  • Best vacation home ever!!!

"17 of my friends rented for 3 nights this past weekend for my 40th birthday. This house is so warm and comfy and truly has everything you need. Wonderful bedding, pillows, blankets, soap, towels and everything you could ever need in a kitchen. Cleanest home I have ever ever rented!! The only recommendation I have is that another full size fridge was so very needed for three days with of food for such a large group. We also had a mini bus from The Trolley company come pick us up and take us out. Thank you Laban and Zoe for all your help and for a great trip!"

  • Cute cabin for a weekend in Asheville

"We came to Abner's Cabin for a quick weekend getaway with another couple. It was the perfect size for 2 couples and 2 dogs (if you're comfortable sharing a bathroom). Beautiful views, and had everything we needed. Neighbors are close by, which wasn't really known prior to arriving. It was also about a 10 minute drive to downtown Asheville and we were able to Uber it back and forth as needed. Overall we had a great time."

"Our family of two adults and two teen children recently spent a short week in the Chestnut Cabin. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it for anyone coming to the greater Asheville area and wanting a quiet place to stay. We arrived just after the New Year and were welcomed with a warm, cozy vintage-feel log cabin, still beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree and many holiday decorations around the living room. This truly made us feel like we were coming over to a family home rather than a random rental. We were looking for a place in the woods but not totally isolated so far from civilization to where we had to drive a great distance to see the local sights. This place was perfect for that. If you are looking for total isolation, this is not recommended as it is not far from a road and other houses are around. The road is hardly used and is a mountain neighborhood road, not a highway. Some of the cabin owner family is nearby in neighboring houses and this is actually a good thing because if you need something, there is someone right there to take care of things without any feeling whatsoever of intrusion of privacy. The cabin is situated partially up a mountain at the interior edge of the Pisgah Forest. You can hear a creek in the back woods. It was too cold to enjoy the outdoors but there is a large private patio that comes with the home that includes ample room to unwind, BBQ or have a fire in the chiminea. We actually got snowed in and Wanda and family accommodated us an additional day which was a life-saver! Her mom even swept the snow off the walk for us!!! There is gas fire in the cabin which is a little tricky to operate since it's on a thermostat but it is a welcome source of heat when it is cold. The only negative was a broken showerhead that didn't have proper pressure or spray but I think this was damaged by the last tenants and there was no time to fix. I am sure the owners will tend to this detail. The kitchen has a breakfast bar that is perfect to watch the fire in the den. The beds up in the loft and in the master bedroom were the best beds I ever slept on and I have been all over the planet in travel. They were very firm and felt brand new. This is really a plus because so many VRBO properties we have rented have horrible, beyond their lifespan beds! The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, glasses and silverware. Overall, we loved staying here!"

  • Very Private and Extremely Peaceful Setting

"This home is beautifully restored, very cozy and spotless. Walking distance to downtown shops and eateries. Gene was very responsive to our inquiries. I would not hesitate to recommend this home and location and would definitely stay here again!"
