Surrounded by National Forest , 3 miles to Custer State Park, 26 to Mt Rushmore
The address is 12677 OLEO DRIVE. My phone number is 605-517-1796. I welcome you to call me at any time with questions about booking our cabin. This cabin was built by the owners and opened July, 2013. Much of the wood in the cabin came from the pine and aspen trees on our own land. All of the boards on the outside of the cabin were cut from Mountain Pine Beetle infested trees on our land. The loft ladder and railing we peeled from our trees. The bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet we built from aspen. The deck has a covered roof on it with lounge chairs and a grill. We have built a fire pit with benches next to the cabin for quests to enjoy and relax beside. We have plenty of fire wood for it on site.
We own 23 acres that is surrounded by National Forest Service Land. There is a creek running thru our land with a pond in it just below the cabin. The Norbeck Wildlife Refuge is just 100 yards from our property. We are approximately 3 miles from Custer State Park. You have a bird's eye view of the Needles from our drive way. We are located in the heart of the Southern Black Hill offering a wonderful base to explore all the Hills have to offer, but is also a perfect getaway for those searching for some peace and tranquility. There are many forest trails near the cabin that you can hike, bike, or ride horse on for all the exploration a heart could desire.
Consumables are provided. We are NOT charging a cleaning fee although we hope all will leave the cabin as clean as you found it in hopes of preventing this fee. We are allowing one night stays this year. Your reservation deposit is 1/2 of your stay with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival. There is a required $500 Vacation Rental damage security deposit . If the cabin is left in the same condition as when you arrive, the damage deposit will not be charged. If warranted due to damage or extra cleaning an itemized statement will be mailed to you along with the credit card charge for the repairs.
Cancellation Policy: Re-scheduling your stay is always permissible without loss of deposit monies. Cancellations made 31 or more days prior to arrival will receive a refund of the deposit LESS $50.00 or 10% of the reservation whichever is more. If cancelled within 30 days of arrival the initial deposit will be forfeited. Partial deposit may be refunded if the property is re-rented. There will be NO refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures.
We'd love to have you stay with us!

About Deb Streets
We live on the property and will be pleased to help you in any way we can. The land has been in the Streets family since 1948. Dave was born and raised on this land. I was born and raised 95 miles north of here. We are enjoying meeting the tenants as much as they are enjoying our little hide-a-way at the end of the Forest Service Road.
What makes this Cabin unique
For us this place is our little piece of Heaven. We are a short 6 miles out of town. It is so relaxing to come home at the end of the Forest Service Road and get away from the hustle, bustle, and noise of town. We can sit on the deck and watch deer, wild turkey, elk, and listen to many different birds.

There is good lake and stream fishing very close by. There is Stockade, Bismarck, Center, Legion, and Sylvan Lakes that are all from 3 to 10 miles from the cabin.

Perfect cabin in the black hills
This cabin 100% lives up to it's billing as a perfect, private vacation spot. We loved that we were close to town but remote where we could hear birds chirping and the rushing water from the creek. I cant recommend this unit enough. Deb was a fantastic host and the accommodations were incredible. The cabin was cozy and the setting was perfect. Deb was very responsive and communicated with us when we needed her! The cabin was clean and cozy - exactly as detailed. If we visit SD - we will be back! Highly recommend.
Beauty and Solitude!
We couldn't have asked for a nicer place. Very secluded and off the beaten path, but a great location to the southern, central, and northern black hills, and Badlands. The cabin was outfitted nicely with everything we needed. Deb and John, thank you for sharing this little gem of a cabin in the woods!
Modern comfort off the beaten path
Beautiful setting in forest!
Rustic decor with modern amenities
Private secluded and perfect for getting away!
Great value as well
Loved the owners dog and cat that came and visited us!
Beautiful
This was our 3rd year staying here and we love it!
Away from It all yet close to the everything
Very secluded. The owners are a delight. The house is very warm and well resourced. Very welcoming and this morning as I was leaving, Dave (who was born and raised on the property) pushed me out of a snow “mishap”.
Easy access to everything you would wish to see.
Terrific place to stay!
We stayed in the cabin for 5 nights. Deb visited with us on a couple of occasions making us feel welcome and sharing very valuable points of interest during our stay. The cabin was very nice and secluded. The solitude and quiet was great.
Location
We are centrally located to Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park, The Needles, Crazy Horse, Harney Peak, and the Mickelson Trail just to name a few. The cabin is sitting in the middle of several good lakes that you can fish, boat, or swim in including Sylvan Lake, Bismarck Lake, Center, and Stockade Lakes. There is wonderful hiking from the door of the cabin. The Paha Sapa trail is a short walk from the cabin. For those of you that are interested in fossils, The Woolly Mammoth Dig is 45 miles away in Hot Springs.

Additional information about rental rates
We are not charging a cleaning fee in hopes tenants will take good care of the cabin and leave it as clean as it was when they moved into the cabin. I have supplied a vaccum cleaner, and a variety of cleaning supplies for them to clean the cabin with before they leave. Beginning January 1, 2015 our summer rate for June, July, and August will be $125 per night.
