Property description

Welcome to Seaquest and Ucluelet on the wild side of Vancouver Island. Seaquest is a large contemporary high-end unit in the Ridge at Big Beach. The stunning Pacific ocean views and massive post and beam construction are softened by natural materials and calm colours.

In 2,500 square feet of interior space there are three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths. The master bedroom has a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a slate-walled shower and deep air-jet soaker tub. The master also has its own patio which connects with the main patio. Both have water views that are an ever-changing delight. Bedrooms two and three each have a queen bed and share a large bathroom with enormous slate-walled shower.

An eagle flies along the shore in front of Seaquest nearly every day in season and deer are often seen feeding in the brush below the unit or along the Wild Pacific Trail which passes about 50 feet from the main deck.

Expansive open spaces, wireless Internet, 2 fireplaces, a large barbecue, 10-foot cedar dining table, extensive decks and 52 inch flat screen television are among the amenities at Seaquest.

Manager info

About: We enjoy the Pacific West Coast, and love to have people take in the beauty as well! Our condo is an ideal landing pad for professionals, travelers and families as it allows the space needed to experience the best of Ucluelet.

Why Ucluelet, BC, Canada:
About The Region Pacific Rim National Park is made up of three units: Long Beach, the Broken Group Islands, and the West Coast Trail. Two of the units, Long Beach and Broken Group Islands are easily accessible from Ucluelet. Long Beach is a pleasant 10-minute drive north from Ucluelet, and the beach is aptly named for its huge 20-kilometer stretch of sandy beach. Closer to Ucluelet are several other beaches also within the boundaries of the park and considerably less busy. The first two Half Moon and Florencia can be reached from a long trail (and many steps) which begins at the west end of Willowbrae Road. Half Moon is small and has interesting rocky ledges in the water. Florencia is very long and backed by high cliffs - we have often seen bear tracks here. From the Wickaninnish Interpretive center road you can reach the other end of Florencia (by a short trail and fewer stairs) or Wickaninnish Beach. This beach usually has huge collections of driftwood and the Center offers a small natural history exhibit and a restaurant. Because of the services, large parking areas and direct access (no trail) Wickaninnish is the busiest beach at the Ucluelet end of the park. The next beach road in the park accesses Combers Beach via a lovely woodland trail. It’s not too steep, not too long and has only a few stairs at the end to drop to the beach. For us, Combers and Florencia are favourites. The Broken Group islands is an archipelago made up of more than 100 rocky islands and islets in Barkley Sound. These protected islands can only be reached by boat and are a haven for kayakers and canoeists. Several local tour operators offer trips to the Broken Group Islands. Ucluelet is also considered the gateway to some of the best scuba diving in the world, with a vast array of marine life and some fascinating historical shipwrecks nearby.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
In addition to beach combing and nature hikes, whale watching is a major attraction. Gray whales migrate past our shores annually making their migration from Baja California to Alaska and back. Information on the annual Pacific Rim Whale Festival and other events is available by visiting the Ucluelet Chamber of Commerce which operates in the summer months. Specialties of the area are the Wild Pacific Trail, the Lighthouse at Amphitrite Point, salmon fishing, nature charters, and simple beach combing and shell collecting at the local Big Beach, Little Beach and Terrace Beach. The Wild Pacific Trail passes along Marine Drive directly in front of the Ridge. To go west - turn right at the end of the driveway and cross the road to one of the two beach trails within 100 meters. The main trail continues up a a steep section of stairs from Big Beach Park. East from the Ridge the trail follows the road for awhile so it’s best to take a car to one of the access points. There are parking areas at the Amphitrite Lighthouse and also halfway along the road to the lighthouse. From either of these a lovely trail forms a loop running along the waterfront and cutting through the rain forest. A side trail with many stairs runs down to a small gravel beach. The Lighthouse Loop is one of our favourite Ukee activities. In our immediate neighbourhood you will frequently see deer and eagles. In the summer of 2009 a young bear is regularly seen on Marine Drive and Sunset Point (to reach Sunset Point turn left at the end of our drive then right though the gate at the first opportunity - about 100 meters). Also on Sunset Point this summer a pair of bald eagles has nested and is raising chicks in a tree just beyond the boardwalk on the west side of the Point. A merlin (falcon) has breakfasted in one of the two trees in front of Seaquest.
