  • Pleasant secluded cabin

"The road to the cabin is steep in places, which could pose a challenge to some cars, but the reward is at the end of the road! The cabin was well stocked with wood, cooking essentials, etc. The authentic logs gave the cabin a rustic feel than cannot be duplicated with modern cabin kits. The screened in porch allows you to experience the quiet surroundings. The air was cool even with high temps in the valley and we were able to comfortably sit by the fireplace in July. Asheville is close, you can be downtown in minutes. Recommended!"

  • Unexpected pleasure

"Without a doubt this property was the cleanest I've ever rented. Nestled in the damp woods of the Asheville region, be advised there are many spiders outside, but absolutely none inside. If you have 4+ guests in our party, you'd be crazy to rent hotel rooms when this house is just perfect! One recommendation for the owners is to put the number of the street on the tree at the entrance of the long private driveway and on the front of the house. Even with GPS finding the house in the dark was a challenge as I had not viewed pictures of the house in advance. It was only when I pulled into the driveway and saw a combination front door lock did I know for sure I was at the correct property. A motion sensor front door light would also be a bonus. Still, I give this property an unqualified recommendation to future guests."

  • Warm and inviting, perfect home away from home...

"Everything was perfect during our five day stay! The cottage had all the conveniences of our very own home. We will definitely stay there again. Thank you so much for such a memorable stay!"

  • Like home

"My husband, dog and I spent from mid-October through November at the Mint Cottage. We really enjoyed staying in a place that felt like home. We work remotely, so the house was a perfect size for us. We used the 2nd and 3rd rooms/ bedrooms as offices. We loved the backyard. Even though you are walking distance to downtown Asheville, the backyard makes you feel like you are far from town. The property backs up to a creek and a wooded area. We loved the location. You can walk to the grocery store (there are two!), the Asheville Yoga Center, High Five coffee, and a few restaurants (HomeGrown, Luella's BBQ). It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk to downtown and it is hilly. We loved this area so much that we moved into the house right next door! So, please feel free to say hello if you stay at the Mint Cottage! We are in the bright blue house :)"
