Comfortable flat, amazing location, few issues
We booked this flat at the last minute when we learned the beds in our previous booking were smaller than advertised. We were SO GLAD we made the change to Fleur's apartment! In addition to the large, comfortable beds in both bedrooms, the flat was roomy and comfortable, and the neighborhood was PERFECT! Close by to everything: restaurants, cafes, Underground metro, Holland Park, Portobello Market, Kensington, etc. Our family of 5 adults appreciated having 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and Fleur provided modern, high-powered fans for both bedrooms which allowed us to sleep comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked and we used the washing machine a few times with no problems (ran out of detergent, but it was inexpensive to buy more and the nearby market).
Only a few issues prevent me from giving 5 stars:
1- the flat smelled a bit musty throughout - not sure if this is common for basement level flats in London, but we noticed it every time we entered the apt. There was an air freshener in one of the bedrooms which helped, but it could use air fresheners throughout.
2- the shower in the 2nd bedroom was clogged when we arrived. It caused the shower to flood onto the bathroom floor when our kids used it, which we had to mop up (twice). We notified the property manager but they were not responsive until we notified Fleur. Once the plumber came (3rd day), the problem was fixed and no longer an issue.
3- the cleaning could have been more thorough: there was mold in 2nd shower, the hardwood floors were not swept in some areas, and the freezer part of the fridge needed defrosting.
4- The sofa and chair in the living room only accommodate 4 people and there were 5 of us. One always had to sit on a dining chair if we wanted to watch some TV at night together. Not a major issue, but would have been nice to have one more comfy chair available to lounge after a long day of sightseeing.
5- the WiFi stopped working for a couple of days. It was an issue with the WiFi provider and got resolved, but we were disappointed that the property manager was not very responsive on the issue. However, Fleur was always very responsive - before, during and after our stay.
Again, if not for these issues, I would have given 5 stars. Regardless, I would gladly recommend this rental and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Perfect for family trip
I spent a week here with my wife and two teenage daughters. Local neighborhood is very nice and tube station is only about a 10 minute walk. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. The owner was very kind and let us come in early due to a redeye flight from the United States that came into London at 7 a.m. Photos accurately depict the apartment. We really enjoyed it and would be happy to stay there again for future London trips!
Loved it! Would definitely stay there again!!
We really enjoyed this flat. The first thing we noticed is that it is bigger than the VRBO photos would suggest. We had loads of room for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). Plenty of natural light, quiet for sleeping and very comfy beds. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bathrooms had several large bath towels. The walk to Holland Park tube station was about 8 minutes and it took about 20 minutes on the tube to get to central London. Holland Park is a beautiful neighbourhood for strolling about, with some great shops, a Tesco supermarket, pharmacy and a nice pub all within a 5 minute walk. We highly recommend this place.
Great apartment with nice location
The apartment was very clean and a great location. We have 3 kids and it was a great size for us. Loved the small shops across the street which were very convenient for food. Would stay here again.
Lovely apartment in a prime location
We just returned home after spending 11 days in this lovely apartment. It was a perfect spot for our family vacation to London. The location is ideal, central enough, but also away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were always delighted to leave the hectic pace of the London tourist attractions behind, ride the tube a few stops and find ourselves in the wonderful, quiet neighborhood of Holland Park. There are a couple of great restaurants within two blocks as well as a nice little gelato shop, and hundreds more restaurants and shops are just a short tube ride away. The apartment is well furnished and well stocked with kitchen and bath amenities. We had a couple of minor maintenance issues arise while we were there, but the owner attended to them very quickly and had them repaired within a few hours. If you are looking for an ideal London apartment…this would be it!
