This cabin was built by the owners and opened July, 2013. Much of the wood in the cabin came from the pine and aspen trees on our own land. All of the boards on the outside of the cabin were cut from Mountain Pine Beetle infested trees on our land. The loft ladder and railing we peeled from our trees. The bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet we built from aspen. The deck has a covered roof on it with lounge chairs and a grill. We have built a fire pit with benches next to the cabin for quests to enjoy and relax beside. We have plenty of fire wood for it on site. You can call me at Six 0 five, 5 one 7, one 7 nine 6. I am glad to answer any questions. We own 23 acres that is surrounded by National Forest Service Land. There is a creek running thru our land with a pond in it just below the cabin. The Norbeck Wildlife Refuge is just 100 yards from our property. We are approximately 3 miles from Custer State Park. You have a bird's eye view of the Needles from our drive way. We are located in the heart of the Southern Black Hill offering a wonderful base to explore all the Hills have to offer, but is also a perfect getaway for those searching for some peace and tranquility. There are many forest trails near the cabin that you can hike, bike, or ride horse on for all the exploration a heart could desire. Consumables are provided. We are NOT charging a cleaning fee although we hope all will leave the cabin as clean as you found it in hopes of preventing this fee. You pay one half of your stay when you reserve the cabin with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival.
Cancellation Policy: Re-scheduling your stay is always permissible without loss of deposit monies. Cancellations made 31 or more days prior to arrival will receive a refund of the deposit LESS $50.00 or 10% of the reservation whichever is more. If cancelled within 30 days of arrival the initial deposit will be forfeited. Partial deposit may be refunded if the property is re-rented. There will be NO refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures. Starting January 1, 2023 we are raising the rate to $140.00 per night. We'd love to have you stay with us! We allow dogs in our cabin with no charge but due to some abusing this, we have to set some rules. There is a limit of 2 dogs only. If dogs are going to left in the cabin unattended, they must be in a crate.

Deb and Dave were the best hosts! Very friendly and attentive! The cabin has a beautiful view and convenient to many attractions! Our dog had just as much fun as we did, playing with hosts’ dogs and watching the cows. We can’t wait to go back!!!
Our stay was great. The cabin was lovely. The only issue was our check-in. The owner wasn’t aware of our booking so it made for a rocky start, but Deb was accommodating and polite. We enjoyed our quiet weekend.

Thank you Ashley.
You and I worked everything out like mature adults.
I am pretty upset with VRBO. They stopped sending me emails or texts a month ago of notifications of reservations, inquiries, and cancellations. I have no way of knowing somebody is coming to the cabin, have questions to ask, or have cancelled. I have tried now for 5 days to get ahold of a person to help me straighten this out and have had no luck. Maybe someone that can help me will read this.
A winding gravel drive leads back to this property surrounding by forest land for hiking. The views are fantastic and it is very quiet and peaceful. The owners live on the property and have great hospitality and friendly dogs, however, there is still good privacy. Great place for 2 adults or a family of 4 to stay and enjoy.

Dream location!
My husband and I decided this was a perfect cabin-cozy, comfortable and clean. It was located far enough off the beaten path to enjoy the peace and quite seclusion we were looking for, yet close enough to town and the area attractions, we could pack our 2 days with sight seeing. Couldn't be happier with our stay!
Fabulous stay. Cabin was nicely equipped, the land was very peaceful and away from everything. There is even a trail you can take around the property. Owner has little pugs that like most pugs love attention. Great for a family stay while visiting the area. Host Deb was excellent.
Close to town and attractions but also away from it all! Beautiful view and property, lots of wildlife too. We saw turkeys, deer, jack rabbits and indigo buntings on the road to the cabin. The hosts are fantastic and there if you have any questions. This place is a wonderful little getaway.
Our short stay went well. We were only there for 2 nights with our dog but found the property owner and her dogs very nice. There are four pugs who you'll likely see a few times during your stay, so be aware of your pets if you bring them. The main house where the property owner lives is just far enough away to provide privacy. Everything was clean and well kept.
We had a wonderful time. Couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting even with the rain. So relaxing, just what we needed. We couldn't have asked for more. Deb, Dave and the puppies were so friendly and super to work with. I would definitely recommend this place.
Our stay was better than expected. Couldn't imagine someplace could be so quiet--absolute quiet. The cabin was remote but not too remote. The host was delightful, checked in to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, made some small talk and was not intrusive. Host has three small dogs (pugs) who roam the property, but they are friendly--one sat with me for an hour one night on the porch swing--but they scatter if you tell them to. We also had two small dogs with us who I would call not social, but they got along well with the dogs too. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet get away that is remote, but not way off the beaten path. If there was one draw back it was the miller moths, a small annoyance that goes with living in the woods--we learned after the first night not to leave doors open with a light on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Quaint Cabin in the Woods
This cabin is a cute cabin in the woods and the grounds surrounding the cabin are beautiful. Even though it's a cute & cozy cabin it needs some work. A thorough cleaning would be nice, we found a lot of dead moths in the upstairs loft. The front sliding glass door is not as secure as it could be and there is not a privacy blind, so you are a little exposed. Also, you need to know up front this cabin does not come with air conditioning and there are not any fans in the cabin (ceiling fan in living room). So if you get hot, like I do, you will need to make sure to bring some fans for your bedroom. We live in a big city and we don't sleep with our windows open, however, if you are fine sleeping with your windows open, then the bedroom will probably be cool enough. If you enjoy peace and quiet, and you don't care about having cable TV, then this is the cabin for you. Molly, is their pug bull dog and she is a total JOY!! We enjoyed seeing her every morning and every night!

We are sorry you did not enjoy your country experience. Perhaps you should stay in a hotel in a city next time. The profile states there is not air-conditioning or cable in the cabin. We do have millers in the country but they are cleaned up after each tenant. We hope the rest of your vacation was in the city and you enjoyed it.
The cabin was just perfect for the 2 of us and our dog, and the location in Custer State Park was just what we were looking for, in a weekend visit. The hiking trail on the property was a great surprise and the view was spectacular. Deb, our host, was so friendly and accommodating. We had a great time exploring the black hills, including the Custer Wildlife Trail and the Needles Highway.
Cabin was perfect for our family. Owners are super sweet and friendly. We had a greeting committee of 3 dogs upon every return to the cabin. We loved seeing the dogs each time!! Super close to Custer State Park.

Not ideal...rent a different cozy cabin.
The cabin was cute but desperately needs some cleaning. It is infested with moths we spent our night of check in vacuuming and trying to rid the place or bugs and moths. I messaged the host about check in the day of and after we arrived I was messaged saying it was Vrbo job to give that info. Let me say this I rent from agencies about fifty times a year and I always get messaged about check in from the host. Most people reviewed that it was quiet....well they definitely had a different experience then we did. The host started cutting the grass at 8 one morning, and running a water pump at 9 the other. We also were not fans of how invasive her dogs are...they jumped in our vehicle and came into the cabin while we stayed there. When we asked if accommodations could be made nothing changed. I also didn’t like the fact that there where no curtains...you feel like a fish in a bowl. We are from the country and from someone who rents frequently....I would advice to stay somewhere else.

We live here full time and have 2 dogs, a Pug and English Bulldog. We live in the country and the dogs have free run. We have so many people in the cabin that love these dogs and these dogs love everybody too. Many of the people want the dogs in the cabin . The dogs don't understand when somebody does not like them. Kayla came up to our house the first night and demanded that we keep our dogs in our house so she did not have to carry her 5 lb. dog that does not like other dogs all over our place. We do not know if it was the little dog or the old woman that does not like dogs.
She had the misfortune of being here in the short period of time, a week to 10 days, that in the woods in this area we have moths. There is nothing we can do about it. It is a cabin in the woods.
I would like to warn other people about renting to her how rude and demanding she is. We have had the cabin for nine years and have 177 very good reviews. I believe your review tells more about you than it does about us.
Cute little cabin with amazing scenery off the beaten path. This little cabin was just the right size had everything we needed for our little family. The hosts were friendly and helpful especially the four legged residents.
We enjoyed our stay very much. It’s a beautiful area and cute cabin.

About the host
Hosted by Deb Streets
We live on the property and will be pleased to help you in any way we can. The land has been in the Streets family since 1948. Dave was born and raised on this land. I was born and raised 95 miles north of here. We are enjoying meeting the tenants as much as they are enjoying our little hide-a-way at the end of the Forest Service Road.
What makes this property unique
For us this place is our little piece of Heaven. We are a short 6 miles out of town. It is so relaxing to come home at the end of the Forest Service Road and get away from the hustle, bustle, and noise of town. We can sit on the deck and watch deer, wild turkey, elk, and listen to many different birds.
