  • Relaxing Stay in Beautiful Asheville

"Upon searching VRBO properties in Asheville several months ago for our family July 4th weekend, I had a few criteria that were musts...2 bedroom, 2 baths, pet friendly, & near downtown. I narrowed down my search to a couple properties, Green Gables being one of them. I ultimately decided on Green Gables, primarily due to the prompt correspondence from the owner, Georgia. She provided me with much information on the area and the house & amenities. With our daughter meeting us from Nashville, accompanied by her pug, Walter, my husband & I decided this would be the perfect location, with us driving from DE. We've stayed in VRBOs before, with positive experiences at them, but one never knows until arrival if a property really is the way it's presented online. Upon our arrival in Green Gables, we were all impressed with Georgia's greeting, her helpful suggestions and information in a binder, & her personal "touches"...milk, fresh loaf of bread, a personalized dog treat for Walter, & fresh baked cookies for us! The house itself is exactly as presented online...older, southern-Victorian style home, exuding with charm and beautiful antiques in every room. The huge veranda provided a quiet respite for lounging. The bathrooms were a nice mix of old with new (claw footed tub in one, modern updates in other). The kitchen and bathrooms were both well stocked with supplies. The linens were clean/fresh, and additional covers were provided for our dog. The yard was well maintained, with an array of flowering plants out front & adorning the veranda, as well as greenery lining the stone walkway up the back yard. This property is very close and convenient to the thriving, bustling downtown. My husband & I walked there to browse around a couple times. I will say that the neighborhood is what I'd consider to be a diverse area, with some older, smaller homes mixed inbetween some older larger more stately homes. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Green Gables and the hospitality extended by Georgia, the owner. Furthermore, we would recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in Asheville, close to downtown without all the noise, close to the Blue Ridge pwy & Biltmore, at a comfortable, quaint home filled with southern charm!"

  • Highly Recommend!

"I stayed in the cottage this past weekend with some friends. We went for a "mom's weekend away" and it was truly a great experience. The hosts were extremely polite and pleasant and very hospitable. They made sure we had all we needed and provided some great recommendations of restaurants in the area. I would gladly rent this place again or the B&B that is on the same property. I highly recommend it to anyone considering it. The cottage is very small (thus, a cottage) but was very comfortable for myself and my 3 friends."

  • Clean, fully stocked, and a beautiful setting!

"We had an excellent stay at the Catwalk Cottage. We arrived late at night, but it was easy to locate and was lovely to have the lights, music, and heat on when we arrived. We were pleased to see they had everything we needed for a comfortable 3-night stay, from basic paper supplies, spices and cooking oil to towels, sheets, and extra blankets. They even had a small crockpot, which was a real treat and let us go out to enjoy our day but come home to a meal ready to go. We made good use of the grill the following night as well. The location is beautiful and relaxing, and though it was a bit cold for us to enjoy being outside, we enjoyed the views through the windows. The beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of space for the four adults, my daughter, and my infant (who slept in the pack-n-play we brought). Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and they include numerous local magazines and pamphlets of the area and things to do in the home. Access to local stores is easy, and it's located within a reasonable drive to just about everything we'd want to do or visit in the Asheville area. Check-in and check-out were both a breeze, and we were simply thrilled with our stay. We will be back in the future!"

  • Like home

"My husband, dog and I spent from mid-October through November at the Mint Cottage. We really enjoyed staying in a place that felt like home. We work remotely, so the house was a perfect size for us. We used the 2nd and 3rd rooms/ bedrooms as offices. We loved the backyard. Even though you are walking distance to downtown Asheville, the backyard makes you feel like you are far from town. The property backs up to a creek and a wooded area. We loved the location. You can walk to the grocery store (there are two!), the Asheville Yoga Center, High Five coffee, and a few restaurants (HomeGrown, Luella's BBQ). It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk to downtown and it is hilly. We loved this area so much that we moved into the house right next door! So, please feel free to say hello if you stay at the Mint Cottage! We are in the bright blue house :)"
