Oceanview mountaintop 5-bedroom villa in Samara. Short drive to the beach.

Escape to a mountaintop 3-bedroom villa, 2 bedroom casita in Samara. This Hacienda meets Bali style open home brings you into the heart of Costa Rica. All doors in the main living area are louvered wooden doors that accordion open and closed to eliminate walls and maximize view. The louvered doors allow breezes to flow through when closed. This tranquil property offers amazing views of both the valley and ocean and are surrounded by lush fruit trees and tropical forest. The house gets amazing breezes and is much cooler than those down the hill. The house and casita can be rented separately or together. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is a must as the road up the mountain to the house is unpaved.

Each house has it's own laundry and kitchen and the infinity pool is stunning. The main house features a master king ensuite with a single bed tucked under the king, another king ensuite bedroom and a queen bedroom with a single bed as well, also with it's own bathroom. There is an outdoor kitchen and second story yoga platform.

The casita offers a queen bedroom, 2-twins in another and a large bathroom. The casita also has a full kitchen, porch, laundry and a futon in the living room. This villa is perfect for a retreat, family vacation or large group of friends.

There is a security gate to the neighborhood, another to the house and parking. You are just minutes from Samara beach in a gated community high above. The view is amazing and the monkeys come through the area just about every day. Don't worry though, they stay away from people.

The house is Casa de los Vientos, The Casita is called Casita Vientos and the combo is called Villa Vista.

This was a great spot! Both the host and property managers were very responsive and there was plenty of space for our multi-generational party of 8. Pictures are accurate (although it’s even more beautiful in reality. Two things I would like to add to description for international renters - It does sit at the top of a mountainous dirt road so 4x4 vehicle was a must. And it’s about 20 min from town/the beach.

Five stars! This place was absolutely incredible! The views were stunning, and the home itself was wonderful. Our host was so easy to reach and handled any minor issues immediately. We especially appreciated the local property manager. He was incredibly responsive and a joy to work with. We even had the pleasure of attending church and grabbing lunch with him. He’s a was great!A huge bonus was the grapefruit tree on the property. The amenities were plentiful and even included a juicer, so we enjoyed fresh grapefruit juice every day. Truly a hospitable and beautiful place to stay in Costa Rica.

We just purchased this dream retreat in June of 2025 and remodeled it with relaxed elegance. New main kitchen, paint, appliances, lighting, living room furniture, linens and so much more. Mountaintop view and and short drive down to the beach.

We love Costa Rica and especially Samara with it's pristine beaches, beginner surf and friendly town. The mountaintop offers stunning views and cooler breezes. It's the best of all that Costa Rica has to offer.

What makes this property unique

This home is custom built and a mix of hacienda and Bali style. It is a unique open-aire design and brings you right into Costa Rica's amazing beauty. Fresh breezes, sounds of nature, monkey spotting and abundant fruit trees make this home a truly one-of-a-kind Costa Rica retreat. The property includes a 2 bedroom casita that can also be rented for a larger group, reunion or retreat.
