  • Absolutely beautiful and very clean!!

"We had a fantastic time staying at Knob View Retreat! The house was so clean and well maintained! We were within driving distance of all the things we wanted to see and do! The fully equipped kitchen and gas grill allowed us to make delicious meals easily. The views were magnificent! It was probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed while on vacation I truly felt relaxed! We had a great time!"

  • A little piece of Heaven!

"We arrived in the Old Fort area on a very warm Saturday morning. Started to reconsider going to North Carolina mid summer, glad we came. The mountain home was AMAZING! It was definitely cooler up top. The house was spotless with more amenities than mentioned in the HomeAway website. In fact, there was nothing lacking for what we were cooking or during leisure. The house was already cooled when we arrived. The view from the deck was beautiful whether it was sunrise, watching a storm go across the valley below, or watch the sunset! There was the cutest nook off the spare room with a lovely stone wall and gnome watching your every move. The landscaping of this area was extremely inviting. The decks had plenty of space with outdoor furniture for lounging or dining. We used the gas grill hard and had a much better view than any restaurant in the area. Places we enjoyed while there: Of course we loved the relaxed atmosphere at Phil's Bar-B-Que Pit. We did a Paddle board tour in Asheville area of the French Broad River. This was booked with Kyle of Mauii SUP (stand up paddleboarding). Kyle was amazing with his patience for helping us succeed. And the Biltmore Mansion is well worth going to. Go early as the crowd assembles early and there is a lot to see. The gardens rival our local Longwood Gardens. The Blue Ridge Parkway was also amazing. We went to Little Switzerland for a lovely dinner overseeing the valley below. All in all it was a fairly central location for all that we chose to do. Lynne made sure we had detailed instructions for everything from locating the home to how to manage everything in the home. We could not have asked for anything more!"

  • Sunset Ridge is named perfectly!

"We wanted to spend a week at a restful mountain retreat with long range and sunset views - Sunset Ridge really delivered on our wish list! The views are breath taking and at night you see very few lights so it seems like you are sitting in the middle of your own private mountain range! The unit is very private and the deck is massive and wants for nothing. We didn't take advantage of the hot tub because after a day of hiking at Chimney Rock, BRP, or enjoying Asheville in 90 degree temps (unusual heat wave) it was too hot for us. But we did peak at it and it looked crystal clear and very inviting. The unit was very well appointed and had anything and everything you could want. Very, very comfortable and also nicely decorated. Oh and spotless clean as well! We saw dear and other small wildlife from the deck and would love to come back and take advantage of the really pretty outside sitting area and fire pit. Sunset Ridge is close to everything the Asheville area has to offer. Someone mentioned the drive up to the house and yes there is about 1000 feet of gravel but is very doable and not bad at all for a regular car, didn't bother us at all and so worth it. Liz and Tony are great hosts and we so enjoyed meeting both of them. Liz is only a quick text away if you need anything or have any questions. We definitely want to stay at Sunset Ridge again!"

  • Fantastic 4th f July

"We stayed at this beautiful loft over the 4th of July Holiday. The decor and furnishings were such a treat. As a decorator, I enjoyed "living with art" which was comprised of the owner's work displayed throughout. The kitchen is on the floor above the living area and provides plenty of room to cook, eat and enjoy. Bedrooms were well appointed and spacious as well. Parking in the parking garage was close and easily accessible from the second entrance to the loft. We were able to park and walk to everything downtown which is a plus when staying in an urban area. The owner sent a list of restaurants prior to our visit with a personal review which was very helpful. Instructions and security were very clear and well thought out. I highly recommend this property."
