unit to wash. She had someone in to fix it the next day. This is a place that I will definitely return.

We have been skiing offshore from New Zealand for the past thirteen years taking ourselves and groups to ski destinations worldwide.

Utah would be the highlight of all those years and this property contributed greatly to that conclusion.

The sheer proximity to all that this area has to offer, ski resorts, good restaurants, supermarkets and interesting attractions is second to none.

The home is beautifully presented and true to the photos and information provided. The property was spotless and well presented.

A car is essential to enjoy all attractions and shopping. A quick drive from the airport, GPS essential, in the middle of the night was a breeze. Undercover parking and house facilities including very comfortable beds, hot tub, great heating and fully equipped kitchen much appreciated. 300 meters away a gas station, ski shop selling well discounted lift passes to ALL ski resorts (big daily savings to be had), a fantastic Whole Foods supermarket, state liquor store, pharmacies etc etc within 1 1/2 miles down the road.

We were at the 4 nearby resorts, Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude within 25 minutes of leaving the home !!......stunning.

Dear Valley, Snow Basin, The Canyons, Park City all under 60 minutes away.

Must dos.... are the near new, Utah Museum of Natural History, 12 minutes away, and Olympic Park at Park City....take the tour $10.00. Also spend lots of money in Park City, great museums, restaurants and shopping. Also live shows at the wonderful Egyptian Theatre, Park City.

Bottom line is this wonderful, comfortable home is the perfect spot to base yourself. Handy to absolutely everything. I should also mention the home is set well back from the road and traffic noise is not an issue at all.

The only negative point is the shower water pressure is not great and, if possible should be attended to.

We would definitely stay in this home again and look forward to hitting the Utah slopes in the near future.

Fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this condo over Christmas 2013. Condo was very well equipped with everything we needed. It was a fantastic location for skiing Alta, Solitude, Brighton, and Snowbird. Close to grocery and other conveniences too. It was also a pleasant drive to Park City. We bought our ski passes through Jennifer and she had them waiting at the condo when we arrived. All around a great experience! Condo did have a lot of stairs for those who have trouble with steps. We will be back!

Beautiful & updated

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying at this property. Jennifer with Utah Retreats manages the property. Everything was very nice, clean and updated. We were impressed with the nice remodeling job the owners have done. We've never rented a condo/home before and we're very happy we tried it out. It is more work than booking a hotel to set it all up, and we had many questions, but was worth it.

The pictures are accurate, it is a beautiful & quiet condo. There are four split level floors. The attached two car garage was great to park in, especially since there is extremely limited parking around.

The hot tub was fun and clean - we even met the pool guy who came by on the back side while we were there. Although it does take a long time to get up to temperature.

I will mention that they do have a hair dryer, which wasn't listed as an amenity. Also a floor fan for each bedroom. They did have many sample size items of things like soap, toothpaste, etc around - a pleasant surprise.

Everything was clean and in great working condition. It was nice to have a DVD player in the master bedroom, plus even a Wii in the family room. You never know when traveling if a bed will be uncomfortable, but the master bed was very comfortable. Everyone slept very well. It all just felt very homey.

The water pressure was low, but Jennifer said she had a plumber work on it after we left.

The view on the back side is a hill slope and the view from the master bedroom is nice - you can see over other condos to the mountains - very pretty.

We just loved staying there and we're glad we chose it.

Owner's Response: Chris, Thanks so much for taking the time to add your review! Yes, we had the plumber in after your stay- and the water pressure is great now! Sorry for that inconvenience! We have added the fact that there is a blow dryer and a Wii in the condo to the listing so others know. Thanks again and we hope to have you back soon! We own and manage other condos in the community if you ever need something larger.
