We have always wanted a vacation home. We stumbled upon Little Gasparilla Island on the internet and loved the concept of this barrier island with no cars. We fell in love the first time we visited the island. It truly is paradise. The sunsets are amazing. The beach is uncrowded and peaceful. It is the perfect place for us to gather as a family and decompress. Every time we leave the island our family bond is closer.
Barrier Island, Golf cart community, free ferry service,2 single kayaks, 1 double kayak
Oh, where to start... The house is clean and comfortable, well-maintained, and very well stocked; the island residents we encountered were friendly and helpful; and Christine was impressively responsive to our questions and concerns. We enjoyed the screened-in lanai for both morning coffee and evening cocktails. Shells are abundant all along the beautiful natural beach, and it was a pleasure to have beach chairs and umbrellas (all in good condition) available for our use. We did some exploring with the golf cart, and it was great for getting back and forth from the house to the dock, or to the pool. Since we brought our sailboat, we needed to move things on and off (coolers, change of clothing, etc.), and the carts provided made easy work of it.
Little Gasparilla Island is a barrier island, and you will need insect repellent; it's probably also a good idea to "go native" - wear long pants and long sleeves in lightweight materials.
Only five minutes from the ferry is a well-stocked Publix. We made two grocery runs in the course of ten days and that was just about right, if you plan your meals. There are restaurants nearby, too, but somehow, for us, eating out wasn't part of our away-from-it-all vibe.
With the physical beauty of the place, the adventure of exploring by golf cart and kayak, and the many thoughtful touches in the house itself, we can't say enough good things about this wonderful vacation home. We'd love to come back again!
We stayed at Christina's condo for a week in April 2016. This was our second stay the first was for a month. It was so wonderful not a lot of people and weather was beautiful. The condo has everything you need and is so comfortable it is easy to relax and enjoy yourself. We used the kayaks several days and had memorable trips each time seeing dolphins each trip.
LGI is absolutely perfect.
Very well kept property complex
and great condo for an escape / getaway. We are already planning a return trip for 2017.
What a lovely time we had at Christine's condo! Loved the ease of getting to and from the island (we have stayed on the island quite a few times at other rentals and it was never so easy) and we really enjoyed the set up of the condo. We were able to leave the windows open and had a fabulous breeze. The master bedroom has the feature of an additional door which closes it off from the kitchen which was also really nice for privacy. Used the kayaks and golf cart to explore as well. Just can't say enough about what a great stay it was! Thank you Christine!!
This is our second time at Juniors Beach House. The Condo is beautifully decorated and comfortable with all the amenities needed for the beach including chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, beach blanket, fishing poles etc. All you need to bring is food and suncreen for your stay. Its our go to place for LGI
Unit H 5 is a wonderful unit at Hideaway Bay on LGI. It is well furnished , clean and well supplied with things people might want or need. We were able to prepare all of our meals easily, had plenty of towels, etc. The extras included the bikes, kayaks (which we were never brave enough to use) and plenty of outdoor seating downstairs. The downstairs area was really nice with chairs, tables, etc. Will definitely try to rent this unit next time we come.
Little Gasparilla Island is a barrier island off of Southwest Florida. There are no cars on the island, only sandy paths for golf carts or foot. Come experience paradise!
