Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Tad, we are at the airport getting ready to fly back to the real world. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed your gem of a property Aqua Vista.

In all the years we have traveled and places we have stayed, I don't recall using the outdoor space of a property as much as we used this one. The pictures you have posted just doesn't do it justice.

We did travel to a couple beaches we found last year and found a new one this year which I consider the best on the island you can get to by car. Coco Plum Beach, not sure if you have been there, but is a must see next time you are here if you haven't.

Alex was a real pleasure to work with. When we arrived he had our car waiting for us when we walked out, so we were able to load up and go straight to the house.

All in all we had a great trip and look forward to returning to Aqua Vista again in the near future. Thanks to you and Alex for making this trip seamless and extremely pleasurable.

Best Regards,

You really can't ask for a better place to relax!!!

  • 5 of 5

Oh WOW! Where to start? You know how you see some rentals have pictures posted and when you get there it's not exactly what you expected? NOT THIS PLACE! WOW! It ALL looks just like the pictures! It's amazingly beautiful. We never got bored of just sitting out on the deck or the dock and just looking around in awe of the beauty. All of our friends and family thought we went to Bora Bora or Bali from the pictures we showed them. It really is a little slice of heaven! The house is fully equipped and spotlessly clean. Everything works as it should and it was very comfortable.

Customer service from the owner, Tad and the caretaker, Alex, are also top notch. They anticipated any and all needs and made the stay very smooth and comfortable. Alex knows the island top to bottom. He'll tell you everything you need to know from the best places to shop and eat, to the best beaches and snorkel spots. He knows everyone and everyone knows him!

Overall we love the house and the island and we can't wait to return very soon!

Breathtakingly Beautiful! I never knew water could be that turquoise! Magical

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a week long stay at Aqua Vista, and all I can say is, “WOW”! I’m pretty sure OMG fell out of my mouth at least 500 times, in 7 days. If you are looking for the ultimate off the grid, nothing to do but relax kind of vacation, then Aqua Vista is the perfect place. Here are things to know BEFORE you get there....

Grocery Stores are very limited on what they carry, and everything is 3x the price of what you pay in the US. Pack dry goods in your suitcase if you can, also bring a cooler of meat. Google customs to know how much you can bring. But we did love Island Prime Meats grocery store. Very clean and on the way to Aqua Vista.

You WILL need a rental car. Thompson’s Car rental is right outside of the one room airport. Make a reservation.

Coco Plum Beach is BREATH TAKING! Sandbar at low tide and wooden swings in the water.

Restaurants we loved were Shoreline Restaurant (few miles past Coco Plum Beach), Shirley’s Fish Fry (10 Minutes from Aqua Vista). Santana’s and Tropical Breeze are also wonderful!

Tony met us at the airport and walked us over to Thompson’s to get our car, then he led us out to Aqua Vista. It is definitely of the beaten path so pay attention to where you are going. The roads are full of potholes so be careful, it was def part of the adventure. Just go slow and you’ll be fine. Speaking of speed, the speedometer in the car we had was in kilometers NOT mph, which explained why people were passing us and honking. Lol Oh, and you also drive on the left hand side of the road.

The bugs can get really bad when the wind dies down. We brought a bug spray with us called Repel Lemon and Eucalyptus light oil spray. It is AMAZING and deet free. We bought it at Walmart. Highly recommend.

I will warn you though, at exactly 5 pm every night the no seeums come out in swarms. They will eat you alive if you don’t have bug spray. They are tiny tiny bugs that bite and bite and bite.

All in all, we had the time of our lives and can’t wait to go back!

Tad was very patient with us and answered all of our many questions. Those hurricanes were blowing through a couple of months before our trip and we were kind of freaking out.

Oh, bring water shoes with a sole. The rocks going into the water at the house are a little sharp.

What are you waiting for? MAKE THAT RESERVATION! Lol

Beautiful, relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved the place, kids had a blast! Picturesque view, tranquil ocean breeze, and calming sound of the waves, all we could ask for and more... Tony, the property manager, was very helpful. Will be back next year! Thank you, Tony and Tad.

House is nice but views and water are fantastic!

  • 4 of 5

The house was very nice but the views and water/dock were fantastic. This house is very private and off the beaten path. Also with no phone or tv and minimal internet we felt very off the grid. We loved the privacy of our dock and beach. Kayaks and paddle boards were nice to have as well as floating mat. Down side is that it's far from town and very secluded. You will need a car or in our case we worked out a deal with a taxi driver who drove us all week for about the same price as renting a car. The bugs are bad especially at night so def need bug spray.

Owner's Response: Aqua Vista is very secluded and is what makes it so special. We are very clear to communicate how secluded it is in the advertisement and is exactly why it is in such demand and creates such a rare experience for all that stay. On the other hand, it is not far from town, it is only a 10 minute drive. Most homes we have rented in the past, that are secluded, are usually 30 minutes or more from town. This guests statement about the mosquito's are due to the recent hurricanes that have left an unusual amount of water on the island. This hurricane season has caused increased mosquitos in all islands and Florida as well. The great thing about Aqua Vista is that the ocean breeze is so consistent that this is normally not a problem. These particular guests were not old enough to rent a car and were therefore young, and would have probably liked to be near the noise and hustle and bustle of a city or resort, which is not the type of experience people are seeking that fall in love with Aqua Vista. I guess I have to be okay with a rare 4 star review as everybody has a different perspective. But as an owner, I work very hard to create a spectacular stay for our guests and take great pride in our consistent 5 star reviews that have made us the number one rated and number one rented home on the island.

Magical vacation

Stayed at aqua vista June 4-11, 2017. Tony met us at airport with our rental car even though we were delayed getting in on a Sunday. He led us out to the house which is way off the beaten path. House was awesome and better than the pictures. We had sent a small grocery list for Tony to pick up for us since we arrived on a Sunday ... and he got all the things listed which was so nice! The property is spectacular... the views and the beautiful water were breathtaking! The kayaks and paddle boards were top notch and we really enjoyed them. We were very isolated out there but my family loved that aspect. The kids were almost happier just staying at property as opposed to sight seeing. We would definitely highly recommend this property and can't wait to go back!

Just as advertised

  • 5 of 5

Just got done spending 9 days at AQUA VISTA and we didn't wanna come home. The house looks the same as it does on the website which is refreshing since so many times things aren't as they appear. Tad, the owner was always quick to respond to your texts and his house manager TONY was at the airport to greet us, help us get our rental car and show us how to get to the house. AND we were an hour late getting there due to flight delays. You definitively wanna get a car while your there because the house is off of the beaten path about 2 miles down a dirt road and I don't think a taxi driver would know how to get there. A word to the wise, if you are going around easter like we did the whole island pretty much shuts down GOOD FRIDAY, EASTER SUNDAY AND EASTER MONDAY (I didn't even know that existed) so be prepared food wise. As for the house, it us shaped like an octagon with windows on every wall. It was pretty windy the week we were there so we just left the windows open instead of the air conditioner for the most part. Just the 2 of us had the house to ourselves and the bed in the master was very comfortable for a queen size. No cable but a good selection of movies to choose from at night, we ate at the house most of the time and it has all you will need to do had a nice raft in the water to lay out on and to my surprise even came with a 15 ft power boat Even though the wind stopped us from using it. The house runs on a well and they put chlorine in the water to treat it so be careful. Our first 2 loads of laundry got faded or bleach stained but you are on a remote part off the island and I guess the chlorine is necessary .besides that and low water pressure in the master shower, everything worked just great. We loved how secluded it was. It's about 10 minutes from town by car (you drive on the left there) and your in the middle of exuma so your only 30 minutes or so either direction to each end of the island. Its perfect for 4 people. Although there are 2 rollaway in the closet. We took 4 c's adventures to swim with the pigs, rented a boat from MINN'S to go to stocking island, ate at SANTANAS,SHIRLEY'S FISH FRY, THE CONCH SALAD STAND NEXT TO SHIRLEY'S. we did it all. By far the best vacation we ever had an can't wait to return in a year or so. You will fall in love too. We're gonna try around July next time for less wind and a little warmer water. Quit reading this post and go book the property and come fall in live with paradise.
