  • Perfect mountain retreat!

"It was a treasured family retreat with our two college sons and we wanted something fun and comfortable to enjoy our weekend in Asheville. The cottage was immaculate and cozy with plenty of porches to drink coffee and enjoy the mountain views. We didn't take advantage of the fire pit, but it was there along with swings and hammock. A delightful 5 acres that we could call our own for the stay. Gayle was friendly and attentive, a California transplant whose art is sprinkled about the cottage and property. Ten minutes from downtown and twenty minutes up the mountain to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Will return."

  • Wonderful, relaxing stay

"Georgia is the perfect hostess-she had everything perfect for my arrival including a bottle of wine and delicious cookies. There was even a special treat for my dog! I truly appreciate the warmth and hospitality shown. Special blankets, toys, and even food dishes were provided for my dog. A book with recommendations on the area and a history of the home helped me plan my stay. I stayed the week prior to Thanksgiving and the air quality was excellent, a concern given the recent fires. The skies were blue and clear, the trees were turning colors-it was perfect. I was able to hike DuPont Forest, the Arboretum, and other trails with no problem. The city is wonderful, lots of great shops and restaurants. The property itself is cozy and beautiful with a somewhat European feel. The area felt very safe and was perfect. Remote enough to feel like I was in the country but only 5-10 miles to downtown. Twin Leaf Brewery, Limones, Asheville Brewing Co, and DuPont Forest are a few of my favorite places I was able to visit. I highly recommend the Red Gate Cottage."

  • Beautiful, clean & comfortable with a great view.

"We just got back from our stay at this rental home and we really loved it. It was very clean, had comfortable beds & furniture, was conveniently located, had a beautiful view and got lots of light. Since we were there for only 4 nights, we were thrilled to find filled hand soap dispensers, liquid bath soap, lots of extra toilet paper & paper towels, etc. How nice that we didn't have to buy consumables to get us through the 4 days! Our dogs loved the fenced front yard and we enjoyed eating on the back deck in the sunshine. Although the home is in a neighborhood, the higher elevation and the surrounding trees/plantings blocked any view of the neighbors and the home felt very secluded (yet close to town!). We never wanted for anything and, when I texted the owner/lessor with a question, I got an immediate response. We hope to rent this next year on our yearly trip to Asheville!"

  • Charmed Cottage is all that and more. Warm, welcoming and charming.

"Brea and David have thought of every detail. Charmed Cottage is charming,,,and welcoming and comfortable and tastefully decorated! Morning coffee on the balconies / spectacular vistas, privacy - all that you seek in a mountain cabin is there including comfortable seating, comfortable beds, a well placed hot tub, and a fully equipped kitchen. (We cooked Thanksgiving dinner - turkey and all of the trimmin's). If you're looking for a well appointed and relaxing and charming cabin, Charmed Cottage is your spot. It's your private cottage with your own private vistas from your own private balconies and/or hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed Charmed Cottage. You will too!"
