  • Majestic beauty inside and outside this cabon

"First of all, the cabin itself is stupendous and everything we expected from the pictures on the web site. And the views were too. We enjoyed our new long horn and buffalo friends! It was a tremendous place to relax. It was well supplied and we appreciated the washer/dryer in the basement. Nelson only stopped by one time, but he is a very cute dog! It only took one trip into town to become familiar with the route to downtown Asheville. And we were able to take advantage of Linde's tip about the Trolley. That tour was a great introduction to Asheville. We enjoyed the Biltmore, Lex 18, and Mo's BBQ. At the grocery store, local residents were happy to share their affinity cards so that we got their lower prices. It was a great trip! We would definitely come back again."

  • Awesome grandkids getaway

"We were watching our three grandsons 8, 6 and 3 for five days and looking for a fun place take them and this property was perfect. We were intrigued by having some animals for the kids to see and what a special treat. Brian took us to meet the Sicilian Donkeys and Darwin the Camel the first day there and what a great experience. We took the kids to feed them both a couple of times and they could not stop talking about it. Ok grandma and grandpa liked getting to feed the animals too. They also had five dogs that were great especially Kevin a 100 pound labradoodle who is a big ole fun guy. He came up to visit us at the house one day and we loved playing with him. The house itself was great with all you could need for a great stay. We cooked several meals there and enjoyed them on the screened porch. The property is very nice and as advertised. We used Trip Advisor to find some nice places to eat of where there a lot in the area. We enjoyed the games there to play and there were lots of movies to watch but we stayed so busy we didn't even turn on the TV. We filled the bird feeder and suet cage and enjoyed seeing so many birds coming to the feeders each day. The area itself was perfect for the kids as well. Only a few minutes from Ashville we took in the Fun Depot which was a great place with go carts, video games, indoor mini-golf, bumper cars etc. all around a fun place as well as the Ashville Nature Center which was very nice and went to the movies one day, and a day trip to Maggie Valley for the Wheels Through Time Museum and some gem mining. There were so many more things to do a short drive from the house including the Biltmore House which we didn't go this visit. There is a very nice park just minutes down the road with walking trails, frisbee golf and a nice playground which made for some nice visits also (great place for Pokemon Go by the way). Could not be a nicer place to stay. It would make a great stay kids or not but for the grand kids it make a special experience. The farm house made for a wonderful vacation."

  • A little piece of Heaven!

"We arrived in the Old Fort area on a very warm Saturday morning. Started to reconsider going to North Carolina mid summer, glad we came. The mountain home was AMAZING! It was definitely cooler up top. The house was spotless with more amenities than mentioned in the HomeAway website. In fact, there was nothing lacking for what we were cooking or during leisure. The house was already cooled when we arrived. The view from the deck was beautiful whether it was sunrise, watching a storm go across the valley below, or watch the sunset! There was the cutest nook off the spare room with a lovely stone wall and gnome watching your every move. The landscaping of this area was extremely inviting. The decks had plenty of space with outdoor furniture for lounging or dining. We used the gas grill hard and had a much better view than any restaurant in the area. Places we enjoyed while there: Of course we loved the relaxed atmosphere at Phil's Bar-B-Que Pit. We did a Paddle board tour in Asheville area of the French Broad River. This was booked with Kyle of Mauii SUP (stand up paddleboarding). Kyle was amazing with his patience for helping us succeed. And the Biltmore Mansion is well worth going to. Go early as the crowd assembles early and there is a lot to see. The gardens rival our local Longwood Gardens. The Blue Ridge Parkway was also amazing. We went to Little Switzerland for a lovely dinner overseeing the valley below. All in all it was a fairly central location for all that we chose to do. Lynne made sure we had detailed instructions for everything from locating the home to how to manage everything in the home. We could not have asked for anything more!"

  • Charming, experience the Nature (God's Hand) and the Hospitality.

"Very nice and beauty, and we can see the people of the entire community care about nature and animals, as well is their hospitality. Very peaceful place, and everything is close to the property .. including going to down town, and Sierra Nevada. Beer everywhere... all flavors and sizes ... we notice all restaurants have beer and many do their own... but all family type, and we did not see drunk people not either scandals. We are invited to come back, to the same house, and finally enjoy the glass of wine with Chuck and Sarah. Hope they enjoy the gift Bottle of wine we left at the dinning table. Thank you very much. and see you soon God Bless"
