  • Wonderful, relaxing stay

"Georgia is the perfect hostess-she had everything perfect for my arrival including a bottle of wine and delicious cookies. There was even a special treat for my dog! I truly appreciate the warmth and hospitality shown. Special blankets, toys, and even food dishes were provided for my dog. A book with recommendations on the area and a history of the home helped me plan my stay. I stayed the week prior to Thanksgiving and the air quality was excellent, a concern given the recent fires. The skies were blue and clear, the trees were turning colors-it was perfect. I was able to hike DuPont Forest, the Arboretum, and other trails with no problem. The city is wonderful, lots of great shops and restaurants. The property itself is cozy and beautiful with a somewhat European feel. The area felt very safe and was perfect. Remote enough to feel like I was in the country but only 5-10 miles to downtown. Twin Leaf Brewery, Limones, Asheville Brewing Co, and DuPont Forest are a few of my favorite places I was able to visit. I highly recommend the Red Gate Cottage."

  • Magnificent Mountain Views

"My family and I have rented many houses in the Asheville area, but none can come close to the amazing mountain views this house has! Outside, this charming house has an easily manageable driveway and a lovely deck that allows for relaxing and taking in the view. The house itself is very well maintained - very clean and tastefully decorated - and appointed with extra towels, linens, bedding and pillows, along with a well equipped kitchen and laundry. The owner is very kind and accommodating in every way and easy to reach if needed. Asheville is a very special, charming city and to be able to stay in such a wonderful house makes the vacation all the more memorable. We will definitely rent this house again."

  • Fantastic!

"My husband and I plus our two dogs stayed at this rental for a week this October. The location was wonderful, high enough up the mountain to get excellent views, but not so high as to worry about making it up there! The proximity to downtown Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, NC Arboretum, Black Mountain, Highland Brewing Company, everything we were interested in doing was only 15-20 minutes away. It is also close to the Western NC nature center, and the Folk Art Center of the Southern Highlands Guild. Really can't say how fantastic the location was, we felt like we were "away from it all" but the grocery store, gas station, and entertainment was closer than expected. The owners were very quick in responding to e mails, also a couple of times during our stay we called with questions and they shockingly always answered the phone right away, it never went to voicemail once. The rental has a wonderful fire pit, well equipped kitchen, everything was clean and comfortable. A really neat spiralstaircase to get into the upstairs loft. Beautiful hardwood floors, poured and polished concrete counter tops, a spacious master bath. Laundry room, everything one could need. We will definitely be back!"
