"Cute cabin located in the mountains, but a short drive to east Asheville. Close to antique stores, mall shopping, hiking, a nature center, the VA and also to Black Mountain, which is a nice little town with small shops. People are very friendly and helpful. View from the cabin was nice, since leaves were off the trees, so I could see the mountains. However, there is a house near by that I could see from the hot tub and the living room. So it's not as secluded and private as I expected. The road was bumpy and narrow, but perfectly fine for cars. I would recommend this for anyone that wants to be 'away from it all' but close to activities. Great location for that."

  • Very nice - family enjoyed it.

"The house and property were as described in the ad. House is cozy and comfortable with a large collection of interesting books. There was a large yard area that my kids (12, 11 and 8) enjoyed playing in and interacting with the herd of cows on the other side of the fence. Upstairs sleeping areas very good for kids. Felt the price was reasonable. Only real downside is that you are not in a "mountain" area - think more rolling farmland. However we knew that going in. Though there might be more places to explore on the property given its size but that was not a big deal - we would rather hike mountain trails. Owners very easy to work with and have several laminated info sheets that were useful."

  • Nicely updated older home - very comfortable.

"Myself and two friends came to Asheville for the Brewgrass festival and a couple of days hiking. Our main priority was to be within walking distance of Downtown Asheville, this house is almost exactly one mile from downtown - a very do-able walk. The owner is very hospitable and gracious. She lives upstairs, but don't let that bother you, I am sure we kept her awake more than once laughing. She is a very enjoyable person to chat with as well. Georgia went out of her way to make sure we basics so we would not be rushed into running to the grocery store - what a wonderful, thoughtful idea! The house is nicely decorated, has great seating on the front porch and roomy enough for three guys. Thanks Georgia great stay!"

"We spent the month of August in this beautiful home. It exceeded our expectations. Could not have been a better location. It is literally about 5 minutes to downtown, the Grove Park Inn, and interstate access. It is on a hill in a heavily wooded neighborhood and feels secluded and away from hustle and bustle, yet it is minutes away. The home is beautifully decorated. The pictures accurately represent the home. We enjoyed the views from the deck where we captured some spectacular sunsets. Barclay and Rick were wonderful hosts and were quick to respond to anything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with every type of pot, pan, gadget, tableware imaginable. We loved our time there and definitely will come back and recommend it to friends. Thank you, Rick and Barclay, for sharing your wonderful home. Can't wait to come back."
