it is not just about the view
The staff of Vista del Sol were welcoming very kind and helpful. Upon opening the room the old furniture seemed charming but realizing it lacked any updates whatsoever was a bit disheartening. This beautiful condo needs some tender loving care, the stove was rusty as well as part of the washer, the fans were in poor condition and did not function, the drawers did not function and some handles were missing. The maid service was good for surface cleaning and they were very kind and did the best they could wit the 30 mins they have to clean each condo.
The noise outside lasted until around midnight and it was difficult to fall asleep.
The views from the Condo are spectacular and the sunsets took our breath away .
This Condo Should Come With A Warning (in a good way)!
WARNING!!! If you stay in this condo you need to be aware of a couple of things. Most important is that you will NEVER want to stay anywhere else when you vacation in Puerto Vallarta in the future! This is the perfect location! Seriously! One of the other things you need to be aware of is that you will potentially save a lot of money because you will spend A LOT of time just hanging out on the balconies and enjoying the people watching and/or observing the birds diving into the bay competing with the fishermen along the shore. And you will relax! There is nothing like being lulled to sleep by the calming sounds and sights of the waves right below you! We stayed for almost two weeks (Jan 6th through the 19th) and can honestly say it was our BEST TRIP EVER in Vallarta. The pictures of the condo do not do it justice. They are “accurate” but don’t really convey that this is an extremely comfortable and homey space. The owner’s artwork collection reflects the diversity of regional artist and artists. The furniture is all comfortable, as are the beds. If you’re looking for a place that is sleek and modern- this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for a place that captures the wonderful old world charm of the region – then look no further! This is truly representative of the Vallarta that we love. We had plenty of room for my husband and I, and for 6 of the days we had friends staying with us and with the second bedroom and bathroom, there was PLENTY of room. The layout is such that the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the condo so privacy is not a problem. There was a little beach bustle during the day and in the evenings, but it was never loud or made it to where we couldn’t sleep. The sounds of the surf pretty much drown out any distracting noises. There were 3 TVs, but we never turned any of them on the entire time. We just enjoyed the space and enjoyed the people watching (along with a little shopping and LOTS of dining out). The kitchen was more than we needed. We only really made use of the tea kettle for coffee in the morning and used the microwave a few times to heat a few things up. Never turned on the stove. Used the frig for a few things, but you’re so close to so many inexpensive places to eat that cooking was the last thing on our minds. This is truly in an amazing location and you can't go wrong with this unit.
Mexico living at its best!
This condo is on the 4th floor, corner unit , with large wrap around corner balcony. The owners have done a wonderful job of decorating it in Mexican art. Old style, with saltillo tile floors, heavy Mexican wood dining table and chairs, cable tv with some US channels, comf, some channels were snowy or fuzzy, like the cable needed to be adjusted, but we left it alone, not wanting to fiddle with it, owners can check it out next time they stay. Both bedrooms have own bathroom and comfortable beds. The second bedroom is located as a separate suite, if you want privacy for those in that bedroom-but not a good location for children, as that would separate them from parents in the master bedroom. Terrific views of the ocean, beach, malecon. Balcony is perfect for people watching as life passes by on the malecon.A/C works fine, bit noisy, but that cancels out the life noises outside if you are a early to bed person. Very nice pool on the top deck, big, with shower and bathrooms, and lots of lounge chairs. View from the huge deck is terrific. On cool days, open up the sliding doors and windows, and you will feel the refreshing ocean breezes flow thru. Prices are fair, and the owner and her family do a good job of summarizing what you need to know before you arrive, with helpful tips on the condo , the pool, the restaurants nearby. The condo is fully furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with all dishes, pots and pans , utensils, everything you will need. Nice big beach umbrella and beach towels provided. Maid will wash the beach towels every day. Maid sweeps and mops the floors and cleans where needed, every day except Sunday. Leave her a 500 peso tip, well worth it. 24 hour front desk and security. Entrance is through a locked gate, and front desk folks will let you in , as they see you approach. One of the front desk persons even loaned me his bike to use on the malecon. Of course, tip such services when received. I tipped 90 pesos for a couple of hours of light use and he seemed happy. Convenience stores with basics within same block(OXXO stores). Stay at this condo if you can!! You wont be disappointed. Much better than a modern condo of glass and marble with no character.
Perfect condo and location!
This condo unit is perfect for 4 people = great size, huge wrap around balcony, clean, all the amenities you could ask for, rooftop pool on the roof with a large sunbathing area, full kitchen, air conditioned and comfortable couches/chairs. The staff working at the condo were always very friendly and professional - they took our bags as we arrived and provided us with good advice when we asked questions. This condo is perfectly located right on the border of the old part of PV and the newer section - and right along the Malecon/boardwalk. A variety store was right beside the building as well, plus tonnes of restaurants within a 5 minute wall. Special mention to a French bakery that has excellent pastries nearby - you really want to try some of these with your coffee in the morning - they are beyond delicious. Overall, a great condo with a great location and comfortable digs!
Best condo & location
The condo is beautifully decorated w/ authentic Mexican feel and very spacious. The other bedroom is a private suite in itself. We enjoyed people watching from the wrap around balcony and what stunning ever-changing views throughout each day varying on weather. The condo is so central that you can walk to everything, and there is an abundance of activities and restaurants everywhere. Food and drinks were excellent in every restaurant and taco stand. Weather was very humid, but not overly hot. AC definitely needed and worked well in the condo. Only few restaurants have AC, though.
We did jet ski, banana boat ride, one organized boat tour, hiked in the jungle while kids zip lined, shopped in the street vendor areas (along river was our favorite). We loved the pouring rain that surprised us 6 out of 7 evenings that we stayed in PV. It was so fun to get caught in it and crossing streets with water up to our ancles. Oh and the rooftop pool was marvelous with parasailers passing by and cooler water than the ocean. So refreshing! Gringo Gulch part of town was really fun to walk as well. I made it to the top of town to the cross as well. PV was full of Mexican tourists and we started to speak Spanish, too, ha ha. We saw only few Americans although our condo building is mostly American part time residents; and mostly empty in the summer. We can't wait to go back!!!!
