  • Wonderful Cabin!

"We loved our stay at Marie's beautiful cabin! This cabin is set in a quiet area about 30 minutes west of Asheville and was perfect for our visit to the area. It is decorated beautifully, very comfortable, and has a beautiful little stream running behind it in the woods. The area is rural and surrounded by woods, but with neighbors nearby so you're not totally by yourself in the wilderness. We absolutely loved it. The bbq shelter / gazebo behind the cabin was right on the edge of the woods and you can hear the stream as you grill. Incredibly relaxing! You're about 1 hour from the Smoky Mountains National Park to the west and about 30 minutes from Asheville to the east. You're only about 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway as well which is a beautiful drive. We really loved it."

  • A very special place

"The Laurel is an outstanding home. It is beautifully furnished and generously provisioned with necessities not often found in rental homes. The surrounding property is gorgeous and views just melt your tensions away. We shared the home with our son, his wife and our granddaughters (9 and 13) and there was plenty of room. We did some hiking around the property and we enjoyed many games of Scattergories - what a great game! The extra folding table we found in the garage came in handy for doing our jig saw puzzles - a family tradition. We made a trip to Waynesville and the girls loved the Mast General Store and the candy. Another day we drove in to the Pisgah National Forest and visited Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls and the Discovery Center. Both of these trips were lovely. Our favorite activity was just relaxing on the porch watching the Barn Swallows and then, later in the evening, the fireflies. The girls do not have fireflies at home so that was a real treat for them. It would have been perfection if we had been able to bring our Westie with us. She would have loved it! Thanks for sharing this wonderful spot."

  • Rain didn't ruin our stay!!!

"CiCi was extremely accommodating! We overlooked the line in her email that stated how to get in. When we arrived we called her and she was at the house within minutes to help. The cabin was beautiful and clean! There were plenty of dishes to make meals at the cabin. We BBQ one day and the gas grill work flawlessly. We had our 9 m/o and 2.5 y/o boys. They had a great time exploring inside and outside. There is a nice big yard for them to play. Just be careful to watch the little ones near the creeks. Unfortunately it was a little chilly and rainy for creek. Weaverville is a nice quiet town with everything you'd need without having to go to Asheville if you don't want to. Asheville was a short 15-20minute drive. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a short 4 mile drive. I did morning bike rides up ox creek (try and stay off reems creek) to the BRP and from there you can do a 24 mile loop to town or just cruise on the parkway. There was plenty of climbing and scenery to keep anyone happy. Overall from a cyclist and dads point of view I wouldn't have changed a thing. We had a great time. Thanks CiCi!!!!"
