About the property

2 Bedroom, In Mountain, 18 min (13 Miles) from North Asheville

**Christmas 11/12-1/1**

Lovely 1940's farm house only 18 min (13 Miles) from Asheville. House is snuggled between two mountains on 136 acres of Farm Land and Forest. Note this is a working farm so you will have the potential to see Horses/Cows/Chickens/Etc. Large back yard for familys, including a fire pit in season. We rent the house vacation rental to continue to keep the original farm house in good shape for the future.

About Rodney

Hi, My name is Rodney. I was born and raised here on the farm. I moved to Asheville (downtown) for a few years while going to college, but then returned to the family farm to live in the original farm house my Grandparents built. We are a tight knit family and we all still live on the working farm. You will always receive a kind wave as anyone as they pass by. :)

Why Rodney chose Smoky Mountains

I am renting the family farm house to help keep improving the overall farm. We are currently re-fencing the 136acres which is a monumental task when it comes to purchasing supply’s now a days.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Take a break from the daily grind. Set back on the porch and listen to the stream roll by.

A cozy and quiet place to stay

  • 4 of 5

The house is in a quiet country setting (be aware it is about a 7-minute drive to Weaverville). The house has plenty of room for four people, so it was more than enough for my wife, infant son, and me. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to cook meals. Plus, some staples, like eggs, were provided. We also appreciated the provided linens. The sheets on the bed were super soft, making it difficult to get out of bed.

Weaverville is a small community (about 3,000 people) north of Asheville. The town has a few restaurants and shops. We loved the Well-Bred Cafe. Asheville is a 20-30 minute drive away, depending on where you go in the city. The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 5 minutes away.

Rodney was a good host, regularly communicating with us and offering help if we wanted it.

Our one problem while we were there was working the TV. The setup is a bit complicated, so it took some work to figure it out. Simplifying the setup or providing instructions would be helpful.

I would gladly recommend Rodney's place to anyone else.

Decorated for Halloween fun country farm house

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this super clean country home with older floors in the beautiful countryside. Rodney had it all decorated for Halloween both outside and in which was a fun touch. Location is great as you get both the nice quiet stay of the country but close enough to downtown Asheville. Pictures are exactly what it looks like. We would definitely stay here again if we ever make it back to North Carolina.

Very nice, very clean older home. Could hear the rooster crows echo off the surrounding hills. We had fresh eggs in the frig. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was in good working order. Away from hustle and bustle of city, but still close to things. It was great.

This truly is a great place to stay. The house was well keep and clean. Rodney knows all the hot spots and even better he will give you direction too.Lol The family was very, very happy. To top the trip off for my 11 year old son Rodney's dad gave him a ride on the four wheeler to see some of the farm animals. He was so happy. Wow beautiful place!!!!! WE WILL BE COMING BACK. THANKS A LOT RODNEY AND FAMILY
